- Been a bit since I posted with having to wait for parts to come in for the motorcycle but I figured I'd give a little review/update with the Q20... also blew a tire at the end, nice.
Man I'm just having all the luck with my bikes these days
I got it, and damn its alot faster in person, no video can get you prepared for the speed, but its fun
Yeah everyone’s always saying 30mh isn’t fast enough, the hell it isn’t. On most city streets here I’m doing a bit over the listed speed limit LOL
@@RoamingWithRomainI, trying to decide between the q20 and the amyet s8, any opinions I should know about? I also want to be able to customize the amyet just like you can with the q20 but I only want the amyet for the dual motor and more torque
I haven’t heard of the S8 or rodent before but I looked it up. It looks like a in between of a Q20 (single battery single motor) and a Q20 Pro (dual battery dual motor). Keep in mind two motors doesn’t make you go fast it just increases the torque on hills, but having 1 battery run both of them is going to give you much less range.
@@RoamingWithRomain are you guys using the lite or normal q20
@@B7litz same man I'm on edge about which one to get. Part of me wants to go with the S8 but the Q20 seems to be way more customizable for future upgrades which is what brought me to this video.
Thank you for making another video, I'm getting mine tomorrow, and I just want to watch people ride it so I know what it's like. Have a good day and thank you
Same here lol get mine on Thursday and I just been enjoying watching people ride their bikes lol
It’s fun guys! You both should try and make some videos yourselves :)
I also own one have had it for 4 months and yes very fun!! Definitely a head turner!!
@@RoamingWithRomaincan you help me I ride my ridstar q20 full throttle and it only last me like 1 hour only
I'm going to order mine this coming Thursday cannot wait to be able to get back and forth to work a little faster then my e scooter
It’s treated me very well so far! I hope you have just as much fun on yours :)
Have been commuting on mine for about 2 weeks now, and have put roughly 300 miles on it. I'm 6'2" 275lbs, I get 25 miles on throttle only in PAS 3 (and occasionally switching to 4), and have been able to hit the 33mph max speed even at my size. My only complaint is that it's a big clunky beast. A lighter folding bike is probably more practical for pure commuting, but I wanted something with a bit of style and the price is weight/inconvenience. The plan is to get a spare battery, as well as install an auxiliary battery in the front storage bag, as well as switch out the knobby tires for street tires once they wear through.
I just blew my rear tire and installed some brand new street tires. Was going to make a video about swapping them out but my camera stopped recording after 2 minutes. Just got back from a little 5 minute rip to make sure everything good and the tires definitely have a flat spot I have to wear out of them. But it’s soooo much quieter already
@@RoamingWithRomain could you make a video tutorial on how to switch out the tires pls
I tried but the camera stopped recording after 1 minute. I think the SD card was full. It was much easier than I thought however I have a flat spot I can't get rid of so I'm just going to take it to a local bike shop to fix it up
i just got mine monday loving it so far but just like you said in a previous video i can already tell im gonna want a second battery to go farther
Yeah I’m not sure if it’s easier to just buy a second battery and keep it in a backpack for longer cruises or hard mount it, but then I believe you’d need a new controller.
Love it ❤
🏍️💨💨
Why does your bike go 40+ sometimes but all other reviews have it going 28-34
I’m Canadian it’s km/h. It shows it on the screen that way as well
I have 2200kms on mine a nd still love riding it
Put a mini bike seat on it and wear padded bike shorts for comfort as when iride it is for 5 plus hrs at a time
I can’t imagine 5 hours on the bike, I don’t peddle and just love cruising at higher speeds. Nice you found a set up that works well for you though :)
I got the q20 pro but it only does 30 miles an hour. Still trying to figure out how to deregulate this bike.
I don’t think it’s going to go faster “, the motors themselves are kind of capped to around that speed, I think the pro just gets more torque by having two motors
Hey man question, Would you be able to remove the peddles or is it required in Ontario to have them? Because I'm thinking of getting something like that but just have a wheel engine with a massive battery.
Legally in Ontario you need peddles to use the bike path and the bike itself isn’t road legal. Also legally you have to be peddling and keeping it under 20km/h. Personally as you’ve seen I’m not keeping it under 20 and I never peddle, BUT it is easy to switch the top speed down and start peddling if I see police while I’m cruising ;)
@@RoamingWithRomain Ok thanks, i'll take it in consideration!
I’m trying to decide between the q20 and the amyet s8 because I want dual motor and more torque for huge hills around my neighborhood/city but I also want to know if the amyet is as customizable as the q20 because I want to put lights on it, take headlight off, add handle grips, new handbar, seatcover, bigger battery, etc
I replied to another comment but having 2 motors on one battery is going to tank your range. I’d look into the Q20 Pro since it has dual battery and dual motor
@@RoamingWithRomain thanks
wavin a hand from Sarnia !! I have a Q20 Pro AWD !!
WOOT WOOT! I guess a question I asked in the video you can answer. Do you get better range/top speed or is it just more torque?
@@RoamingWithRomain Both!!
@@kdscrapping4452would you recommend the amyet s8 instead of the q20 pro because all I want is awd and a little more torque because of the big hills in my neighborhood and I don’t wanna spend 2k on the q20 pro
@@B7litz I do not know anything about the Amyet to compare it with!!
@@kdscrapping4452 it’s basically the q20 pro but with one battery and little less torque I think but about $600 cheaper
Thank u for these videos man... i'm planning on getting one
Thanks for watching! Sorry it's been like a month since my last upload. Been a little down having crashed my brand new motorcycle but I'm going to try being more consistent again!
Hey romain I’m thinking about getting one of these and do you think I’ll be fine on this bike at 5’3/5’4?
I had a friend who’s 5’1 give it a go, was a bit tall for them and they had to use their tip toes but seemed to be fine overall
Do the police ever bother you? Soon getting one myself and was wondering
Nope, but I do slow down and start peddling when I see them
Ok, that was my plan also hahaha thanks!
Anybody figure out how to shut off the limiter?
I think you'd need to buy an aftermarket controller with a known limiter bypass. whatever they're using seems pretty locked down
@@RoamingWithRomain Thanks for the info. I’ve tried pulling wire by wire on other ebikes to no avail so I just wanted to see if anyone had a definitive way before I wasted my time. Good vid
How much range do you get
Depends how fast I’m going and starting/stopping. Personally I’d say around 20km at max power though.
how do you get up to 45?!
i can only get it up to 30.
He's in kpm not mph, at least I'm like 90 percent sure
@@user-db9ig1xy8m OK makes plenty more sense thank you lol
Yeah I’m in KM/r since I’m in Canada
@@RoamingWithRomain Did you change anything to reach that fast?
there was a setting I put up to 100, out of the box it was set to like 20 for legal reasons.
Hi nice video! Are you interested in working with us?🤩
Hello! It’s a possibility, what did you have in mind?
