- You do NOT need to watch any of the other Fate Anime in order to enjoy the new anime Fate Grand Order Babylonia. Yes, it would be helpful, but you can watch this as a standalone series, with no knowledge on the Fate Universe whatsoever and still enjoy what you're watching.

Around at the 10:19 mark, you got things a bit jumbled. Chaldea didn't start sending Masters to SIngularities until they have already recruited 48 Masters. In fact, there weren't any Singularities before Singularity F and it took months for them to recruit all 48 Masters. Aside from that, they couldn't just Rayshift any person to the past. It took a large chunk of resources just to Rayshift a person and there's the matter of actually being compatible to the entire Rayshift process. By your wording, you were implying Chaldea was already sending people to the past through Rayshifting even before they managed to recruit the Masters they needed in the operation.
There's also the thing how initially Chaldea didn't know about all these Singularities. They initially thought Singularity F was the only SIngularity that caused the Incineration of Humanity. Chaldea learned that AFTER finishing Singularity F, all thanks to the clues and the remnants of another Grail that clued them to the coordinates of another Singularity.
You also glossed over the importance of a Master and their capability of contracting with a Servant because that's the entire reason why it took them a long time to recruit Master candidates, as well as recruiting 48 Masters ranging from high-ranking Magi to normal civilians that had acceptable compatibility ratings. That's the reason why the Protagonist is the only person being Rayshifted to the past, omitting the obvious spoilers why he is the only one doing it in the first place.
A ton... Love the Fate series but its so intimidating to get into due to its expansive nature. I've really only followed the Fate/Stay Night side of things and not any of the visual novels and games, so this helped alot with the context necessary to understand the stakes involved with the series and its characters.

Fate Series is basically a story in a different time, world, different classes character, and the main focus: The Holy Grail war.
There are a few mistakes and missed nuances, but it's not troll-level.
And not requiring to roll (gacha)
Entire fate series is biggest clusterfuck sinsce The Legend of Zelda's timeline. Word "chronology" or "sense" does not apply to series anymore.
I mean Fate as a whole is like Marvel Comics. One base creator that roughly dictates the rules and then several artists and authors then use the setting for their own stories.

JP players had a questionnaire on what singularities they want to animated and they chose Camelot and Babylonia for the reason that those 2 are great story-line as opposed to the first five singularities. Singularity F is the prologue of the game and it is animated already by the name of Fate/Grand Order - First Order

Not correct either considering every Fate Title, baring Zero, Stay Night and Hollow Ataraxia, are on different parallel worlds and not on the same timeline.

@@AusSP nah they specify in fate that there is a difference between parallel dimensions and timelines. Dimensions are the typical variances in fate like grand order vs stay night. But then timelines are a sub group withing dimensions such as the lostbelts within grandorder.
In other words, a singularity spells doom for that particular timeline. Something far greater is required to spell doom for multiple dimensions. Which is EXTREMELY hard since the primary means of traveling or observing alternate dimensions is the 2nd magic, and the Counter Force keeps very close tabs on real magic use. And those CF agents are typically a lot more dangerous then normal Heroic Spirits *cough* EMIYA *cough*

I think you forgot that during this "singularity fixing", Chaldea is basically locked in a stasis timeline because the entire real world is in "apocalypse mode" already. It's literally do or die situation with no other way.

Hell, I could even say that you can finish all the singularity without even using one gold servants. Unless, of course, you want to become a whaler then no cost will be incur by playing the game.
I, as a f2p player, can confirm about this of course. Even without paying any money, I already have 25 gold servants, 4 of them are 5* servants. But even then they are mostly better version of the lower rarity ones.
To compare, I would grade cod mobile as 15/10 in terms of microtransaction while fgo is more like 3/10 due to the gameplay, advancement and gifts. It would be 4/10 if you include the grind though.......damn those bones!!!

FGO have no PVP nor requirement to have all of the servants since you always have to borrow other's in each stage unless it's an event that force you to use your own. They gave a lot of useful free servant. You can upgrade your lower star to be up to par with higher rarity one to an extent. You just pay if you want to be collector

If you just wanted to explain the basics of fgo you probably shouldnt have gone into the holy grail wars, would probably confuse people by starting there. What the grail is and how it pertains to the story would have been enough.
Also, you didnt talk about the ring in the sky, or solomon which are the antagonists, its not a spoiler to talk about at this point as long as you dont reveal what the rings are.

Tbh this was some deep stuff even for me as long time TM fan and FGONA player since it's release.
This is why he's wrong about the part where you don't need to watch any other Fate series before Grand Order. Watching at least Fate Stay Night(2006) will at least give you a grasp of the concept of servants & the grail which is a main plot point. It's not just helpful, it basically completes your understanding of Fate Grand Order.

This actually helped out a lot. I've been hesitant to watch this anime because of everyone telling me I have to play the game but now I can go into it and still be able to enjoy myself without playing.

Being a full servant and a demi servant is different. Demi servant is when you share a body with a heroic spirit(i.e shared not fused) and a servant is a heroic spirit. Theres also a bit of confusion between pseudo servants and demi servants because a pseudo servant is a heroic spirit that is *fused* with a human being while a demi servant *shares* a body with a heroic spirit. An example of a pseudo servant is ishtar, ishtar the goddess of beauty is fused with our girl, rin. Their personality is blended into each other and thus making a pseudo servant. A demi servant is the human body just housing the heroic spirit to use its power.
You actually should play the game in order to understand some of the flash back scenes of the anime. One notable one is the recent episode with goetia killing some of the servants and madh protecing mc

And there's some exception like false assassin in the fuyuki grail war who is fictional.

@@Wulfspyder as far as i remember it's because since the USA are a young nation with few link to magic, they were lacking in powerful heroic spirit when a singularity occure there. So some of the most important figure in American history ie its president choose to empower one of the major hero it had: Edison who also represented America spirit in a way and give him there power, which transformed him from just Edison king of inventor to Presi-king Edison king of inventor and USA. Long story short he is supposed to be a representation of USA spirit and drive, which explains the gaudy superhero costume (with parts like light globe because Edison), the lion head probably symbolizing the fact that he isn't really human anymore and america arrogance and power.

The main problem with people getting confused with fate is starting by Zero and Blade Works instead of playing the first novel and going ahead like normal beings would.
FGO has many spin offs, and that's it really, it's not confusing at all, they are separated stories.

Fyi whilst this did help people still need to go outside this anime to outsource information on why this guys are in Babylon. They can't just jump in to the first episode and automatically know whats going on. In fact i myself had to look up the mage King and other stuff to know what happened before they teleported.

Ok really quick at about 1:40 in you say the Holy Grail War is fought for the genuine Holy Grail. It is not the genuine Holy Grail it is just a lot of mana. It's not that important to Babylonia but it may be important to story arc #2s version of Camelot because of Galahad which if it is written as well as the previous Camelot then it probably will get an adaptation especially if they start adapting more of the FGO story.

I disagree with the first statement that you don't have to watch the others to understand what is going on. In the first episode they talk about how the main characters have already saved save 6 singularities. They also talk about how the command spell seals are back. Without watching any of the other ones you wouldn't even understand why this is important

Anyway, he did say in the video that this is the historical artifact, when it's not, this has nothing to do with the silly bible, the Grail made in Fate is just a magical object made by the three mage families, capable of storing insane amounts of mana for the purpose of reaching the Root. There's nothing holy about the Grail War, that's just what the Church of Crazy calls it, it's just a ritual to fill the Grail with mana.
@@Mythos66 It's actually just one Grail, the same one in all the singularities, it's always the one that was created by the three mage families. Those singularities exist outside normal time and space, that's why the bad guy can send the Grail to each one to create the disturbance.

This is actually remarkably well put together, too bad I'm only seeing it now. Some details at the end spoiled some stuff from FGO for me as I am only on Singularity 4 atm, but it was excellent none the less. In fact, I'd say this is probably the best summary of Fate lore in terms of FGO that I have seen thus far

People who say FGO doesn't add to fate lore and is just fanservice are the ones who don't know who's actually writing it and are the ones who think side story events is the actual plot of FGO.

Sooo I’ve watched like 3 videos trying to understand the fate series and let me get this straight. There is no “main story” right? Because for example stay night fallows the “fate” aspect of the story while ubw fallows the unlimited blade works route. And I haven’t watched heavens feels yet but I know it fallows Sakuras route. And then like you said, you DONT need to watch the original 4 to understand grand order since it’s a different story overall. Pls correct me if I’m wrong since I’m a noob to this series😅

May_King_B I started watching in 2004 and watched a gameplay of the visual novel and then after that I never heard of anything Fate related till 2014 when Unlimited Blade Works was popular and then got to watch Fate/Zero in 2016 and played FGO in 2019 on January and played for a while and got obsessed in FGO for 3 months and started never played again till May so, yeah I’m on an on and off relationship with the Fate series never read the books of it like appocrypha watched the anime though in June (Wish got a Mordred...)

There are currently a very few anime Fate/Grand Order have.
1. Fate/Grand Order: First Order is the prologue of the story.
The other 6 singularities were skipped and the 7th singularity was already animated so you can just watch it next.
2. Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front - Babylonia: Itinum Iter- the episode 0 of the 7th singularity where it showed some scenes to the 1st - 6th singularity.
3. Fate/Grand Order: Absolute Demonic Front Babylonia.
There are animes of the Fate/Grand Order that was announced like Fate/Grand Order: Divine Realm of the Round Table - Camelot is a 2 part movie where the 1st movie was planned to released this summer but was delayed due to the pandemic. And the Final Singularity, Fate/Grand Order: Grand Temple of Time - Solomon was announced to be animated.
If you want to know the story of the singularities that was skipped you can just play the game

The only current anime order for Grand Order is just:
1. First Order(prologue)
2. Itinum Iter(Babylonia Ep 0)
3. Absolute Demonic Front Babylonia(7th Chapter)
That's it.
The 6th and Final Chapter will be animated. The rest of the Chapters can only be found in the game.

@@alextrain5616 After releasing the prologue, they animated the 7th chapter immediately instead of going through chapters 1-6. The Itinum Iter will give you the least idea on what happened in the first 6 chapters so don't let it confuse you.

Long story short, it's Doctor Who or Legends of Tomorrow + Kingdom Hearts.
It's Dr. Who/Legends in that you travel to the past to correct something that shouldn't be there but is and its effects are rippling throughout the timeline.
And Kingdom Hearts in that FGO is pretty much Fate's version of KH (Fate/Kingdom?) in which each Fate timeline or world visited stands alone as its own story but also contributes as a part to the whole story, like how the Disney worlds stand alone as their own story but also contribute to the overall Organization XIII story, with some things changed slightly to account for the new heroes (Shielder and Sora). So watching Babylonia on its own is like just playing the Aladdin level and nothing else, or Okeanos is like the Pirates of the Caribbean level. You still get a complete story in itself, but not THE whole story
