@@MrMinimicrobe Late to the party but the Star Sisters skins for Inara, Io, Seris and Imani are all a homage to Sailor Moon, same with the Galactic Emperor skin for Vora as a homage to one of the antagonists. So, Gentleman Jenos is also on the same vein.
I really love these videos, but it bothers me a lot that as a skin reviewer, you kinda lack "culture". You claim about themes but you lack the background knowledge about them. In this video the most standout one is Inara's Iron Madam skin. I understand that you won't get Jenos' Tuxedo Mask themed skin since it's a Sailor Moon reference, an anime, but Iron Madam's theme is iron maiden, a pretty commonly known torture device from the medieval age. Your take on theme is very inconsistent and blinded with ignorance that at this point, you might as well not consider it when scoring or reviewing these skins. The rest are good though. My bad if this one sounded like I'm angry. I'm just more passionate than most when it comes to themes and seeing that you miss the point is so many of these skins hurts my kidneys in an atomic level. I think that's a pretty fair take yeah, I don't think possible to not take skin themes into consideration at all, but I do think good execution of creative or multiple themes at once deserves commendation, so I'll for sure be trying to understand themes a bit better as time goes on here. It'll be a lot easier with the obscure themes when I get to the point of ranking skins per patch/event pass lol. In general though, I try never to dock anything from a skin if I don't understand the theme, and only do so minorly if I get the theme and feel it's a bit dull. The theme's execution is another thing entirely, as a skin with a cool theme can be executed in a pretty mediocre way details and quality-wise, which is kinda how I felt about Inara's Iron Maiden there, though it's totally possible that I didn't fully get my thoughts across as much as I'd like lmao. In any case I'll keep that in mind, I appreciate the words and feedback and stuff
I really like Inara's Stellar Sentinel skin. My only gripe is that they gave her a much larger chest than normal. I guess it's supposed to be because she is a human rather than made of stone, but it just feels very unnecessary.
If i had to brag about skins all day , you would be the pick , sinse these opinions are quite understandble in my mindset , and really i can go on for hours about skins , oh and part 2 of this vid is A tier 👍
Honestly everything from A tier to SS are so damn close in my eyes, I have to be SUPER nitpicky to set them apart, so I could totally see that in like, other reversions of tier lists by other folks. All the stellar skins are gorgeous and Io's is one of the goats
