    Im gonna call shenanigans on a lot of those "line breaks". I think you were too hard on yourself. If you send it straight through the dot and a little crinkle makes its way to the edge, im calling it a 5. But then again, thats why im not in charge of scoring.

      There are some guys, here, scoring these targets that way, so you are not the only one. I just submitted my target to Elijah, so we will see what the official score is. He's really the one that has to judge it. However, if some guys in these youtube videos are scoring them that way, and confirming that they talked to Elijah and their score stands, then we will see. One guy told me, you can't go by the carbon ring, or the "paper tear", but rather where the bullet hole is. I question that myself, but we'll see what Elijah says.

      @@lmbear very true. If it does happen to be the case that where the paper tears out to is the score, now we all have to agree on a certain paper type and hydration of said paper lol. That's as much a rabbit hole as reloading itself.

      I agree it's not a line break if it's a 5, and it is a line break to make a 2 😂😂 I think it should be cleared up. This was great shooting and deserves his 5's!! 😊

    John, you can’t help it if the paper ripped, if you can stick a shot checker inside the hole and it don’t break the line your good, rips don’t count. I’d say you have a few more fives in there buddy!

    I personally think most of those paper tears are 5's especially that bottom row left top?

      Thank you I appreciate that. Elijah bumped the score after he scored it and I think he agreed with you.

    I've never seen a match where a tear in the paper counts for the score. It is the wax circle of the bullet hole that counts. Wow you are way under scored. And fix the focus on that camera. I got a headache just trying to watch. BTW! GREAT SHOOTING!!!

    With 22lr lead round nose, I'm not sure if it's possible to perfectly center punch the green dot and not have the "spider web lines" cut the black ring 🤷‍♂️. Maybe using wad cutters. But also maybe that's the point of the rule. You could perfectly center punch every green dot and you still have to "get lucky" to not break the ring. So that would make sense with the theme of the match. Your shooting is still 100 miles beyond what mine will ever be on my best day, regardless of the score.

    Definitely harder than one would think. Last tried the Grinchmas Challenge. Was a low score, but pretty tough nonetheless.

    Wet targets are very difficult to score, I believe you did better than you scored yourself.

    Nice shooting! Im hoping I can get my RimX finished in time to shoot this challenge. I just need to order a V2 tuner/adapter. If not, ill be going back to the Savage Mark II.

    Yeah I’d score based on the grease ring. Those paper tears are really caused by your low quality paper. If you had printed those targets on card stock you wouldn’t have had tears like that. But every paper target will show that grease ring. Doesn’t seem fair to score based on the quality of paper used. Also probably wouldn’t have those tears if you had glued the target to a fresh backer. It looks like one of the previous posts indicated that Elijah adjusted your score though.
    Side question, do you think your group sizes increase when shooting in drizzling conditions? Have you done any testing for the effect a bullet striking a raindrop might have? I’d assume the pressure wave in front of the bullet would deflect most raindrops from touching the bullet but I still wonder what effect the rain has. I assume you F-Class guys may have tested this a bit with some statistical significance.

    • @lmbear
      @lmbear 6 місяців тому

      I also shot mine in the light rain, and used cheap copy paper, where I got multiple "paper tears". Used a 10/22, so we'll see how it fares against some of these highly accurate bolt guns. Elijah seemed like a very nice guy, when emailing him my targets and pictures of rifle and range.

    Nice shooting John. I think you under scored on some of those as the bullet itself didn't break the line. Would be interested in what the official scorer has to say.

    We score the carbon ring, we also have a magnifying glass that has a 22 dumby sticking in the center that you can stick it in the bullet hole to verify.

      "WE". What does Eli do? He's the one that made up this target and rules. In the fine print, it says, "2 points if the border of the circle is broken". If I were to play by your rules, I just scored an 80 with my 10/22. If Elijah chimes in and says you are right, I'll gladly re-adjust my score.

      Yeah I'm sorry about that. It's the one thing I really hate about the TriggerCam. I had focus set but something must've moved and you can't tell when you're using it. I'm making some changes before the next video that should help prevent this from happening again.

      @@FClassJohn I was sure you forgot to turn off the "long range imitation blurryness filter" on your recorder 😂. Joke aside, I find it interesting how the lens is much sharper at edges, when out of focus at center. I guess it's a proof of a not too good quality lens?

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  7 місяців тому

      @@sidekickbob7227 The lens on the Leupold is crystal sharp, it's the stupid focus on the TriggerCam and because of how it 'views' the scope it has a varied focal plane from center to outside.

    • @sidekickbob7227
      @sidekickbob7227 7 місяців тому

      @@FClassJohn Of course is the lens of the scope crystal clear! I was thinking of the recorder. You can see the 20 are quite sharp, while the center is out of focus. Just found it interesting. -It got me wondering if the outer border gets just as blurry when the center is in focus? Nice shooting BTW!
