Wanted to thank you for the help with responding to my questions I had and everything went good . I just changed the seals , bearings looked good I did measure them and found some better high rpm ones from a bearing distributor. I’m in the market as well to try and change over from a v3 to ysi impeller and housing so thanks for that lol thanks again God Bless.
@@BMF_Garage Ah I see, would you happen to know anyone that does? I'm not mechanically inclined to take on this task myself and I don't want to mess up my vortech
@@BMF_Garage I don't know if you ever replied to this question but from your experience, how good of a quality is the rebuild kit from them? I just ordered the complete kit for my Paxton 2200SL
I’ve never had any issues with my kits from them and I’ve bought several. I also love their billet pullies. They give a lot more air flow in lower rpm for more low end power
The guys at procharger probably watching this thinking “at any second hes gonna beat that shaft through that high speed seal and ruin the seal….. oh flathead screw driver you say…..” ….😂
Go to supercharger rebuilds and order the parts you need and do it yourself 🤘🏻 it’s really easy. Or, you could always send me some pictures of it and I can give you an idea of cost
just bought a used v2 vortech and it came completely disassembled. it came with bearings but they had been separated from the input/impeller shafts. would it be a bad idea to reuse those bearings if they appear to be in good condition ?
I don’t think that was the point lol. They didn’t advertise it putting out what a ysi does snd I was the first to use their parts. Only a dyno would truly show results
Yes I did! It worked really well, just ran out of blower so I switched to a turbo. my only issue was heat soak because I was spinning it so fast lol. Always wanting more power!!
Quick question v3-vortech SC getting oil in the charge pipe and the inlet it’s an in closed oil system . What’s that caused from . Can side loading it mess up the seals . Cause I definitely got it tight ? I checked the bleeder and the level all is good . After you talking about side loading I may loosen it. I’m tearing it down tomorrow just wanted to see your thoughts .God Bless. Thank you
Side loading is what happens when the supercharger belt is REALLY tight. Naturally it pulls the crankshaft towards the supercharger when tensioning the belt. If it’s too tight, it can cause excessive wear on a lot of parts
Measure the depth of the housing where it sits on the blower to the inside of the cover… measure the depth from blower housing to the impeller… subtract the two to get your clearance distance. Add or sub shims to get to correct clearance.
Super glad I found your YT I was needed some information on rebuilding my supercharger. This helps a lot
Awesome 😎
Cool, nice step up!

Hell yes, glad to be of some help! God bless 🙏
Hi, what's the distributor name by the way? Thanks
Not sure exactly what you mean… the brand?
I think it was 928 motor sports is where I got the seals if you asking me .
I like their stuff 👍🏽
super valuable video. thanks man.
Assemble the shafts and housing than install new seals. It's a whole lot easier.
Good tip 🤘🏻
Very informative!!

Great video!
Thank you!!!
Hey, I just saw you on the 1320 video posted this month. I like the 4 eye!
Hell yes, thank you 🤘🏻
@@BMF_Garage Just picked up a D1 Procharger for my BBC Nova, can't wait to let 'er rip!
That’ll be an awesome combo!
Excellent video ! Have you ever thought about rebuilding superchargers for people ?
Yeah, I have. Just don’t feel like it would be lucrative enough.
@@BMF_Garage Ah I see, would you happen to know anyone that does? I'm not mechanically inclined to take on this task myself and I don't want to mess up my vortech
I’ve always bought all my parts from superchargerrebuilds.com and they offer rebuilding services last I checked.

I blew my vortech v3 and it was surprisingly only about 3000 miles on it and I bought it brand new. Any suggestions for rebuilding is appreciated

What happened to your supercharger?
Never used a press before so I’m having someone else press the bearings in for me. How far should the bearing be pressed in ?
All the way lol they will bottom out or go on as far as they can.
@@BMF_Garage ok thanks for the info🙏🏻

I’d put it back together and see how much play the impeller has.
@@BMF_Garage do the bearings have to be pressed on ?
Yes. They are generally very tight tolerances
Find that hard to get, lol I can’t see that blower with same internals go up that high in power and cfm
I don’t think that was the point lol. They didn’t advertise it putting out what a ysi does snd I was the first to use their parts. Only a dyno would truly show results
Those huge nuts were definitely in the way 😂
Underrated joke for sure.
Thanks. I really loved that one and I feel like very few people appreciated it 🤣
What is the seal behind the pulley called?? Input Shaft seal?
Yes, input shaft seal I believe
@@BMF_Garage cool man thank you!! And i kept looking thru the video wondering where the output shaft seal is and I couldn't tell which one it is😂
Did you ever get this to work, was thinking of doing the same to mine
Yes I did! It worked really well, just ran out of blower so I switched to a turbo. my only issue was heat soak because I was spinning it so fast lol. Always wanting more power!!
What boost were you getting with stock impeller and then after with new impeller. How high were you spinning supercharger
I was spinning the impeller about 70k rpm if memory serves. Went from 4 psi on my 408 to almost 16

Yeah side loading can definitely cause issues with the seals.... What usually happens is the bearings start to wear and then the seals wear also.
@@BMF_Garage what do you mean by side loading?
Side loading is what happens when the supercharger belt is REALLY tight. Naturally it pulls the crankshaft towards the supercharger when tensioning the belt. If it’s too tight, it can cause excessive wear on a lot of parts
@@BMF_Garage so just get a slightly longer belt?
@@BMF_Garage also, with too tight of a belt, could that cause the input shaft seal and bearings to go bad?
How did you check shim clearance?
Measure the depth of the housing where it sits on the blower to the inside of the cover… measure the depth from blower housing to the impeller… subtract the two to get your clearance distance. Add or sub shims to get to correct clearance.
