I’m very excited to try your recipe, but I’m going to try using almonds to give my hubby a special treat. If that works, I might try my favorite nut next time - cashews!

It's so crazy our ancestors created this flavor ice cream cause vanilla ice cream was not aloud for the slaves to eat. Now it's one of the best tasting old fashion ice creams out there.
Keep in mind, maple extract is extremely expensive ($18.00 for 2 oz), so you can use maple syrup as a subsitute. Just double the quantity of syrup to make up for the extract (1 tsp for every 1/2 tsp of extract).
I wish I would have watched the video and paid more attention I didn’t chill my pan beforehand. And I think that the pecan mixture should cool in the refrigerator for a good half hour before you pour it into the cream because it made my whipped cream watery. It didn’t look as thick as yours when you poured it into your pan. But here’s hoping that it comes out OK and I will comment when I finally taste it. Thank you for your recipe.
