How wonderful! A lovely snapshot of weather presentation from a bygone era. In the UK it was much more sedate, almost soporific! Here, forecasts are bit hysterical now, sadly. Thanks for the upload! 🙂👍
A freaking amazing... my birthyear... Besides the chalk board with the flip-out, and the $12 alignment for $6 special.. and the first Datsun being sold at a Chevrolet dealership... The impact of television and that it was black and white, maybe none... void of color studies?... prolly not. I'm gonna copy this link to my fav weather guys.
There was a remarkable crazy weatherman on WRBL channel 3 in Columbus, GA who went absolutely wild with his chalk weather maps which were done on camera. They were barely comprehendable. He would be breathless after he finished. He would then toss his chalk in the air and catch it. I have never been able to find any information on him. They don’t have anything about him on their website. There is info on The Roselle Show (a housewife home economics, cooking, etc. show), and Sportsman’s Lodge (hunting and fishing). I think his name might have been Doug.
