All horses have this thing where they follow the path when you either aren’t equipped with anything OR have your sword/spear out. When you have your bow out they run into things.

At max bond, yes all horses have this and although Epona is a great horse, there are better ones to catch and work on the bond. He did all old amiibo but the rider amiibo gives you the horse as well.

Me as soon as I get off the plataeu: goes straight to Hyrule Castle to get the Hylian Shield.
I bought the DLC, and Majora's Mask is such a great item, seriously. Besides Guardians, The Yiga Clan, Octoroks and a few other monsters, most enemies will not attack you, meaning that you can either get really close to them and kill them more easily, or collect Korok seeds / items without being bothered.
Seriously, this Mask is one of the best things you can buy for the game

1 buy a switch and botw, since switch > wii U
2 buy the amiibo
3 see that the wolf only has 3 hearts
4 buy a wii U and TP HD
5 buy the zelda amiibo so you can recover hearts
6 FINALLY get your 20 hearts wolf lunk
@omgwtfbbq you do, but you can get custom nfc chips (or a book of nfc cards specifically for breath of the wild) with 20 heart wolf link. The second cheapest way to get 20 hearts wolf link as opposed to stealing it from someone who already has it.

The one problem with Epona that makes me not want to use her is that you can’t change her saddle/bridle, meaning you miss out on the Ancient set which gives horses so much extra to them.

The Hylian shield was one of the first things I got after getting the memories sode quest, getting it is not as hard as it sounds... Just getting past all the guardians at the beginning of the game is the hard part but the battle with the Stalnox is fairly straightforward
Just got Twilight Amiibo. Got gear on the first couple attempt. Didn't even know you could get Epona with it! Took a dozen tries to get her. Best Amiibo for BOTW in my opinion!

2:12 What ? No... you don’t get the Hylian Shield near the end of the game at all. Remember the princip’e of this game is that you can go practically wherever you want from the start. Just make your way into the castle and find it after defeating the Hinox and you’re good. I got the Hylian Shield before I finished any Divine Beast Trial .-.

I’m glad I found out you don’t need to spend ridiculously a lot on these amiibo. My friend made me these amiibo cards that acts the same way as the amiibo figures
I love Epona so being able to have her in the game is awesome
Epona is great early game, unless you have the DLC and learn that you cannot equip the Ancient Saddle and Ancient Bridle onto it. Then you want a "Max Speed" 2/5/3 stat horse from the wild equipped with the DLC horse gear, then you can call it to almost anywhere.
Out of these I only have the Majora's Mask amiibo. I was lucky enough to find it at a Best Buy in November for regular price. It's one of my favourites.

The smash bros amiibo that gives you epona also gives you links twilight princess outfit. That's the one I'm getting first, especially since twilight princess is my favorite zelda game

Oddly enough I tested the twilight bow on maz koshida when I rematches him (the monk you fight at the end of champions ballad under the shrine of resurrection) the light arrows from the twilight bow don’t work on him.

I believe the best you can get from a wild horse that can be registered is 4 in Strength, 3 in Speed, and 5 in Stamina.

Can you use any Zelda Amiibo for the bow light like any of the Zelda ones that have the Zelda in it

The other good ones would probably be any of the Champion amiibos because of the Divine helms, or the one that drops Majoras Mask because no monsters attack you with it on

The new zelda should have companions from different races that specializes different fighting styles, like a zora companion who uses a spear, a goron companion that uses a crusher or his bare fists, a gerudo companion who uses a sword and shield, a hylian who uses a bow, and a sheikah that uses daggers or something

Hylian shield is easy to get. All you need to do is go to Hyrule Castle lockup, kill the moblins and lizalfos there, then kill a mediocre stalnox that gives you the shield.
Also, if you happen to break or lose your first Hylian shield, there is a man in Tarrey Town who will sell it to you for about 3,000 rupees. Look for a house with a donkey next to it, and get up to the balcony, and he'll be there.
i actually prefer wolf link amiibo bonus above all smash link epona in second but the guardian and wolf link but the light bow look sick

You mention getting the hylian shield at the end of the game...you could literally leave the platue and make it the first thing you do.. so getting the shield depends on when you want it...that being said and have completed the game a few times...the shield breaks the game and makes it easy as hell, cool addition but isn’t needed.

Considering that there are far more Shrines to teleport to than places that a horse can traverse, Epona really isn't that great.
Instead, I would've added the Sword of the Six Sages that you get from the Ganondorf Amiibo. It's pretty much second only to the Ancient Bladesaw in terms of attack power (and I'm pretty sure it also has higher durability, but since the game doesn't tell you a weapon's durability until it's almost zero, I have no way of knowing)

It is guaranteed if you buy the SSB Zelda amiibo, but it might take you a few tries to actually get the chest with that item to drop.
