Love Cedrick! Segregation is awful, absolutely disgusting that even universities are trying to bring back segregation 😔

I got to meet Cedric the Entertainer and watch him perform when he came to Bahrain in Dec. 2001 to entertain us Air Force airman on a USO tour. What a stand up guy (no pun intended)…With him were Jay Leno, Willie Barcena, and singers Dwight Yoakam & Chris Isaak. For a random group of singers and comics, they sure made my Xmas that year. Cedric had a bit about bin Laden stealing his moms bed sheets from the laundry for his long white turbans. The joke killed. Thanks Cedric!!!

I lived there my Great Granny is from there, thankfully never experienced it in 70s we borrowed eggs, sugar off each other. We all got along fine.
Cedric promised a park for Caruthersville that he claims he loves, but never started. Don't say you're gonna give back to your community , you mean turn back on.
Sheryl Crow same area a couple towns over built swimming pool and new tennis courts for school.

I grew up knowing the white side of town and black side of town in Caruthersville. I think that culturally it is still that way. I would have a tough time if, I had to move back into that enviornment.

Wow, I did not know that about the C'ville restaurant. But we were were low middle class white kids and as far as I can remember we never went to any restaurant. I never went to a steak house until I was dating my now husband. So many of us in town were poor working class that I never knew we were.
It is nice that he has fond memories of the Caruthersville.

I feel Ced about mommy teaching how to use cutlery around the white people. I’m from Kansas City,MO and our family of five at the Hyatt Regency on Father’s Day prior to the devastating lives that were lost when the collapse happened in that hotel, rocked my world. My mothers interest in her children resides in me today, because I don’t care these days what color you are, my GROWN children know to be on their best behavior and etiquette.

From St. Louis born and raised and I remember when I was a kid when we would drive to MIssissippi or Memphis there were certain towns that were sun down towns. They probably still are but Ced is right when we were growing up in St. Louis you had the black side of town and the white side and you still do to this day.

I was a kid in the 1980s, and my parents were amazed at how different my childhood was from how they grew up in the south. There were still racists and people that self-segregated themselves. But the biggest difference in the 1980s, vs the previous generations, was Pop Culture. Pop Culture (Music, Film, Television, Sports, and Literature) became the instrument that destroyed certain racist ideologies and beliefs. From (1983 -1984), arguably the three most famous people in the United States were Eddie Murphy, Prince, and Micheal Jackson. And in 1983, you had a Talkshow host (Oprah Winfrey) that changed the face of television.

You act like segregation between people of different ethnicities It's not common when in fact it's extremely common. Hence the reason for the name Chinatown or where all the Chinese people Reside where they can Still practice their traditional customs together. Why wouldn't you want to be With like minded people who share your same values And Customs

The problem is the resources applied to those communities differ greatly. Also most minorities are found on the industrial ,usually east side of town close to the pollution having a detrimental effect on health.
