    personally, i found it to have lessened my water retention in the face after each use. it was noticeably tighter, especially the jawline but not drastic, which is above and beyond for me since it doesn't rely on physical force to massage. if you want to focus on the jowls you need to purchase their other Y-shaped machine that focuses on that. this one primarily increases collagen. I've used it since Christmas for 2.5 months, twice a week.

      The brand says that for optimal results, you should stick to their gel. I have personally used my devices with ultrasound gel in the past and it worked for me, but that is a personal observation. Obviously you are using it against manufacturer recommendations then, which is something you need to be aware of when making that decision.

    Thank you! I'm wondering one thing. You note these devices can cause "fat loss" and on their site, I noticed that one more dramatic zone of improvement was "cheek sunkenness." This seems contradictory? Does the increased collagen compensate for reduced fat in sunken areas?

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  Рік тому +10

      The increase in collagen and the increased firmness can make the face appear plumper and I don't think with the strength of this device you'll get fat loss. Fat loss is not something you'd want here, it is more of a possible side effect when high strengths are used.

    Hi Doc, I watched your other video on RF devices and you mentioned these devices are good for middle-aged ppl with moderate skin laxity. I’m 47 and my skin not too sagging but I’m started to have wrinkles (laugh lines) would this device help with wrinkles? Also, my cheek doesn’t have a lot of fat to begin with, do you think it’s safe to use this? I don’t want to lose even more fat. Would using a lower setting prevent fat loss? But would lower setting not high enough to promote collagen making? TIA!

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  Рік тому

      The stimulation in collagen will have an effect on wrinkles as well, but probably not a huge one with the at home devices.
      Similar to this I personally don't see a risk for fat loss with the at-home devices either, as their settings should be safe even on the highest part.

      Anything that works as conductive gel.

    • @euphemiaknw7696
      @euphemiaknw7696 6 місяців тому

      I've been using other gels with this- as long as it's conductive-like ultrasound gel that you can find inexpensively on Amazon, or any gel used for a Microcurrent or Radiofrequency device.
      I've been using The Ordinary's Copper Peptides serum which I apply to my whole face (copper is conductive) then I apply aloe gel to the device and rub it on my face. Then I spritz my face with tap water. My tap water is hard, and most tap water in the US (85%) is hard, meaning it contains a high concentration of dissolved ions from minerals- which makes it conductive. I continue to spritz my face if it becomes dry.
      You could also add a pinch of magnesium sulfate (Epsom salt) or salt (I use Himalayan pink salt because it contains more minerals than regular iodized salt) to your water bottle to make the water conductive.
      I have not tried adding magnesium sulfate or salt to the aloe gel directly because I'm unsure if that will alter the consistency of the gel.

    Do you find that it is added collagen production in a unique way that couldn't be duplicated by simply using your Red Light Therapy more often? It seems so many things adding to collagen. I'm not sure I see why there would be a benefit of multiple approaches instead of just using which ever works best more often or longer.

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  Рік тому +6

      That is a tricky question I can't answer because as far as I know there are no comparison studies seeing if one works better than the other or if they multiply or hinder their effects when combined.
      My approach is that all of these things will only have a very small effect when they are an at-home device (for safety reasons), so a combination will get more results because they all work by a slightly different mechanism. But if that is true? All I can say that using things more frequently won't increase the results once you reached a certain point.
      But it is certain that you don't need all of these for a good routine and that SPF and retinoids as well as a healthy lifestyle are probably more important.

    How does this device results compare to Nuface's? If you choose to purchase only one device, which one would it be: Nuface or Medicube? Thanks

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  Рік тому +10

      Both work through different mechanisms, so it is hard to directly compare them: NuFace aims to plump up the muscles, this one aims to induce collagen, so which one is best for you as individual depends on your main concern as well as on your lifestyle (how often are you willing to do a treatment, how much time are you willing to invest,...).
      I personally see more effect after I started radiofrequency, but I didn't stop my microcurrent treatment (and even if I would have, the results wouldn't disappear anyway), so I will continue using both.
      If I, given my facial structure and lifestyle, HAD to pick one, it would right now be radiofrequency.

    I stopped watching Tati when she swapped from a mostly plant-based diet to a carnivore diet and started talk about God a lot. She also uses the EWG and dislikes preservatives, sulphates, talc, mineral oil. I would personally be more worried about the health consequences of eating mostly only meat than putting some phenoxyethanol on my skin.
    I have had my 4th pulse dye laser session today and I would say there have been improvements but not to the extent that others show on Reddit. The circle areas of my skin that blanch afterwards seem to redden up pretty fast and then there is more of a diffuse reduction rather than the obvious circle pattern. I know the model of the laser effects this. It is not a v-beam device.
    The procedure is quite uncomfortable and does cause some purpura and swelling because of the setting that has to be used for my skin. I would say someone with a typical amount of redness wouldn’t have to bruise. But I don’t see the 6 treatments I paid for being enough for complete resolution, so I will probably have to pay for more. @@MrsPaulaTorres I don’t know what caused your specific health problems; perhaps you were fed a nutritionally deficient diet but there is more than sufficient evidence that vegan diets can be healthy. More than that, that people who reduced meat consumption and swap those calories with plants have better health outcomes. It is always smart to take a B12 and maybe D3 supplement for reassurance but vegans aren’t worse off than everyone else in general.
      I think a carnivore diet is pretty dangerous. The low consumption/absence of fibre in the diet is incredibly bad for the gut and red meat is potentially inflammatory for the intestines. You increase your risk of GI cancer when you reduce fibre intake. You are also getting no phytonutrients and antioxidant phytochemicals. Your consumption of saturated fat and cholesterol will be high and you could be eating a lot of trans fats compared to people who eat more plants. We have anthropological evidence that people who live in parts of the world where they don’t have access to plants and have to eat mostly meat based diets have high levels of cardiovascular disease.
      I know a lot of grifters on the internet are trying to sell the carnivore diet for profit but it is likely going to harm a lot of people. And a lot of these people are vulnerable and suffering from chronic diseases and desperate for any promise of a solution. I don’t think you would ever get ethical approval to run an RCT that involved telling a group to only eat red meat products for months or years because the body of evidence very strongly suggests that excessive consumption of meat is not healthy.
