I remember watching a documentary where they talked about how it's sometimes hard to find cast members in Asian countries because of the culture difference. They say that it's much harder to find very outgoing people that fit the personality that is known as the Disney brand of cast member. I think this woman is really special because she is trying very hard and doing a great job. It's sometime hard to imagine coming from the US where loud, confident, and boisterous personalities are more the norm. I think she does a wonderful tour and I bet she'll get even better over time.
... "boisterous" .. etc ... I get annoyed by the very often hard, monotonous (and nasal) voicework of those American would be actors in theme parks, including Disney. They are faking way too much, and everything becomes unnatural. Few exceptions on that observation... Loud, is not a quality, it's rather a nuisance.
The staff boat “drivers” are given a script. I go there every week. They are always really chirpy and are SUPER friendly. LIKE REALLY FREINDLY. I asked for a fast pass and they gave me one.
And that she does it in English. I know that I could never get through a Chines script so that just adds major bonus to the impressive work that she and the other skippers have done.

Such an awesome version of a classic ride! I can't get over the fact that the "tom sawyer" style rafts cross over the track to reach the tree house. Plus that finale is crazy!!
The finale was so much better before (a much higher geyser, fire on water and MUCH more water poured out from the "water god" that will actually make you wet) Now they hav nerfed a lot of effects :(
+Derek Andersen Btw the reason why the tree house is on the "tom sawyer" like island and the Rivers of Adventure for the Jungle River Cruise is so wide is because HKDL didn't have a Frontierland when they opened, so they built these two to compensate Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America
Putting the Tree House on Tom Sawyers Island was freeking genius! It looks 10X more exotic that way. But you have to hand it to Walt, he did what he could with the original Disneyland, and for its time it was spectacular. Look what that humble original has given birth to!
Lol yeah but remember The OG of Disney parks (Walt's paradise his land) Disneyland was like a smaller built one, now it did expand over time but it's kinda small and so there is a a lot of stuff but yeah it's more of a river at that one.
I can't believe how fast they run their boats compared to Calif. Disneyland! I think they need to hide those red spotlights submerged in the water during the first half of the ride a little better too. I found them distracting from the jungle scene. LOVED the boat operator. So cute, and quite understandable even with the thick accent.
Awww the tiny baby elephant at the end is freakin' adorable. :) I also like the volcanic ending. It's always so fun to see the differences and similarities between the US Parks and the other Countries. I hope to visit this one someday, as Shanghai Disneyland is my favourite out of the parks outside the US from the videos I've seen.
This ride is pretty good! Animatronics are very realistic. I went on once and our guide did a very good job. He kept it exciting and interesting. The fire bit is actually quite scary though, especially if you sit on the side that is close to the source coz you can feel the heat.
+Trend101Warrior actually Disneyland Paris and Shanghai Disneyland is larger than Disneyland in Anaheim. WDW is the largest, Shanghai Disneyland is second, Disneyland Paris is third, Disneyland is fourth, Tokyo Disneyland is fifth, and Hong Kong Disneyland is last.
@Trend101Warrior Most people would actually rate it something like 1. Tokyo 2. Disney World 3/4. Personal preference on whether the disneyland or disneyland paris resort is better 5. Shanghai 6. Hong Kong

Just Imagine it's not popular among the locals so it's only crowded during school holidays. It's rather small. At opening they only had Adventureland, Fantasyland amd Tomorrowland. They have added Toy Story Land, Grizzly Gulch (their version of Frontierland) and Mystic Point (unique to Hong Kong and has the best ride in the park: Mystiv Manor). Okay. I want Florida to have that finale!
Nope, it’s Hong Kong’s special
They have scripts so that their commentary is slightly different each time. However they are still constantly receiving training on the use of the microphone, English pronunciation and how to deliver their memorized scripts for the best 'impact'. As for the ride itself, the actual journey time has been shortened. Boats would stop longer at each attraction but they don't do so now, especially during peak season.
