    I am playing in a german bugle band and we had a few times the pleasure to play with the guys parade of the neusser bürger schützenfest for many years...I wish they were here again on every last sunday in august. Absolutly great musicians.

    4:34 those resounding notes reach across decades and centuries. Gave me chills seeing it as a kid by live broadcast. Certainly didnt stop it now

    Just found this on UA-cam.I ran Field Gun in for 1985 at Earls Court, “High on a hill” was the background the music during our warm up prior to our run. The song brings back so many happy memories. Thanks for the upload. 👍

    I was there! As part of a band on tour from Canada, this was one of our highlights. I remember being impressed that they were playing the 'French National Defile March' or 'Sambre et Meuse' because my band was playing it at the time!

    Hi Woodcakes. We think we got your drift. I would'nt say we were fit or unfit. But I remember sweating buckets after each display. It used to even worse doing a display out in the sun. Compare it to 20 mins in a sauna ( Pissing Sweat )

    Oh but you can :). The RGJ & the LI may have been merged into "The Rifles" Along with sevral heavy infantry Regiments such as the Glosters , Devon & Dorsets , Duke of Edinburghs, etc. But there still is a light bugle band in the British Army. Granted, its a shame they won,t be able to play en-masse again tho :(.

    I was a bugler at this event.. The last thing I took part in before I left.. Great Days.. Sadly missed. The commentator is wrong by the way.. We were doing around 160-170 paces per min not 140

    Does anyone know if the Burma Band and Bugles are still going. They were based in Chester-Le-Street ( Durham )

  • @eipgamluap
    @eipgamluap 16 років тому

    No argument from me shady.. Colin was my Bugle Major in Winchester when I was a Junior Bugler and also when I was in the Burma Band and Bugles in Durham. Any idea if he's still around ?.. I moved away 23years ago and have lost touch with everyone from the Burma Band and Bugles.
