Annie is so sweet and has a kind heart. I have seen her give food as a gift to her family and even the zoo keeper. Aww. This is a free loving girl. My hope for her is when she eventually grows up and has a family of her own that she has a silverback that is kind to her. 🏵
I endear the whole family. I love grandma Nene. She is so cute with her quivering lip and tongue that hangs out. I believe she is around 80 in human years. She ages gracefully as she is petite. And she has a lovely family.
This is the only Gorilla family ive seen that actually gives other members food. Even if they dont want any. Annie at the end looks like a nervous child giving their mom or dad a personal gift.
I wish a zoo would teach a group of gorillas to share. Feel it would be huge if they started to share but gorillas are like dogs they will eat until they puke so they get extremely defensive of food. But they should match annie with either Gentaro or Loopy Lope. Or match Loopy Lope with Gentaro and bring brothers also, if they were to fight loopy Lope would put wooping on both Gentaro and Kintaro.
@@deniied5414 The sharing in this group is probably learned behavior. Though that said when they are in their natural habitat, it's like they live in a salad bowl. So there is no reason to share, and no reason to take either (except maybe fruit?). Assuming their habitat is the ideal one they adapted to in the first place.

@@evo2542 FYI: It is the mountain gorillas who eat mostly leaves and grass. Western lowland gorillas eat mostly fruit ..67% fruit 30% leaves and grass. Mountain gorillas are the ones who's diet is composed of 86% leaves, grass. 3% fruit.
Me too! Gentaro is such a sweet and playful Gorilla-Boy. I think he would adore the Beautiful Annie and maybe even teach her how to do his cute "Hop,Clap & spin Dance" with the Keepers. I think, despite Annie's hard start and rejection, she is a very sensitive and sweet Gorilla-Girl and would be a great Mommy as she would give the love and protection to her baby she never had but watched Kiyo get from Nene. And with both their beautiful faces and eyes, imagine how adorable their baby would be! Annie and Kiyo are so close. They will be heartbroken when they part. Annie would do better with a sweet and playful Mate, like Gentaro. I REALLY HOPE they are matched!! It would be great seeing them start and having a family. We watched them grow up. How cool to see them start the next generation! Fingers crossed! ;-)
They should get Nene some stairs to get inside. It is starting to look to hard for her to get in there. Poor Girlie, It sucks to get old but still doing good Nene!
7:38 is a special scene. I love how Shabani already knows what Annie is going to do before she does it. He blocks that dirt she threw while barely paying attention to it. She wants to play but he basically told her that it's time to move to the next area, not time to play.

This past year Nene's age has really accelerated, she has slowed down and her face is so much more wrinkled. I don't think her and big daddy will be doing any hanky lanky anymore. It's been about a year since their last "encounter". I just hope the zoo is giving her something for the arthritis that she clearly has, especially in her elbows. 😇🦍

Ai is on birth control. For whatever reason due to Nene being around, it makes Ai less interested in having children. That said this was when Annie was 1 or 2 and Ai is much more mature now. Nene is still higher than Ai on the female totem pole as Ai is a very nice gorilla and cares about Nene. Nene cares about her but focused on Kiyo a lot more.
I doubt it, there are not enough females in breeding program. I hope they take Aii off contraceptives because Shabani is an amazing father and there is a dire need of females. Baby Kintaro will eventually need a mate too in the future and Aii is one of the few females in Asia not related to Momotaro troop.

That is a very black and white way of looking at this. Even if you wanted to think of it like prison, Shabani's family enclosure is one of the best gorilla enclosures out there. There are MUUUUUUUUCH worse. In the USA I think, there was a store owner who bought a random mom and pop store, or a giftstore of some kind (I think), which had bought a gorilla as a baby. They put the small gorilla in a small concrete room, where people can see the gorilla through glass. It's the size of a kids bedroom, and it's nothing but concrete. Then they expanded it a bit when he got older... yay slightly bigger concrete room.... but the gorilla had basically never been outside or seen another gorilla by the time he was a silverback. Just people coming in and out of the store to see his prison. But the store owner didn't want to sell him because it was an attraction that brought people into his shop and bought his worthless crap. I think the gorilla was finally moved through the legal system. There are videos of it on youtube but I can't find it right now.

Oh my. These gorillas are thin. Where are their climbing poles, rails. Their behavior is not right, they don’t lick walls, and leave their mouths open. They have zero to do, there’s no food, no straw, they are thin and bored. Their arms and legs are too thin. This doesn’t look right. Give them food and toys and things to climb on, some straw a blanket
These gorillas are not thin they have a diet of up to 5 meals a day, if their inside enclosure is to be cleaned the keepers scatter the food outside and let them out to forage similar to how they would in the wild, the keepers then clean the inside of the huge habitat and scatter more food around ready for their next feed, the inside habitat has plenty of platform’s ropes with plenty of objects to hide from each other while playing chases plus doors to run in and out chasing each other . They have their sleeping area downstairs which they get wood-wool to make a comfy bed and while eating their food they are monitored as that is the reason the silverbacks were dying of heart attack’s by eating far to much of the wrong foods. The reason Nene’s mouth is always loosely opened is she has no teeth.
These garrilla s are very skinny they clearly are starving them to death 5 meals a day is not enough for 3 tp4 hundred pounds garrilla in the wild they eat all day theyv. Vegetarian they need to have plants to eat all day and banana s and other vegetables s they look sick and depressed those fake grass need to go and they inclosure is too small. They aging. Nené's "grandmother" is much healthier than other younger gorillas 😏
She is healthy. She does have arthritis issues. But her fur looks as good as Ai with her fur. So she will be around for a while to come.
