  • Build A Stone Wall - Install Railing, protect the safety of the farm.
    --------------------
To protect the safety of me, my family and all those who visit the farm, today I built a stone wall on the edge of the pond and installed a railing in front of my stone house. As you can see, from the shore to the bottom of the pond is quite a deep distance. Below the pond is made entirely of concrete. Therefore, if you carelessly fall into the pond, it is very dangerous. My children and family also often come to visit, I am very worried about everyone's safety. So I immediately started construction as soon as I thought of this dangerous problem.
    Have fun watching the video!

I really look forward to your long videos, maybe for people who watch your videos for the first time, they will think it's easy what you're doing, because of the equipment you use. But for your loyal viewers who have been following your life on the slopes of this mountain from the beginning, they will definitely see it with "Wow".
From you sleeping under a cave to having a house made of stone that must have good durability, I imagine that in 200 years someone who walks on the slopes of your mountain and finds your buildings will feel like someone who finds a temple in the present. Keep up the good work.

So you believe everything you see on UA-cam, although there are elements of truth here, he's out to make MONEY, it's not all that you think!! he has electricity running to the place, which he mistakingly included in one of his videos and now makes sure the angle of that view is not repeated. He's found a concept that works, great!! but a lot is fabricated.

The addition of the fence is a very good idea. To further ensure the safety of children and visitors. the addition of a bamboo lattice between the fence posts will prevent children from slipping between the posts.
I have to agree with the other suggestions. Fired clay roof tiles will make for a more permanent solution to your roof. You may need to replace some of your wooden roof planks with new ones. This will prevent rotting and collapse.

Duong, if you want a quick fix for your roof, mix some liquid mortar using fine sand and apply a thin layer to the roof. It will soak into the holes in the wood and harden making the wood waterproof and resistant to rot. This would only take one or two days. To prevent the mortar being washed away by the rain before drying, you could cover it with some palm leaves until the mortar has dried.
Ideally you could make tiles for the roof, but that would take more time. You could make clay tiles, or cement tiles, or you could try making stone tiles. I have seen some stone near the river that looked like it would be easy to split into thin sheets with a chisel.

If he mixes the lime with very fine sand to form a slurry it will soak into the wood more easily, and dry harder.

  • @FaeraGaelwyn
    @FaeraGaelwyn 25 днів тому +1

As a temporary solution to the leaking roof, if there are any resin producing trees in your area you could tap them and boil down some resin to spot-fix gaps in the roof. Could probably use the rubber trees for it too if there's no resin.
Another thought I've had since seeing your videos of ruined crops. Since there is ample water immediately adjacent to the field, it might be a good idea to do a controlled burn of the dry plots (one at a time) to remove the pests as well as the weeds that are stealing nutrients from the crops. Enrich the soil and remove the bad things.
As is always the case with fire though, take care and do it bit by bit to be safe.
It's been a joy to see this project evolve over time.

@@PrimitiveSkillsnet you could improve your farms soil by putting down a layer of wood chips on the beds and leaving it to compost for a year.
That'll give you a rich Loamy soil that vegetables will love growing in.
You could also use some bio char (ground charcoal) each year to help maintain moisture and nutrients in the soil.

  • @xjoelportox
    @xjoelportox 27 днів тому +4

For the roof, use tree resin mixed with charcoal powder to fill the cracks. Long term you should think about making ceramic roof tiles, since the wooden roof will collapse sooner or later

Started from mud and made some iron tools and now has palace. Wow good.
Kind of interesting seeing how too move big stones. The ancient knobs seem to keep the rock straight, on sometype of rail transport system. And would of helped in connecting foundation blocks.
Using these rocks and mortar arent good for walls, because the mortar will lose its bond, with heavy rocks. ......23:20..... Should made alot of bricks at the pond lower wall.
    It works so far,.

If I hadn't watched the video, I wouldn't have believed that you were able to complete the retaining wall work by yourself and in such a short period of time. The landscape of the entire farm is very spacious and harmonious. I was also worried that your children would fall into the pond, but I was relieved when the fence was completed. Duong, as a long time subscriber who watched you build a hut and see it blown down in a storm to the very nice farm you have created, you are a hard worker, no doubt. And here’s the but, but no way I could move that much rock and mortar, by myself, in a week, even 20 years ago! I always suspected you had help but now it’s just obvious. I think it’s great if you are sharing your wealth with others in your village and paying them fairly, or have a large family helping, but it’s getting more and more deceptive to us who have been with you a long time!

De vez en cuando comento sobre cosas que él pregunta o sobre cosas que son imposibles de obtener, como la sal en un pequeño claro de un manglar. Si tal cosa fuera posible, todo el suelo del manglar sería una capa de sal.

I don't blamebyou for being cautious with those pigs Duong, I have lived near farms and played at them most of my childhood, so I know what they are capable of. Parts of the US have a horrible time with feral pigs and what they do. I hope you can tame them so you can turn them loose, but I won't blame you if you can't. Your new fence is beautiful! As for your roof, can you lay strips of rubber under the sides of the boards on the top layer? Or maybe use some sort of caulking in the seams between the boards? Sending blessings from the USA ❤

I’ve been watching your videos for a long time Doung, and you’ve made amazing content! I don’t know if this will help at all, but for your leaking roof, what about a layer of leaves that you’ve used in the past? Just add a thick layer over the top, providing your roof with water resistance.

My friend, thank you for helping ease my anxiety and giving me strength to get my own work done. A suggestion for your roof: Would it be possible to use the rubber tree farm to make a full cover under your roof tiles? Like a tarp or blanket but made with painted on rubber? You could also use the rubber as a quick fix for now. 😊 Thanks again, you're a wonderful human being.

Your farm is beautiful! Much different from the original woven bamboo you started with. A lot of hard work has gone into it. But I think that it is no longer "Primitive!" Might want to rename your site. I LOVE your animals. Always look forward to your next video.

Hello Duong. There is probably a plant or tree in the area where you live from which resins can be obtained. You could seal the roof with this resin. Maybe you could do it using rubber trees.

Maybe you should seal the bottom end of the poles of the wooden platform you made, so they are protected from rotting in the water.

    HOLA.
    Buen video!
Tengo 2 posibles soluciones, no sé si sirvan:
    - Primero para tú techo ¿Si lo sellas con caucho?
    - Segundo para los cerdos encerrados ¿Si intentas meter 2 de los que tienes fuera? Y los vas rotado cada día. Quizá sirva como ejemplo y los domestiques. (O puede que no pase nada, o los contrario)
    (^^)/ Saludos y hasta el próximo video•••
