To all the negative ppl out there...this was an original show "Sextette" MaeWest had written in 1925. In 1928 in NYC the show was raided after over 200 performances. They took Ms. West to jail and found guilty for basically corrupting young men with the show. It was waaaay to racey for 1928. She was sentenced to 10 days in jail ( which I'm sure they would know if she was a man upon search). So by 1978 , at age 86, she decided to re-do Sextette, considering times have changed. ...ummm, but time didn't change Mae West, still racey, still pushing the envelope in entertainment. Ya'all ought to read about Mae West....she was waaaay ahead of her time in many, many ways. A writer, director, composer, producer, philanthropist, supported her whole family, real estate mogul, wrote her own contracts, and much more. And she really only had a 5th grade education. ...... I wish I could have an afternoon tea with Mae West. I wouldn't be doing alot of talking....just listening, and learning.
Disco Alice meets The Late Great Mae West! Great you got to meet one of my heros, she was really amazing for her time! Wow radical departure from your typical style, but you could do anything, ya got talent, Babe!I forgot you were in this. Was fun.
Alice claims he hated disco but between this, "From the Inside," "You Gotta Dance" and more recently, "Disco Bloodbath Boogie Fever," I don't know... :-D
From the Inside didn't have any disco on it. You're thinking of something else. Goes to Hell has a song on it called "You Gotta Dance". Awful. And in Lace and Whiskey he has a song called "No More Love At Your Convenience." Very disco-ish. Then again, he was going through serious alcoholism when he did those 2 albums. They were the next 2 LPs following Welcome To My Nightmare.
Alice Cooper is a genius. He is so diversified, he can sing.. dance.. entertain.. he is awesome! (PS: Didn't that little strut at the end remind you of Travolta's strut?! LOL!
For sure! 70s Alice was his prime! Voice was in top form, working with great people, etc. Doesn't get any better than those original albums by the "Alice Cooper" (band)
Ultimately, it's things like this in life that you do, that either way, give you great stories to tell later in life. Cooper's stories from this I'm sure he looks back at crazy yet fondly. Today, he leads such a staid, reserved life of golf and more golf.
WTF?! xDDDDDDD Wow, now I know why he's called a shock rocker! I'm indeed shocked now! *rofl* Very nice! ThX for uploading! *giggles* OMG, my tummy's aching now!
Oh Alice, that side of you is ... unbelievable, but I don't care what everybody is writing about this song and the movie - I love it and Mae West too - she's a legend!!!
This is my second favourite bit in this film. It is mind blowing, but it isn't the colossal mind fuck that is Timothy Dalton singing/drooling to Mae West.
Alice is versatile, I'le say that, much more than I ever realized. May West certainly did'nt look 80 there, she looked more like 50. Was that old Dom Deluise at the end there?
Oh, what the hell.....Alice is obviously just having a romp for fun. It is hardly an actual, new direction! I have this movie on DVD. OK, it ain't "Gone With The Wind", but to see Mae West not looking too bad for 80-something, having a romp with Ringo Starr, Alice Cooper and Keith Moon is silly fun. Amazing that she got to play scenes with both W.C. Fields and Alice Cooper. Talk about time travel!
Decline meaning Billion Dollar Babies went #1,and Schools Out #2.Then in the early eighties albums like Zipper Catches Skin,Da Da, didn't even make the charts.Alice went from playing stadiums to playing small theatres. Then Alice came back with the successful Constricter tour, and then Poison was a huge hit.
Alice started doing coke in 1978, with Bernie Taupin. Sextette was shot in '77, just before he was "taken to the hospital" to cure his alcohol disorder. Anyway, I fucking LOVE this song. Alice rules, always has, always will.
He wasn't cured yet. His next bout with serious drugs & booze happened in 1983. That's when he got sober for the final time. He has been clean ever since.
Okay, let's see if I understand all this. Mae West went to an Alice Cooper concert and liked it? Then Alice Cooper appears in a Mae West movie (along with Keith Moon) doing a Barry Manilow-like song and looking like a reject from the Love Boat? I've slipped into a parallel universe again, haven't I?
Yep .that's right. That was the Genius of Mae West. She worked only with co-stars she either picked or approved. And yes, she was taken to Coops show by Grouch Marx, thought The Coops show was great. Many vaudevillian performers still in Hollywood went to Coops show as something Vaudeville. Which in a twist It Was..... Grouch Marx did much to help promote Alice.... Hello Alice...lol
anyone know if the black male dancer is the same guy who was a dancer in alice’s madhouse rock tour? i am terrible with faces but his enthusiasm, hair, and facial hair seem to match up to me, plus the timeline makes sense as that was the 1979 tour. he’s fantastic, i could watch him dance all day!
This had to have been a movie they film, showed, and buried in the most remote wooded area they could find. Though what is interesting is seeing THE Mae West with Alice Cooper with his make up off.
This guy went on to do the mighty 'Constrictor' album of '86... who wouda thought! Wonder if theres any footage of Barry Manilow doing a shock rock /gillotine and headless chicken performance?
OK, so the film is not "Gone With The Wind", but it is a fun romp and everyone in the film seems to be playing it for camp. Mae doesn't exactly look 30, but she could easily pass for her early 60s......20 years younger than she actually was!
Alcohol yes,but appearances on The Muppet Show and Hollywood squares did piss alot of fans off.Sorry if the truth hurts.I am just glad that Alice rocks so hard today.Love his new album by the way.
Alice Cooper was friends with a lot of Hollywood legends who started in Vaudeville, including Mae West as well as Groucho Marx and many others. He must have done the part as a favor for West.
Looks at Alice's eyes.....he's looks like he's about to cry. Can't say I blame him...terrible movie AND Mae was hitting on him the entire time he was on set.
lOL! That's why it's so funny! Alice Cooper's rock persona is the complete opposite of this character he plays in this film. The coolest people don't take themselves seriously..
Heh.. he's older by four years... i got into the Coop through him... I think he was just gobsmacked that this 'permed ponce' (as HE put it) could be one and the same genius who gave us Dead Babies and I love The Dead, etc. Don't worry, I got him to get over himself... it's a spoof so he can handle it.
A real gentleman? "Cooper - who starred alongside the veteran actress in the movie Sextette in 1978 - reveals West was very keen to romance the then 30-year-old singer and even invited him back to her trailer - an offer the star vehemently refused. He says, "Did she come onto me? You bet she did. We ended one of our scenes and Mae whispered to me, 'Why don't you come on back to my trailer?' I said, 'Because you're 86-years-old and I'm not sure if you're a woman or not!'" - Starpulse

I effin' love this movie. Funniest damn thing; about a dozen songs and singers, and Alice is the only one who can hold a note.
All laughs aside, man, he's versatile, proving he can carry an alto tune really well.
too bad he is so eager of being in the role as a 'horror' rocker. I am in to hard and heavy rock but what i loved with Alice was his unpredictability.
@@knockup100 I thought his work with Taupin was just genius. I like heavy rock too but would love to hear his ballads at shows.
@@benkleschinsky Check out his ballad “No Time For Tears” which was recorded for this movie, but was not used. You’ll love it.
"oh hello Alice." Dom Deluise LOL!
That's the best line in the whole movie lol.
Precision timing from Dom.
I can’t help but wonder who these four dancers are and what happened to them after having been part of this legendary historic event.
They're very good, it looks very strange how they twist their heads like that.
Disco Alice meets The Late Great Mae West! Great you got to meet one of my heros, she was really amazing for her time! Wow radical departure from your typical style, but you could do anything, ya got talent, Babe!I forgot you were in this. Was fun.
Wtf? Alice Cooper in something like this?! *looks at the year* Ohhhhhh, 1978! It's a wonder he was even conscious during that year.
Stop crying
Alice claims he hated disco but between this, "From the Inside," "You Gotta Dance" and more recently, "Disco Bloodbath Boogie Fever," I don't know... :-D

@@rememberthecoop1 if i remember correctly the theory behind “you gotta dance” was that he’s in hell, so disco is par for the course.
He also did some new wave/disco type tracks in the blackout era.
@@rememberthecoop1 The song from the inside definitely has a disco feel to it
No need to apologize for Alice's disco stuff...it is all fantastic
!!!!
This is great I absolutely adore Mae West.
Welcome to his nightmare. I don't think you're gonna like it. You're gonna feel like going home.
LOL
Mae and Alice were really good friends. It was Mae who went to a show during Alice's 1973 Billion Dollar Babies tour and said it was good Vaudeville.
Alice's parents were Vaudevillians.....
He kind of looked like a skinny, dark-haired Barry Manilow, and he looked unrecognizable from afar.
he looks like Bert Convy, but he does sound like Barry Manilow...
The funny part is his voice is suited to almost any type of music very good singer but yeah alcoholism was killing him at this point
Alice Cooper is a genius. He is so diversified, he can sing.. dance.. entertain.. he is awesome!
(PS: Didn't that little strut at the end remind you of Travolta's strut?! LOL!
This is my favorite sounding Alice Era. Love his voice
For sure! 70s Alice was his prime! Voice was in top form, working with great people, etc. Doesn't get any better than those original albums by the "Alice Cooper" (band)
Oh...my..God....MY BRAIN HAS EXPLODED!!!!!
Such a versatile performer!! They were great friends in private life, as well.
Ultimately, it's things like this in life that you do, that either way, give you great stories to tell later in life. Cooper's stories from this I'm sure he looks back at crazy yet fondly. Today, he leads such a staid, reserved life of golf and more golf.
This is the third time I'm going to say this:
Alice Cooper plays Greg Brady in Sextette!
Love it or hate it, the Coop got to share the screen with Mae West and that's fucming awesome!
I'm trying to convince my brother this is the Coop and he's REFUSING to believe it!
This song "Next, Next" was written & produced by Van McCoy who also scored at hit with "The Hustle" in 1975.
What a fun movie! I can't believe it didn't do better when it was first released.
We need more movies like this one.
Alice does not play the piano in this scene, but he is singing. Long live the COOP!!!!!!
"WOOOOOOOOOOO!" XD
WTF?! xDDDDDDD Wow, now I know why he's called a shock rocker! I'm indeed shocked now! *rofl*

Oh. My. God. That's HILARIOUS
Alice is versatile, I'le say that, much more than I ever realized. May West certainly did'nt look 80 there, she looked more like 50. Was that old Dom Deluise at the end there?
Alice looked like he belonged on The Love Boat 🤣
truly amazing.

So Awesome
Where can I find a hotel like this 😄😄😄😄

I know he did lots of cocaine back in the day but DAYUM!
I don't think he was on cocaine at this time. It started in the early 80s. This was right after he stopped drinking.
Alice started doing coke in 1978, with Bernie Taupin. Sextette was shot in '77, just before he was "taken to the hospital" to cure his alcohol disorder. Anyway, I fucking LOVE this song. Alice rules, always has, always will.

My God! It's...Alternaverse Alice!!!
Mae is a phenomenon
Yes the drinking revealed some part of Alice that actually liked disco he named it Morice Escargot.

Alice Cooper IS Greg Brady.
I MUST OWN THIS MOVIE!
Alice Is a God

Alice Is The Best ❤️

I had to check this on IMDB to really believe this lol
I really can't get over how old she is in this. I probally would after a couple of pints.

Oh, hello Alice.
is Alice the one on the piano?
no...he's the fat lady with the white hair...cmon !!!! helloooooooo !!!!
hahahahahahahaha sorryyyy
it was a jooke, cause people think alice is a giiirll...... course i know who alice iss...
He sounds like Cher on this song, too!
Yes. Alice Cooper has a very nice voice underneath his rock persona.
Holy shit 1:39 that black dude's head nearly flew off!
1:18 Alice realizes how bad the movie's going to turn out. You can see it in his face.
Alice Cooper without his goth getup looks like Jerry Sinfeild!
@tonka989 This is his only appearance in the film.
Is this what happens when someone divides by zero?
"Oh, hello Alice."
it's great to have all this 'camp' on film but I don't think it was Mae's intention to be remembered quite this way.
Looks at Alice's eyes.....he's looks like he's about to cry. Can't say I blame him...terrible movie AND Mae was hitting on him the entire time he was on set.

alice cooper with short hair... now i've seen it all xD
How will you look at 85?
lOL! That's why it's so funny! Alice Cooper's rock persona is the complete opposite of this character he plays in this film. The coolest people don't take themselves seriously..

I never though the prince of darkness singing this. It's very funny.

It was decisions like this(and his appearance on the Muppet show)that sent his career into a decline in the 70's.
I noticed that in this film there weren't any MCU or ECU shots of Mae. Makes me wonder...
This is the scene from " Sextette" that features Alice Cooper.
That's his real hair, curly, too.
Alice Cooper is hot!
haha, too funny. Go the multi personalities of Alice
Disco Alice Cooper.
This movie is terrible but this is a legit jam.
Love the neck whip move by the black male dancer!
David voigt This is the greatest movie ever made. 😂
@AliceCooperInsanity I was just joking, but either would be interesting & amusing!
Is that Mae West??
Oh, hullo Alice.
Could the direction be any more wooden?
The bell-hop at 2:21? That ain't Faceman.
As I said months ago: is that Alice Cooper or Greg Brady?
This is more Vincent Furnier than Alice :) back to Hollywood Squares, Alice - lol - fun and nothing more.
Alice was also on an episode of the “Ladmo” show in Phoenix.
