Joana Gedmintaitė perfectly demonstrates what my choir director calls "lifting your upper palate". Especially when she's singing up high. It's why she sounds just as beautiful up there as she does in the lower registers.
All praise to opera soloist Joana Gedmintaitė and soloist Lina Dambrauskaitė! They perform this most beautifully, so much so that it brings tears to my eyes. Good for meditating on the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary.!
i do love your choirs work and i have been following it for quite some time now.. but this performance had exceeded my expectations by far.. really nicely done.. thank you
I truly wish that Patricia will be remembered at the Grammy Awards in the "Memoriam" segment. I really hoped she would have been transferred to an American Cancer Institute to stand a better chance at being saved. I don't think Prog was advanced enough to treat this progressive disease. Patricia was obviously in a lot of pain and I'm sorry to her for not being able to lighten it. RIP Love🌲

The quality of the two sopranos and the choir is superb! In terms of vocal quality no other sopranos come close to these two. The one thing I wish is that their last vowels were matching--one is on "ah" and the other on "ih" because of different words. But could not one of them migrate to match vowels or could the lyrics be modified to end on the same word? The harmony would be much cleaner and pure, especially as it trails off. On this piece, the only other group I like better, mainly in terms of the background chorus, is that of Mat and Savanna Shaw backed up by the Lux Singers. Mat and Savanna have a pure sound and the harmony of genetically matched timbres, though they are not as trained and refined as these two ladies. But I much prefer the arrangement in which the Lux Singers introduce the piece with their warm and inviting sound. In general their sound offers a much more intriguing backstory of depth and nuance, that I can listen to it over and over. So, I much prefer their choral background, but it has to do with their arrangement also. Compared to their choral intro, any piano accompaniment will sound tinny...If there must be instrumental accompaniment, I would go with strings and cello, rather than piano.
I do wish posters would note the composer's name when featuring music that has been written, by several composers, with the same title. This was the version I would have shared with my choir had you give ALWebber his due.

I am in awe of the two ladies, they sooth my mind and soul. What a joy it must be to sing like this.
This is the best sung version I've listened too!
The soloist's voices blend beautifully.
The Woman on the left side has a brillant Opera Voice, not the fat Woman
The right one is not fat.......shame on you.!!!!
If something which is good, get bigger, then that cannot be bad.............
Lout.. that you are Tom.

Pretty good
Nuostabu...Aciu....
Wonderful!
Great performance, brilliantly sung by some very attractive Ladies. My personal favourite is Sissal, the Norwegian soprano.

what is the name from the woman with the black hair :) sry..
2nd part is traditionally sung by a boy... but this is beautiful none the less
long adds getting longer [6 second from 4]
Joana Gedmintaitė's performance of this is so much better than Sarah Brightman's silly "fish-face" rendition.
Keep practicing!
Beautiful voices but a little too hasty
Bella interpretazione, ma cantata troppo velocemente...
Peccato.
The publicity is shameless !
Anyone else felt they were off beat?! It was really beautiful it just annoyed me in some parts
Too fast. Pie Jesu is a meditation not a horse race. Just me.
