    Zoukei Mura puts detail in places you never will see. But I have many of their kits and they are gorgeous.

    I have this kit and the Hartmann 109. I haven't built either. I like the options are all there. The instructions are the best. Built the Kotare Spitfire expecting some of the Zoukei-Mura standard. Wrong! I was disappointed. Great kit no doubt but not a Zoukei. Great video! will be making mine later in the year.

    You pay your money and take your choice. If you want to represent an FW190 cutaway, this is prefect. If you want a representation of the aircraft: Hasegawa, Border, Revell, Hobbyboss and Tamiya have what you need. Dealers choice. Great review.

    Thank you for the great review! I built the Borders kit as my first 190. It is a very good kit in its own right. Your review helped highlight some of the differences between them and will help me make a more informed decision on deciding if the Zoukei is right for me. Thank you again and keep up the fantastic work!

    Excellent review, as usual, Phil. It is difficult to even begin to compare a Zoukei-Mura kit with any other manufacturer given the overall level of detail they have. If they are not the best detailed OOB kits on the market, they are close. They are not perfect, but in the world of scale modelling, nothing is. I am currently building this kit, among other builds, and have built the Zoukei-Mura A-1J Skyraider, Bf 109G-14, He 219 A-0, Ho 229, Hs 129 B-2/R3, and Hs 129 B-3 kits. I have also built all the 1:48 scale Fw 190 variants from Eduard (ProfiPack Editions), barring two which are out of production, Tamiya, oddity variants from Dragon, Hasegawa, and HobbyBoss, and a 1:32 and 1:24 scale variant from Revell and Trumpeter respectively. Each kit has had its pros and cons, some with more detail than others. For some modellers, the level of detail is never enough, but that is a personal choice. I admire and respect, equally, the OOB modeller and the modeller who spends hours adding all the extra rivet detail or scratch builds other missing detail. Afterall, it is a hobby, it means different things to different people, and it is about the enjoyment it brings to the individual and the personal choices they make in enjoying this hobby. Oh, and great new format for the channel for 2024 and I look forward to the next review video and build video/shows.

    I pre-ordered this one almost immediately after it was announced. It arrived about 3 weeks ago. The FW-190 is my favorite German fighter of WW2 (from the A model through the TA-152). I've got the Zoukei-Mura TA-152H1 kit in "the stash". Now if ZM would come out with at FW-190D9... I could do a proper Butcher Bird Evolution diorama. I've occasionally heard Zoukei-Mura described as the Wing Nut Wings of WW2 (and later). Thanks for a great review Phil!

    Zoukei-Mura is the pinnacle.. (IMHO) Delicacy of landing gear is my only concern, as well.

    It seems odd that they don't offer a version with clear fuselage and wings.

    I didn't see the aforementioned conversation, what changed Phil's mind. Seems like his personal opinion is unchanged, curious. Did he see the sales/stock levels, customer opinions, what opened his eyes and made him take another look?

    I guess you only detail the bits you want to see so don't have to do everything.

    Not a single rivet for 1/32 scale. Border model is by far more realistic

    • @andrewmgodden
      @andrewmgodden 5 місяців тому +1

      Watch and listen, you can even read it in the transcript!!! At 14:15, "...It is not covered in rivets in real life so it's pretty much as it is...". Border Model are a cheap, mediocre model manufacturer at best and no where close to being realistic. Their only claim to fame is the Avro Lancaster and that was not their work as it was from Wingnut Wings. You either have no idea what you are talking about or are just a biased mediocre modeller. I am going with you are both. 🤣

      @@andrewmgodden Wow what a high horse you are riding there. Meanwhile, you know you can just google fw 190a rivets and see there's hundreds on the fuselage but none on this kit? or are you "just a biased mediocre modeller" yourself?

      @@kjaesp Oh dear! Another precious individual who does not READ or comprehend what was written. The response to the posted comment, that is NOT YOU, was in relation to there being, "Not a single rivet..." and "...Border Model is far more realistic". The point I made in my comment is factual, proving that these comments were totally incorrect. The general consensus of the modelling community is also definitely not that Border Model kits are "realistic" or not even close, let all be being superior, to Zoukei-Mura kits. If you indeed even have this kit, you would see there are rivets because there are rivets on mine and as was correctly stated in the review video. Maybe your kit is faulty! Then again if you are a rivet counter, go and fill your boots, because all you have done is expose yourself as someone who does not read exactly what was said in a response to nothing that had to do with you. Happy modelling and keep adding those rivets, precious.🤣

      I seen a real fw190 at Raf cosford last month and you can see rivets from a distance so all I’m saying is for me border model looks better in larger scale in my opinion.
      Eduard rivet 190s in 1/72 and 1/48 scale are they a mediocre company?? Maybe you’re the one who needs to do the research 😂

      It's 2023 not 1983 😅 social media gives us a platform to show our build threads that will be seen by much more people than the real kit itself. Modern model making dictates all of our hard work will be seen forevermore!

    • @andrewmgodden
      @andrewmgodden 5 місяців тому +1

      It is called a hobby, and it is the choice of the individual as to how much detail they like, build and paint on a model. If you cannot understand this basic modelling premise, you do not understand modelling. Do not be surprised if people who enjoy detail find your opinion of "...Waste of time." totally irrelevant.

      Can’t help but agree but I feel the need to defend the ZM ethos, which is to give the model maker the experience of building the real thing, as opposed to just making a model kit. Is it a bit niche, yes it is but it’s horses for courses and I’d thoroughly recommend Revell’s Fw190 A8/R8, which is an excellent kit.
