Erm the Diablo thing was a blood drive. Blood stores in the US are at historic lows. Maybe give them some kudos for trying to do a good thing, even if it is part of a marketing ploy.
19:19 And special wheels which are extremely good at reducing emission but not allowed to actually be used on street because of how little grip they would provide in even light rain.
Personally, I doubt it will ever be the Year of the Linux Desktop, but I'm glad to say that (as of last week), I've finally migrated my entire home environment to Linux! Windows is no longer a thing in my house! :D Gaming PC: openSUSE Tumbleweed (KDE Plasma Desktop) Laptop, Craptop (expendable work laptop), Writing Mini-PC: Linux Mint (Cinnamon Desktop) Media Server & File Server: Fedora Server
I still used win 10 on my gaming PC but switched 2 others to linux over the last month. I did try gaming on linux but the lack of hardware monitoring programs was annoying. also in linux my gpu idled at like 60C, on windows 25C. AMD driver issue?
Congrats on the conversion! I've been free from Windows for about a decade now, and I've gotta say, it's really rewarding in the long run. I used to dual boot. But MS has done too much BS to tolerate. There are plenty of great games that run well natively on Linux, or with Proton. Those that don't can die, as far as I'm concerned. It didn't take long for me to stop feeling like I was missing out. Now I see Windows and Windows-only software as a cancer. It's easy to not want.
My hybrid car says 58mpg EPA. I get 70 mpg just by driving 55 on the highway. The drag and braking reduces mpg. I also got 45 mpg on epa 4 28 mpg 2018 kia sportage by driving at 55mph.
28:31 They have a hardware encryption function, but it's been shown in the past to be unsecure by doing things like not actually encrypting, using a hard burned in key, using the same key for the same model of drive, etc. Use software encryption (with aes acceleration on the CPU)
“In the past” is probably not applicable to contemporary NVMe drives. Also, AES acceleration on the CPU doesn’t stop latency performance issues with small sector sizes, which software encryption suffers.
@@jeverett0902 By in the past I meant those stories were all from 2018-2020. It really isn't that long ago considering how long people keep storage devices. Microsoft should default to be secure over performance, especially since the people who don't know to change it likely wouldn't benefit from the speed improvements. If MS took away the ability to use HW encryption I would complain, but it shouldn't be the default.
The carplay article is missing the fact that people buy short range transmitters to play music in their cars because they either have no aux port on their phone or don't want cables. Good day y'all!
We’ll, since SEDutil is half-functional abandonware at this point, the most apt way to do hardware encryption is by jumping through the hoops to do it with BitLocker, which will probably put the key in the cloud/AD.
The wrist watch phone is for my Father in Law. He's wanted a smart watch that was a full phone for ages, and has been disappointed with every smart watch that isn't that and has resulted to some Weird Chinese Watch he's been pleased with...
teslas are already annoying, the regenerative braking is pretty strong, and there is no indication that the driver has taken their foot off the accelerator other than the tesla slows down quickly
Apple right to repair, well, where are smartphones warranty and free exchange and repair when on a monthly fee is added on your connection bundle? What makes a brand more attractive ect?
Chrome sucks with some site. Normally I use Brave. But there are some locations where I use Edge or Chrome. When I have an issue with a site in Brave I'll test it in Chrome and then if still problematic Edge.
RE: edge - I use it for common items because it’s the only browser that can leave icons on the toolbar at the bottom for each even when it is shut, for example UA-cam. On my taskbar there is a YT icon and I just click on it and it automatically opens Edge and goes to YT. I think I have 4 things I use Edge for.
The Minecraft mob vote is designed to do only 1 thing - it's a misdirection (magician's use this) to keep consumers from freaking out about the fact that Mojang is in development hell right now and they cannot get large features finished and put into the game (adding 1 creature to the game is not difficult, by comparison). This has been the case since before the epidemic, and this is the route the upper management is taking to avoid being honest with consumers.
Who wants to preserve most modern games where so many of them seem to be made to antagonize the player with the design choices and political messaging that invariably is shoved into the game? As to cloud only gaming coming on XBOX and PS5 I'm out and have been out for the longest time.
12:34 And this is why it is important to bring awareness to DRM-Free (digital or physical) instead of always buying physical, because bullshit DRM practices can still affect physical.
The silly thing about the Minecraft mob votes is that no matter what gets picked -- people just mod in the rest almost immediately if they feel slighted.
"Tesla warns that a federal probe into whether it exaggerated the range of its cars may lead to a 'material adverse impact on our business'" Translation: "If people find out we're lying out our [floppy drive], then they might not buy our stuff!"
As someone that has made a career out of managing Windows computers, I welcome my Linux overlords. If we can get Linux working (well) with Steam and Adobe's photo products. I would switch all of of my desktops.
Just a silly comment. I really like your work. A lot. The show is great, your hardware info is out of my league but always good to know ( what I can understand ) and watch your shows religiously for years. thanks for all your effort, you really deserve more subs and watchtime. Keep up the great work, from a retired IT monkey in BCN, Spain. 👍
I stopped buying Nintendo products after their last "real" competitive console was made. I don't want to game on a potato. I made the "switch" to PC gaming.
4:57 - and the M3 Pro Max laptops start at over $3K and you can't even download and play Genshin Impact or Honkai Rail Star without significant hacking.
Devember project? “RAID1” for a complete small VM/NAS home setup, meaning one of the two identical systems could completely fail at any given time and the client wouldn’t notice it. Or is this something too complicated?
you could run a certain version of minecraft, maybe 1.16 or something, instead of the latest. i don't really play minecraft lol but i would play xonotic.
Yeah, I remember. It was just a couple poor designs of early pre-NVMe models. And, people have been hysterical about it and suffering worse performance with software encryption ever since.
Re: Cybertruck, this surely will be fixed by a software update. Is this not a deliberate ploy to get this poorly received product back into news stories for a short while.
you are incorrect about gas car milage. highway milage is a combination of hills and flat road, you can always get better milage on the highway than the factory, if you are not it is defiantly the way you drive or you are driving over hills. Tesla has been documented by every single review on the cars from inception not achieving the claimed range. You should educate yourself before commenting on some subjects.
the problem I had with Devember was it was just kind of a bunch of videos reminding you to finish Devember before the deadline, but hardly any videos leading up to or announcing it, so every time I realize, its too late to do anything meangiful with the remaining time. Maybe this year I'll be ready and you guys won't do it =/
I don't think it's right they count qubits like it's all processing when 2/3 are error checking to disregard bits which have to be junked because part of the remaining 1/3 of qubits are prone to disentsnglement errors and are dropped entirely when they do... If we had 1,000 qubit processing that would be the end of AES and TLS encryption we all use hundreds of thousands of times per day for global financial market transactions alone.
legit thought this was a World Eaters lore video at first glance and almost ignored until second checking. Could we have more Warhammer content perhaps? Random thought.
Most times that I pause a video is to talk to someone else and have the computer/tv quiet while not missing conent. What I don't want to happen is to have loud ads playing at that exact time.
I listen to audiobooks from my phone for my car... if those are not available for some reason its NPR on FM... because commercial radio is just awful and painful to listen to.
Vanilla Minecraft is garbage. Both in mechanics and their “updates”. A lot of recent updates are directly from the modding community. They even hired the developer of The Arther mod. Official Deep Dark update was because of him. Selling out to Microsoft has not been good in any way.
I'm not interested in developing things for free; give me a clever meme to design and some neat crap if other people like it; why so sweaty about literally everything?
I love when the 40k references pop up
This year has passed by insanely fast.
Hey, thanks for checking in Captain Obvious and reiterating what was said in the video.
It gets worse as you get older.
Wendell’s notes about time passing fast could also get added to the Level1 Bingo catchphrase drinking game.

Diablo sorta brings a whole new definition to the term 'bleeding edge'.

Wait! Everyone is happy with Microsoft but Ryan. And now Krista. Krista never go to summer camp with Ryan. They'll make you shave that beautiful hair.

Did wendell say build your own speakers too? I never thought of that. Neat

Microsoft really is actively ruining Minecraft. I would have wanted to participate this year. But yeah, souring.
Munecat has a great doc on web3, This channel would enjoy
She is fun and smart.
Why would you ever not stream in a vehicle if you could?? Our elders have been too conditioned by ads.
