I think the reason is because the Avengers are more concerned about world problems and not local issues. They deal with the likes of Dr.Doom and Ultron, or cosmic beings that can be considered a world threat. Daredevils base of operations is mostly in Hells Kitchen, Although taking out Fisk I would felt he would have shown up during that tower raid. Punisher is a mercenary that kills for justice and him and Spiderman do not exactly have the best relationship because of it. Spiderman is all over the news and papers and very capable have handling certain threats.
I was thinking that too but I mean the amount of crime that was close to destroying New York, they couldn’t let one avenger fight them?

This is explained in the game. When you take a picture of the Avengers tower Spidey says something along the lines of, “The Avengers Tower is so cool too bad they never use it. I think they’re based in the West Coast now.”
Iron Man could make it there in a day tops, all the others could definitely be on a plane and be there in two. There's a deadly virus and a break out of hundreds of criminals and six high profile villains, I think this is important enough

The Avengers can be in space fighting someone or Insomniac could maybe kind of adapt the civil war story and say that the Avengers are hiding from the government. Just some ideas!

Maybe an event similar to Avengers Disassembled happened. The Raft Breakout in the New Avengers comics happened when the Avengers were disbanded due to Scarlet Witch. Hawkeye was dead, Hulk was in space, pretty sure Thor was dead, Iron Man was solo and Captain America was an agent of Shield.
Maybe the Avengers will be in the sequel. That’s my guess

Hopefully. Maybe they are disassembled in this universe, which is why in the Avengers trailer they say they need to get together. But I still don't think they're in the same universe, but it could work if they wanted to do that.
It’s s possible that they are not worried because they think spiderman is more capable then them in protecting the city more so than themselves.
For example spiderman is protecting the avengers tower which has all that the avengers need to defend the earth, if it was taken and used by super villains earth may be more defenseless then before from other villains and invaders, as for the Sanctum Sanctorum it creates a shield that defends the earth from other beings from other realms for the most part with Strange dealing with thous who manage to find a way around it, if it falls to criminals or villains earth will be attacked by beings beyond human comprehension. Daredevil may not be in shape to do anything, as for the wakanda embassy it may not have anything to do with protecting the earth but it may be helping the people of NYC like FEAST with Martin Lee.
So spiderman is probably the most important hero in this universe in the sense he defends all the other heroes’s(homes, bases, and saves them world ending problems)even if not directly, the point being is that all the heroes respect him as an equal and trust him enough to take care of their base/home possibly saving world if not for him(of course not in a direct way), not to forget protecting the people of NYC while they are busy with their personal or professional lives.
Like how an actual spider helps balance nature by getting rid of some Vermin insects
Insomniac could have said something about it. It was more just an easter egg than anything. It could have been way more fun. I hope they're in the sequel.

Salvage1009 The game already answered why Superman or any of the justice league members didn’t show up to help it’s because of scarecrows and arkham knights threat that if someone on the outside interfered they would blow up bombs and stuff, the Arkham knight even indirectly said that meaning Superman

I think the tower would be different if they weren't active. Like, warn, or abandoned looking. It looks clean, but it's possible the main members retired and there's a different line up for this universe.

I feel like the street level heroes and the big boy heroes are too busy doing there own thing. If Spider-Man PS4 is successful, the developers would probably make a game about the Defenders, Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic 4, etc. Explaining why they didn't show up to help Spider-Man. I also feel like the dev's might make a Ultimate Alliance like game and probably build their own universe, like DC's Injustice or the Arkham games.

It would be a solution to have Cap or iron man call him and ask if he has got it under control and if he needs any help. Since Peter has been Spider-Man for 8 years now, he must be pretty good at it, maybe if Peter declines the offer, that would explain it

My theory is that they are lying and that some hero will be on the game even has a post credit scene that's what I think can happen or there just too busy like you said salvage.

We don't know anything about Insomniac's version of the Marvel Universe. Yeah they're only focusing on Spidey and his friends, but in creating a new Spider-Man, they created a whole new Marvel Universe (that might be labelled the Marvel Gaming Universe in the future if the games do well) with it. The Avengers might be a little bit more different than the ones we know from the comics or the movies. It's either that or, in the words of Tony Stark, this is a little bit below their pay grade.

It’d be cool if for these new Marvel games is they did MCU style post credits scenes that hint towards future movies and content.
One for this game could be Iron Man, Black Widow, or a shield agent (maybe Coulsen) meets with or contacts Spidey and he’s all like “yeah thanks for the help” or “hey, where were you guys” type of deal.
Also in this game, Norman Osborn called Silver Sable and her Wild Pack, so he could’ve said like “hey Avengers I got some other people working on the villains.” I guess that still doesn’t explain why they wouldn’t show up to defend Spidey sense he’s being hunted by Sable, but we’ll have to wait and see.
It's kinda similar to Batman Arkham Knight. There's Queen Industries, but no Green Arrow. Lexcorp, but no Lex Luthor. A lot of Superman references, but no Superman.
Those games happen in one night, so it makes sense, but this game takes place over the span of WEEKS. Makes less sense for heroes to NOT show up in Spider-Man compared to the Arkham games.
I think A is the answer. They are very busy. If this game and the upcoming Avengers game are in the same universe(i think they are), maybe they can be happening at the same time. And i think maybe there can be an after credits scene? Maybe Spidey can get a call from them about a very very big problem. This is of course just my theory but i think there is a possibility.

If it were me handling the explanation I would say that most of all Earth’s defenders had to leave the planet for some reason and they left certain heroes behind to be the protectors of earth, so Spider-Man handles New York, Black Panther is probably watching over Africa and Asia, some of the X-men are sprinkled across the continents and some inhumans, maybe a fantastic four member, basically he’s one of the few heroes left on earth to protect it, and that would give a lot of reason to why Peter chose to continue being Spider-Man over being with MJ, he made a promise to the avengers ( btw as a side note wouldn’t it be cool if the supposed confrontation that the avengers had to leave earth for was THE fight with Thanos, like not show it or out right say it but they could like hint that that’s what they’re doing)
i like to think every one is busy with there own villains ya know? and if we do see any other hero in a DLC it will like cameo's like back in the first Spider-Man game 2000 and honestly I don't wanna play as ironman or cap in a Spider-Man that would kinda take away from it being a Spider-Man game.. I think what everyone is asking for is an open world avengers game that's what I think... and also if you know Jessica Jones I can tell you right now she don't give a shit unless trouble is knocking on her doorstep that's when she cares. Also i would like to see rand enterprises in this Marvel New York as well so far i have heard no word on that just on matt, luke, and Jessica.

The Netflix heroes should have at least gotten a cameo. I mean for Christ sakes are these companies so power/money hungry that they can’t split a deal up and be like “hey let’s have some of our lower faced heroes stop by for a mission or two.” If they were smart they’d do that and make money off of the hype of just seeing another hero involved. i brought this up earlier this week, i said if they dont give a reason in the story as to why avengers are mia, then ill be dissapointed, they should say they're fighting aliens or thanos.
Probably the Avengers have trust in Spiderman in protecting New York, since Spiderman does mentioned in the game that he has met Captain America when he talked about his shield. And I'm sure that the Avengers know that Peter has everything under control, since at this point he has tons of experience compared to other Spiderman games. Web Of Shadow is possibly the only other game that makes Spiderman have that "experienced" title, but not to the degree of Spiderman PS4.

I know Spider-Man in the comics is a member of the Avengers but What if in this Universe Spider-Man is not. So maybe The Avengers don’t help him out cause he’s not part of the team. As for the street level hero’s they might be going on their own adventure or dealing with their own villains during the events of the game. Or Spider-Man has not met any of the other street level hero’s yet like Daredevil.

LuderMan Plays I think a version of Avengers Disassembled happened. In the comics, the Raft Breakout happened after Disassembled and there wasn’t an Avengers team until the New Avengers formed. Cap became an Agent of SHIELD, Iron Man briefly retired, Hulk was solo and sent to space, Thor, Hawkeye, Vision, and Antman were dead.

And my thought is that, maybe, in this timeline the Avengers and Dr. Strange don't do their stuff anymore, like the only hero left is Spider-man (and obviously catwoman and other dlc characters) but they just keep the buildings in the city to remember them

Well the avengers aren't always at the tower. They don't "live" there per say. It's just their base of operations. Probably be busy, especially tony who is always busy and which is why he usually only super heroes big threats and leaves the neighbor hood watch heroes to the city unless called in. What i expect would be post game free roaming we can run into Luke cage or dare devil and they're like "hey spidey, saw those new thugs around but noticed you webbed them up and handled the situation. We're always around you need a hand you know." That'll leave the door open in sequels or dlc for future heroes appearances and explain why Insomniac was able to focus soley on spidey with no help.

Since 8 years passed being spider-man .. and maybe infinity war ended and maybe.. avengers defeated thanos and spidey is back in action since 8 years.. so maybe Avengers are out there fighting some super villians somewhere in space or other part of the world.. and left the responsibilty of New York city to spider man ! And superheroes like dare devil, punisher etc are doing the work in other citys or other part of this earth..!Thats why spidey Got all the suits here and doing his frndly neighbourhood Thing !! And iirc, if like someone is holding Gotham hostage to get to Batman, they'll do things like put bombs around the place to keep people like Superman out or other street level heroes will be mentioned as being off planet or something. If you think about all of the most recent and future marvel movies like avengers, venom, and Spider-man far from home, they are all in there own universe. Tying this highly anticipated, but risky game to something as reknowend as the marvel cinematic universe could result in bad internet reputation ( I still pre ordered the pro bundle). I mean we all see what happened to star wars. I think there is a such thing as over doing it.
This isn't connected to the movies. This is a new universe.
They confirmed this when the game was first announced I think, but it still has connections to a larger NEW Marvel universe.
Can't wait to see what marvel and insomniac put together.
