Mina do whatever you need to do to repair your relationship with your mother. Forgive those you feel didn't meet your expectations. Life is too short Mina.

Despite the negative Comments Mina, I always enjoyed Good Bones. You, your mother Karen, and the crew made a tremendous contribution to the show. I enjoyed the comedic aspect of the show as well the serious nature and the complications you faced. With the shows end, now is the perfect time to reflect your future either private or public but most of all, Family. Good luck in whatever you decide to do. I will keep you in my prayers Mina.

Just saw the first show of New Beginnings and realised that both of you have gone your separate ways. Loved watching you both together and your show was incredible. Sometimes I couldn't understand how a house could possibly be saved and not demolished. Hope you both continue to showcase your separate lives into the future. Both of you are strong, gifted entrepreneurs. In time, forgiveness heals all wounds. Just don't take too much time as it goes fast after our 40s, 50s & 60s. God bless you and sending ❤ to you both, Mina & family & Karen. Future looks brighter!

I loved the show good bones, but I notice that Mina was a lil mean to her mom. It’s like she didn’t want her mom to have much input . (Very noticeable) mom was also good good with design. Sad that it ended this way!

I have always thoroughly enjoyed Good Bones from the beginning. I thought Mina's mom, Karen, was a little embarrassing at times. I see Mina as a smart and serious person. She is deep. I found her to have courage and dedication in everything in her life. I admired her for sharing her difficulty and experience in getting pregnant. I loved her courage to have plastic surgery after child birth sending the message to other women that they had every right to look the best they could and it's OK! She is genuine and has helped many women. Her personal success in business is to be admired.
I like Karen, but she comes across as a person in desperate need of attention and recognition. Mina, on the other hand, is serious but fun too. She's really the grown-up of the two. Her mother got on my nerves at times too, but she was also an entertaining part of the show. I watched Tad grow up on the show.
I know he learned a lot when he made up his mind to become more than a demolition man. Mina offered him a way to his own personal success. I loved the big guy. He was hard working and appeared to try to get along with everyone.
Mina proved to have the patients of Job when it came to Cory. I would have fired him 100 times before the show ended. He was totally incompetent at times. He messed up too often for my taste and appeared to care less when he did. Although I suspect it was an act. He needed a good butt kicking.
My heart went out to Mina when things went wrong. She kept her calm, but anyone could tell the entire situation was eating away at her.
The thing is, to have a successful show, she needs some entertaining characters along with the straight stuff. Good Bones was an
entertaining, fun, laughable, serious teaching, learning, with great expectations for the finishing reveal which never failed.
My heart wishes all of them complete future success and true happiness, especially to Mina and her husband and sweet family.❤

I don't know what you guys were looking at, but from the beginning I saw a disconnect between a mother and daughter. It looked like Mina's show but her mom looked like she was trying to take over. Always with those silly little add on that never seemed to fit into the decorations. Then she looked like she was always trying to pitch her store, that her daughter never mentioned. They just never meshed. But reading her story on what went down, they only get along for the dad's sake. And watching the moms new show, she decided to make the N.C. Wilmington Beach home , a vacation home. She's not moving to N.C. because home is where here family is and that's Indiana.

I started watching after seeing Mina on Rock the Block on Max. Since I live in Indianapolis I decided to watch Good Bones because it was nice to see the videos of many local areas. The name good bones was apt & fitting but "Two" Chicks & a Hammer was not. Mina's mother Karen worked her butt off & yet seemed to be treated as a "side chick". It was all good at first but became increasingly more obvious that Karen was being treated with great disrespect. And what the heck was the deal with Cory...sexual tension, touching, leaning in....totally unprofessional!

OMG IKR?! Mina was very disrespectful to her mom and spoke to her in a very condescending way and it made me really mad! I grew up in Indy so my mom and I loved watching the show for a little piece of “home”.

Mina bought Karen out in 2019.
So 100% of the financing for the last almost 6 years has come from Mina (and Steve) but Tad, Corey, Karen, etc continued to work there getting PAID wages to do it. No one worked there for free, and Mina and Steve took ALL of the financial risk! The others including Karen got their paychecks no matter what.
Technically it was no longer Karen’s business, since she wanted to get out, and did, but they kept the name “Two Chicks and a Hammer”, anyway . I respect that I never heard Mina say all that on the TV series. I knew something wasn’t the same but couldn’t put my finger on it. But if Mina and Steve are the only ones using THEIR money for ALL the financing, Tad, Corey and Karen, as well as the rest of the demo crew, had the EASY jobs.
Mina could have hired strictly only outsiders, but she wanted to help her family out, and I believe, include them in the program.

@@lovestodesign While all of that may be true, my comment was based solely as a "viewer" on perception. No need to get into their personal issues. All families experience issues at one time or another, without exception. Beyond that, it's not that big of a deal to viewers. I only watched the show because it featured local areas. Not great ones, but local. I thought Tad & Austin were funny & found it to be entertaining. I still watch it on Max.

@@lb4730 No use getting into their personal business? You yourself made a judgment on Mina saying she mistreated Karen, when that was your perception, but may not be what you thought it was. And even though I never heard them say what was going on during the series, she did speak more candidly about it later. I see everyone blaming Mina and knowing what I know about it, I’m sticking up
for Mina. Just like you stuck up for Karen. People need to get all the facts sometimes. I watched the show since their very first episode and they seemed to get along for the first few seasons. It became one of my favorite home renovation shows…I still plan on watching Karen’s episode when she renovates her home in North Carolina, since she’s moving from Indiana….But I feel sad for the family because Mina and Karen were so close before, it’s sad when family’s don’t get along. It’s called caring, even though I don’t know them personally, there’s always two sides to everything. And it’s not their personal business once THEY talk about it publicly.

Mina is a narcissist. Just took a while for the audience to recognize it. Karen, Cory, Tad, and Austin were the real workers. Mina just swanned around - hated the individual projects she did on her own.

I agree! Mina is a huge narcissist and a control freak! She got mad anytime someone disagreed with her or wanted to have a little fun. She’s wound way too tight!

I watched the new episode “Mina takes the Lake” and thought for sure Karen would show up, but she never did, so I looked it up to see why. Almost the whole family is estranged from Mina. But Karen never even acknowledged little Jacks birthday. (She can be mad at Mina, but her own little grandson?) 100% of the financing for all aspects of the business are from Mina (and Steve). Mina bought out Karen in 2019. That’s where a lot of the conflict comes in. We don’t see everything behind the scenes, even though I had this feeling something wasn’t right, they didn’t air their grievances on the series. I think a lot of people are blaming it all on Mina but there’s more to this than we all knew about. Mina employed her family members to give them work….she had the biggest financial stake in everything, all they had to do was their job and get their paycheck. If money was lost from a renovation and didn’t sell for enough to make a profit, they all still got paid and it was Mina that took the risk that she might work for weeks and not come out with a dime herself. I think people are being unfair. I can’t help but think about Karen, she didn’t call, text, or send a card for Jacks birthday . No present mailed, nothing. I can see her and her grown daughter being on the outs, but how could she do that to her grandchildren? I think Karen has some selfishness in her, too. She’s not totally innocent, either.

As a viewer, I thought Mina was a diva. She wanted everything her way. She acted like others didn't have a brain in their head. Her style was kinda bland too. I always preferred the decor personality of her mother Karen. And really... calling out your crew for playing too much? They just couldn't work hard enough for her? Your own mother leaves the successful show and takes your brother with her? 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

I just watched the Karen show tonight and was disappointed. She tries to cram too many topics in her shows. Karen (imo) talks so much that it gets boring watching her show off, chatting and that annoying cackling laugh. She needs to lose that.

Didnt care for The Two Chicks and a Hammer name. Should be named Two Chicks that make men do the hardest work and they watch and feel like they are Independent Feminists doing the most supervising their male employees. How about have an all female crew ? That's what a proud feminist would do.

Tad, Corey, Austin and the demo crew got PAID. Karen did mostly the landscaping but as of 2019 it was no longer Karen’s business because Mina bought her out, at Karen’s request. They knew what they were hired to do before they started working there. Did you think they were just volunteering? Starting in 2019 the ONLY one taking ALL FINANCIAL RISKS was Mina (and Steve). She had the biggest headache because it’s MUCH harder to run a business than to just show up, do your
9 to 5, get paid, and go home. Especially in a business like Mina’s, because she has to deal with permits, finding suncontractors, dealing with crews, foundation issues, taking financial risks, schedules etc……ALL of it was on Mina’s shoulders, but she had a supportive husband, and that made it easier. When the business started, it was Karen (she was a defense attorney) and Mina (a waitress) and they started small and didn’t need as many workers and did a lot of the physical work themselves, but it started growing so they had to start hiring. But at least at first she had financial help from Karen. But Karen decided she wanted to opt out in 2019, asked Mina to buy her out, so she did. It’s no longer Karen’s business, only Mina’s (with Steves and Mina’s money, as a married couple, taking ALL the risks)
