Fun fact, I was there: the afternoon after AOC visited the Columbia encampment, the organizers (students) of the encampment made a declaration that there would be no more politicians allowed inside because of how clear it was that Ocasio-Cortez was using the moment to her and her career's benefit.

After that, you organize peaceful protest, and raise funds to help stop the genocide. The US is an amalgamation of very diverse ideals. Therefore, we need to be governed from the center, then have meaningful dialogue on how best to deal with problems at home and abroad. Israelis are stepping up to protest the genocide. They will be voting soon, and it’ll be interesting to see what happens there. However, be careful of the hypocrisy. When 9/11 happened, the US ravaged Iraq and Afghanistan. We don’t have a leg to stand on when it comes to integrity. However, I will take a long hard look at Jill Stein, and what she has to offer.

Sabby is great. She's one of the few who is truly for real progressive, and her analysis is spot on. Jimmy Dore does a lot of good, but he seems to have a pro-Trump undercurrent these days. Sabby stands firm.

In the early 90's, the movement in the U.S. decided to create a political party. The Greens here were at first hesitant to run candidates.
In Europe Greens gained real power in Germany and other countries... and they're still an active party in most of those countries.
The environment was of primary importance to most Greens in the U.S. until the late 90's when social justice, and, war and peace grew in importance.
I was a Green activist from 1996 to 2005.
Today's Green party might have different priorities.

If any group is going to save the US, and thus the world, it's the descendants of those who didn't come to this country willingly. No need for revisionism. She's been one of the most vocal critics of the genocide, has called for an immediate end to arms shipments and even visited the campus pro-Palestinian encampments to show solidarity, which took a lot of courage. She's also smart, a quality sorely lacking in many of her critics, including those posing as progressives.

Im a registered Democrat but I plan to vote for Stein for several eeasons. Sabby's comment about Ventura's invitation to Sanders to create a 3rd party is crucial talk. I'm nervous about this election but the 2 main parties are only different in the candidates they uphold. I cannot support a "corporate democracy," whose money must be rejected. Genocide, the relentless outsourcing of jobs and Citizens United have compelled me to vote Stein. She and the Greens are essential; they articulate what matters at a critical point in our history.
Chris Hedges very recently did an extended interview with Jill & Butch that is a must-see. Particularly with Butch, a virtual unknown, he came out swinging. Strongly recommend. 👆

Regarding the stagnant growth of the Green Party under Jill Stein, I think it also leaves out of the conversation the co-opting of the progressive movement toward the Democratic Party during the Bernie runs. I voted for Bernie and was excited during those years, but I do think that if that run hadn’t happened, the Green Party probably would have gotten a lot more growth during those years. There’s an appetite for progressive policy. It just always gets co-opted by the Democratic Party when it gets too loud, then it’s slowly smothered from within.
Either that, or we live in an overwhelmingly ignorant and rightwing country where most of the electorate supports US and Israeli atrocities and the dominance of the ultra rich.
