I haven’t even finished the video because my mind is blown when you said to think of it as a system with an end result and to put in the routines to make that happen. I have never thought about it like that and I think it’s going change my life! Thank you… now to continue the video

The mindset of “what do I want to keep” not “what do I want to declutter”. Yes yes yes! This video is really good!!

Ive been decluttering for a few years now and recently moved from a one bedroom to a 2 bedroom apartment. The “does this need to go up 3 flights of stairs” helped get rid of even more.
I have drawers and closets with empty space in them?! It’s so relaxing to bring in groceries and know exactly where to put them. Or know “yes we are out of that cleaning thing” not let me buy it because I don’t remember.

I was drowning in laundry until I started a laundry routine... We are a family of 5 so everyone has there day to get there laundry done including sheets and blankets on there day, and Friday I do everything else like towels and stuff that gives me Saturday for no laundry day and it has been working great everyday I only have to do two loads of laundry and I love that I can get it done early in the morning and it works for us

I love that you address the mindset of bringing things into the home, I don't see many others that address this, and I think this is key to reducing clutter over time and thinking intentionally about our things. Thank you for sharing!

Dear Erica, Although I began watching your videos over a year ago, I am delinquent in thanking you for all you have done to help me and so many others. You continue to make me feel like a personal friend and your practical and real approach is so very much appreciated. Many thanks for another great video!

I love thinking about organizing systems. I love it when I take the time and energy to make them happen, and to refine them to just right for me. Sometimes I think when I watch a video "but that stuff is easy! It's just decor! My stuff is hard! It's all useful!" (hahahaha) I do get stuck on this first step obviously. But finding a home (possibly using "container concept" ideas) really points out the extra, even if it is useful, because the likelihood is that I can't live long enough to use it all :) Then, the organizing and the system of actually using all this "useful" stuff! I LOVE the comment about the cyclical nature of the decluttering process to refine it.
I need to work on each of those ideas. Maybe when I get stuck in a place I can just go on to the next "reason" and see if it is working better yet. I do like the little rewards along the way, like when I can drop off some decluttered items, or when I find something I need immediately, or when I can just start of a project because I left the space ready to go.

That closet has had so many different purposes for you, a grab and go station, an excess pantry, a storage for cleaning items. I think thats the barest I've ever seen it, Is the excess pantry not a thing anymore? Just curious. Love that you show the processes and the trial and error is much more relatable and real.

You're doing a great job. Kids always home, all day everyday is alot. As soon as you clean it up they have already messed another area up. Keep up the good fight. It does get different. Better? I'm not so sure but different. You still have along way to go....but you're doing great!

Try Old World Home's laundry stain remover: equal parts blue Dawn dish liquid, baking soda, and hydrogen peroxide. Apply with a toothbrush and let set 10 minutes, then wash. You may have to do this more than once to get the stains out, but it works great in my attempts so far! (Also, don't put garment in the dryer until you've gotten the stain out!)

I love routines. I think it comes from yhe fact yhat I alwaus felt my life chaotic, since it was because my parents were nuts. Now routines, minimalism, and learning to let go is helping me mentally and physically. Love your videos.

We moved a lot when I was a kid, the longest we lived anywhere was four years, sometimes only a year. My Mum was ruthless with decluttering and if new clothes came in, some old ones went out. I still follow that, I don't outgrow my bedroom closet.

I love this. I think it’s so helpful and so kind to remind ourselves that all of our seasons and all of our stuff ebbs and flows. There is no set an forget option for living our lives or establishing our systems. “The only constant in life is change.” -Heraclitus

    • @TheOrganizedPineapple
      @TheOrganizedPineapple 2 роки тому +1

Yes, I have to constantly remind myself that things will change and it won't always be so chaotic on this level. Little kids grow up. Remembering the season we are in is SO important.

  • @curious1366

I like the way you think! And the dance move was cute!
I'm in the middle of clearing out a bunch of cabinets and making the decisions of what is going to go where; basically updating the old system and trying to create a new one!.
Really glad to know about the plastic free deodorant. It really bothers me that many "organizing systems" involve so much plastic!

Can I ask where you bought this hoover and if you are satisfied with it's performance. And where did you buy the back in your closet wich says" ONE BAG MAKES A DIFFERENCE"....?
