Incredible job. Amazing work. How does one get in contact with you to commission a job. The saber is beautiful and definitely one of a kind masterpiece. Take care. MTFBWY, Always. You definitely got your Masters degree in saber building .
Katie Keagy Many Thanks for the video compliment>> The small magnets are from eBay (see link) and the switch covers are scrap metal screens I have left over from many years of model building. Do you build Sabers? For me it’s been thee most addictive hobby ever. Proceed with caution..........Ha!! www.ebay.com/itm/10-20-50PCS-Strong-Block-Round-Rare-Earth-Neodymium-NdFeB-Permanent-Magnet-DIY/332280987583?hash=item4d5d7d7fbf%3Am%3AmwVLWva7XMNOBP_qXCHsemQ&var=541288348922
Thanks for the help. I havent built one yet but I didnt get Graflex parts. I decided I wanted to do my own version of Starkiller's duel LS based (loosely) on TFU game. I didnt get the electronics yet because I'm still deciding how I want to work everything out. I assume you use magnetic switches so you can pull the button off and then slide the main core out without having to disconnect the wires from the switch.
Katie Keagy The Starkiller is actually my favorite hilt in the entire SW Universe Yes the magnetic switch setup is for removing the core and now there is another technique for the aux switch that is also being used on the Graflex in this video that uses a rocker type switch so you never have to remove the aux slide tab switch from the hilt and potentially lose it>> Enjoy and May the Force Be With You on your future builds>>>>>
So damned cool! The ESB version is, in my opinion, the very best iteration of this saber. Just the smaller T-grips and added rivets made all the difference in appearance. That close up of the saber frozen in the snow really showed the detail and how cool it really was. The kyber crystal reveal is the icing on the cake! All lightsabers should come with the reveal. It just doesn't seem like a real lightsaber without it. The blue is beautiful and bright. This is my all-time favorite hilt with Anakin's AOTC version as a close second. This one is the epitome of what a lightsaber should be though. It was the first one to be shown, albeit a bit different in ANH and a bit bulkier with the bigger grips. I had a Black Series of that one and it didn't feel as comfortable as the Rey Parks addition, which is a lower end version of this one. This one is bad ass! Now for that $64,000 question: how much was this at the time of purchase? Obviously, I'm a late comer to a 2 year old video. I know that the MB Sabers version is around $5,000! While very cool indeed, that's ALOT money to pay for a replica..or, a big boy's toy. Why $5k? Why does it have to be so damn expensive? Everybody wants one so there must be a way to get that price down. The materials can't be that steep to buy or make on a 3D printer. So, what justifies the cost? The question still stands on this maker: how much do they charge? The reveal seems to be one of the main reasons for the price. The sound is amazing! I'm not a big fan of the movie quotes though. I prefer the saber to be a saber, if you know what I mean. The blue color is fine by itself and the saber fonts are all it needs. A green or red Graflex just doesn't seem natural to me. Each one was unique and had it's own color. You didn't see Yoda cycling through, saying: "Hmm. Yellow, today, have will I!" Vader's wouldn't be Vader's if it wasn't sith red. The same with Dooku's and even Windu's purple crystal which has a significant meaning of balance between light and dark sides of the force. Blue and red make.. purple, right? Initially, Samuel Jackson just wanted the color so his would stand out. Eventually, the saber took on a life of it's own, giving his character a deeper back story. You can just see the control of the dark side during his battle with Sideous. The look on his face says it all! "I'm going to kill you here and now, once and for all." He would have if that stupid kid would have just listened to him and stayed back at the council chambers! Anyway, you get the picture. So, is it possible to get certain things like just the one color and does this help to bring the price down a bit? It does at other companies like Saber forge because I've priced them.. but, I WANT that reveal along with quality sound more than anything! I see all of these 'stunt' sabers for sale online with NO sound! Why would you even buy one without sound? The sound is a must! The reveal is more of a luxury but it really does complete the package. The story behind it tells how the kyber is a requirement for the Jedi to complete the saber. The Sith's are synthetic and apparently turned red by bleeding from unnecessary death caused by anger..or, something to that effect, if I remember right from the Book of Sith.
Are they CSS chassis parts or did you get them elsewhere? Also did you mill the pommel or was that a found part? Awesome job though man really impressed
Alex Fletcher The Chassis disks were custom cut on my acrylic Laser cutter and the rest are found parts modified with a dremel...The pommel is also an anodized aluminum found part and milled to accept the two speakers and wire passages Thank You for the compliments and questions and MTFBWY>>
Spencer Williamson Because the 2.5 is a completely different Saber internally from a Vintage or Vintage replica it would drastically change the layout...You can contact us on Facebook at the following link for a quote>> Thank You and MTFBWY!! m.facebook.com/MasterMaltais/
