I sold my previous car after 12 years. Still it is in good condition. The buyer is happy. It doesn't have modern things like power windows, central locking, power steering etc. Those features only I felt missing. Usually in 5 years we don't find huge differences.

Moral of this video: Don't keep changing the car just to upgrade to the new gimmicking features that companies show or promote. Assess your needs and do some minor changes which will already be available in aftermarket and be happy with what you have . Don't fall for big big loan traps.
I did the exact same.. I upgraded my 8 year old Car with a nice touch screen system with Wireless carplay, reverse camera…Halogen lights with LED lights.. got a good steering cover..upgraded headlights.. all came under 25k.. will do some body work and mechanical work in coming months and use it for another few years!

I also face the same situation last year…. I had 2016 Creta diesel (AT) driven 90K …. Sold it in 6.5 lac and buy new creta SX(O) Diesel for 21 lac just to upgrade the latest features like Panoramic sunroof , big touch screen, ventilated seats , power seats etc… but it was an expensive upgrade just to feel good factors and my old car was also in good running condition…. I did it coz my pocket allowed me but it was not a smart decision as you described….
Agree. I own 5 year old Ignis which still runs like new car with smooth engine and no issues so far. But whenever I see videos of new cars with fancy features my mind draws towards buying new one. I really don't care about ADAS and Sunroof which are totally useless in India. Other features like reverse camera, better audio and infotainment system I can easily upgrade. Another major problem is that car costs has drastically increased in past couple of years which makes upgrading waste of money especially when you have a good car already without problems. My car can cruise 100kmph on highways which is the max speed limit of latest highways too.

Absolutely correct. There is no sense in spending ₹10 - 20 lacs on a new car, only for 3 or 4 features. Many of which we don8use at all😅 Existing car, with the necessary repairs and a coat of 3M paint can serve us for 5 years more!!😊

Sir hats off to your liberated views. Car companies in India are taking all of us for a ride by offering unnecessary features such as sunroofs and adas. Whereas necessary features such as disc brakes, tpms, dash cams, led lights are offered as a accessories. Just take a look at more matured car market of south asian countries where even though the sales numbers are not high as the Indian market, cars are launched much earlier than here and with no gimmicks.
Very very good video. My first car was 2008 Verna petrol Xi. In 2012 friends were afvising to buy new one. But did exactly as you suggested. Did some detailing. New mats , tyres , alloy wheels and painting. Car looked almost new. Finally sold it in 2020 after i bought City CVT in 2018 as i felt the "need" for automatic. Now was tempted to buy the City Hybrid but gave it up as i realised that it was more out of desire & not for meeting any specific need. Also it was not making financial sense and my current City is doing just fine as a new car 🤞. So will stick with her & at best do some detailing work to give it a fresher look.

One of the best vedios. Today a 60lakh Audi sells for under 10 lakh after 10years in NCR even if it has done only 50 thousand km. This comes to 100 per km towards depreciation ONLY. Add to it the fuel cost, maintenance, interest on loan it would exceed over 200 per km. A luxury that only corporates can afford
One more thing, for getting our scratched car painted, we don't go to Maruti garage. There are several roadside painters who undertake excellent painting jobs for 1/4 the price, charged by Maruti.

I can say... if you want buy new car then by EV.. if you want buy ENGINE car then buy used car before 2018 manufactured only. New cars manufactured very low quality. Sir, I will add one more point ... new cars are not longest lasting ones.. our latest highest selling brand 6 seater car, we witnessed with very poor quality compared to our other cars bought before 2018. Within 2 years it loose its performance.. it's fact ..!! We don't want to put its name here.. simply can say TIN ka dabba..! Scenario is very clear in terms of OLD IS GOLD NOW...!!! Totally agreed. I just booked my new car because I wanted to upgrade from 8 yr old Hatchback to SUV. I got the base model as it satisfies my needs.

I can say... if you want buy new car then by EV.. if you want buy ENGINE car then buy used car before 2018 manufactured only. New cars manufactured very low quality.
Sir, I will add one more point ... new cars are not longest lasting ones.. our latest highest selling brand 6 seater car, we witnessed with very poor quality compared to our other cars bought before 2018. Within 2 years it loose its performance.. it's fact ..!!

ADAS, Lane assist etc. can be used on very few roads of India
Am still using my 2002 Honda City 1.3. It has completed 22 years now. But still it's a bliss to drive that car. Expecting to drive that for few more years.
