It would've taken the developer literally 1 hour to create the Johnston. Take a Fletcher template and values (yes Fletcher template would exist: there are 5 of them in the game already).

That's literally it. Dev gets paid $55 per hour and evens out even if 1 person buys the ship lol.

That logic applies to a lot of ships. Johnston has still a unique play style.
It was the Captain and crew that deserves the praise, not over-hyping a ship that was one of many that preformed outstanding during the war, for instance read about the USS Franklin and what it survived, and stayed afloat. Bottom line it's the men, not the ship that counts.
True, but it's the name of the ship that will forever be associated with those men's sacrifices and achievements. She went down with all hands and her story, as well as the story of her valiant crew, ended that day. Rather than trying to remember every crew members name for all the years to come, it's easier to keep the memory alive by remembering just one name to cover the story. The USS Johnston. Its kinda like how we we don't name every soldier who participated in a battle, or in a war, but rather name the war or battlefield. It allows the story to be remembered much easier for much longer.
When people refer to how great a ship was, they are referring to the crew.

Johnston and Sammy B are probably the 2 most legendary US ships of WWII. Johnston was reported as a ‘heavy cruiser’ by the Japanese during the Taffy 3 engagement. Thats saying something for a little DD.

Some other facts about this ship, it's one of the deepest shipwrecks discovered and her captain who was of native American descent was awarded the Medal of Honor for obviously going above and beyond the call of duty. And allegedly one of the Japanese captains was seen saluting the Johnston as she sank.
A legendary destroyer. The ship is not legendary but what made her a legendary was her Captain and her crews. Those men had ball made of steel.
Don't forget how the wreck looks so perfectly frozen in time. All the guns are trained to starboard on the intact forward section, elevated as if ready to fire another salvo. Just as accounts from the battle say.

Would be nice if new players to the game weren't able to buy their way to t9 right off the bat it's bad for the game play at high tier
@angrybeargaming7756 It's not a bad idea for new players to inform themselves of new ships and their gimmicks, T7 are easy reach for new players and so are the T9 uptiers

Game balance is not a primary objective in WG products, the business part of things then "balance" their development and it's across all of their projects WoWs or WoT no different...
@deinim5854 it's sad for companies who make millions to billions to stop carrying for their player base and customers. That's the main reason why I stopped playing.
Ship is meh, everyone on the forums told them the burst fire wasn't a good idea, but WG did a WG and said "we know better".
