    When someone steals your electricity like that, you pull the plug, chop it off the end of the wire and leave the cable where it lies. She won't be plugging in that cord again. She can't file charges for damaging property without confessing to a crime herself.

      I always turn my outside water and electrical hookups off from inside the house when I'm not using them. I've had plenty of NFH before. I suppose Karen would feel entitled to just break into the house and take a chance on meeting an armed homeowner.

      That one only works with self aware people. 😅 Karens do not count.

      Unplug, cut the cord at the property boundary and see how long they’re willing to support the loss.

      Why didn't OP just go to the electrical box inside his home & switch off the breaker(s) that feed power to the outside plugs? This story is a little hard to believe.

    That Karen stealing power from her neighbor is very lucky the op didn't have a permit to carr, or Karen might be pushing up flowers because she pointed a handgun at the op.

    In the second story, if op decides to go camping, I'd make sure to invest in a good security system and really good door locks, in case your brother finds out about your trip and tries to take the house

    Story 1 is an example of Karen Rule # 0014: "Karens never apologize, they double down."

  • @ThomasWLalor
    @ThomasWLalor Рік тому +8

    Story 1; YOU simply unplugged Karen YOU needed to sever the cable, cutting is more permanent. UNPLUG first then chop off to separate the length. Easier to just turn off those circuits from you power panel. Question tho?? HOW did she get that idiocy into the legal system?? A proper lawyer wouldn't have helped. Any legal assistant / law clerk would not have filed. I suspect this story has been "AMPED UP" from BS

    • @pathfinderlight
      @pathfinderlight Рік тому +2

      Story 1: OP was a woman, no mention of electrical expertise. Household electricity is probably not in her wheelhouse. Sure, flipping breakers is an easy fix for someone who knows what she's doing, but if you've never heard of or had to deal with breakers, it's another issue. Also, you can file a case pro-se without any legal experience at all, even if it's crazy. Then the respondent will have to pony up for a lawyer to untangle all the deceit, fabrications, and misrepresentations at the cost of however many dollars per hour. $50,000 in electricity is ungodly expensive, though. It's like YEARS of electrical bills even if you do something stupid, like NBC's A/C open-aired tent.

    Yeah, electrictity is free, right? I'm surpsised that garden hoses and a demand for the wifi password did't come out. On a vaguely related story about plugging in to the neighbour's house, years ago I worked for a guy who built a spec house once a year (kind of a semi retirement thing). I noticed that our air compressor and power tools were powered from the neighbour's house. The explanation was simple - it cost a lot of money for permits and electricians and delays to have a temporary power service, with a meter, installed. Instead the boss just talked to the neighbour. He paid to have a heavy duty breaker installed in her home panel (which she got to keep) and, based on past usage, he paid most of her regular electricity bill plus what he used for the three months construction was happening. Had a written contract and everything. He saved money, she saved money. She was also thrilled that the rotting dump next door to her was torn down and replaced with a fine looking house. She wasn't so thrilled with the feral peacock that adopted our worksite as a home but that's another story.

    S1 Even in my third world country, we have options other than stealing from a neighbor!
    a) find where the wires to the house start from, on the pole, and fix the burnt fuse that is preventing current flowing to your house
    b) go to town and hire a DG set to provide a min amount of electricity for water pump, light, fan, computer
    c) go to Malwart or similar shop and buy a DG set - ditto-
    d) Buy a solar panel + LED lamp with battery

    Just in case anyone needs to know this. Night owl cameras do not need a computer . It comes with how ever many cameras in the package that you get , and a hard drive system which is where the footage is saved to. All you need is wifi , a tv with hdmi port , and to know if you want to run wires or not. They come as wireless ( you just plug the cameras into a socket and that’s it ), wired ( you have to run the wires from the camera to the hard drive and a power outlet, or they now have battery wireless ( no wires at all) . I paid 370 ( us money) for mine and got it on sell. wireless 8 channel hard drive with 4 cameras and if I want to add 4 more cameras later on i can . And there is no fees . You just buy the system and install it , connect to your tv, and set up with wifi

    story 1 - why wouldn't you start reporting Karen to the utility and police immediately after she started trespassing and stealing electricity? Why keep playing games with some entitled lunatic for weeks? And she made threatening statements that could have been leveraged into a restraining order long before things got as far as they did. And why did the judge just sit on his butt while she made more threatening statements inside his courtroom?

    Electricity theft? Have someone video you unplugging it and chopping off the cord where it comes on to your property. Cords aren't cheap. Years ago I put in an outdoor outlet so I could put a heat lamp on my VW motor in winter. I ran it through a switch in the basement with a signal light to show when it was live.
