I also recommend checking out Rondo of Nightmare Mischiefs of Metal Gods at Budokan Live Intro. I believe it was their Black Night performance if my memory serves me correctly here. Su-Metal was 16 in that legendary performance & well the rest is history as they say. 🤘🙀💕
@LouieGrandie It's also important to note MoA actually does play guitar, which she started back in the 4th grade. Su-Metal plays piano & I wish they would showcase that more in the future. :)
Great reaction. 'Shine' very quickly rose to become one of my absolute top favourite BABYMETAL songs so I'm glad you appreciated and liked it so much as well. I think you may also need to know some context for the song. I don't know if you were told about the Trilogy of Lights - the last 3 songs on the Metal Galaxy album. They describe the stages of mourning we go through after losing somebody close. 'Starlight' is about the initial shock and grief. 'Shine' is about acceptance and coming to terms with the loss (I hope you will also watch the Legend M performance, that one is extra special - just Su, Moa and a guitar on stage and Moa's choreo is incredibly moving and emotional). 'Arkadia' is about looking to the future and better times to come. It has never been said by anybody associated with BABYMETAL, but most fans believe the trilogy is a tribute to Kami Band guitarist Mikio Fujioka (RIP) who tragically died in January 2018 after falling from an observation deck where he had been stargazing ... it is just fan speculation, but it is hard to believe there isn't something in it, especially given the lyrics of 'Starlight' - "Wherever we are we'll be with you We'll never forget shining starlight Wherever you are live in my heart We'll never forget shooting star" and the Legend M performance in particular of 'Shine' would also suggest there is something in it. 'Starlight' was also released on the same day in October 2018 that Yui announced she would be leaving the band and Su has said she thinks of Yui and how she would have danced to this song, so maybe the tribute is for her as well. Only the Fox God knows. If you continue with the Trilogy of Lights please use a live version of 'Starlight' - there is an official video, but it does not feature the girls and the live is so much better. As I said before I hope you will watch the Legend M live performance of 'Shine' from the Reactor Resource channel - not for another reaction, but so you can see it - I think it may be Su's best vocal performance to date as well. Also to see why I think it shows there may be some truth in the belief they are paying tribute to Mikio Fujioka (RIP).
Great reaction, thanks! As it's been told "Shine" is the second part of the "Trilogy of Lights" and it's about the intermediate stages of mourning. It's preceded by "Starlight" and "Arkadia" closes the trilogy. They decided to write these songs after the sad and tragic events that happened in late 2017 and 2018 with Yui leaving and Mikio's untimely decease. So it's a very emotional song. And Su-metal is unique conveying the emotions on stage. I consider this one of her best performances as a vocalist. And this is my favorite part (probably of all their songs): "Hateshinaku tsuzuku Yami no naka samayottemo Wazuka na hikari o Taguri yosete Kokoro ga sakenda Kamawanai kowaretemo Mabayui hikari ga Bokura o terasu kara" Continue boundlessly Even wandering in the darkness A mere bit of light Was handed over And my heart cried out No problem; even if you break down The dazzling light Will shine on us after all
dont know if anybody has explained this song to you yet but i will say something about it. at beginning of 2018 they lost their lead guitarist to a fall from an observation tower. his passing and also this is when Yui had health issues and she couldnt be with them on stage. Babymetal has three songs we call the Trilogy of Lights, Starlight, Shine and Arcadia. basically these songs represent past, present, future handling the trauma of loosing Mikio and Yui. you almost need to listen to all three together to appreciate them. at the end of Shine the song goes right into Arcadia. Starlight is remembering the past and lines in the song say this about always in your heart and looking up to the stars(Mikio was a huge stargazer and Yui liked it as well). shine is like acceptance of what has happened and Arcadia is looking to the future. you are right that when you think you understand Babymetal they make you realize you dont know them. lol. wait till you see more songs and you will understand they dont do just one genre of metal. last count it is up to like 25 different genres and still got more to do.
This is another beautiful song showing a more mature side from 3rd Metal Galaxy album, but is also a song that belongs to a special set called officially Trilogy Of Lights, to represent the ongoing cycle of birth, death and rebirth, but fans took this set unofficially as a tribute to Mikio Fujioka past away and YuiMetal withdrawal, both sad events in 2018. The songs in order are: "Starlight, Shine and Arkadia" and are meant to hear in this order so you can understand and experience the message of these songs as a whole, try it whenever you can, you might feel a different feeling depending on your mood and state of mind. See you next time 🦊🤘🔥
The song, along with Starlight and Arkadia, is part of what we call the Trilogy of Light, three songs that remember Mikio Fujioka, their lead guitarist who died tragically. The songs cover their emotional journey with his passing
⚡ 💕 / 🌟 ✨ Lots of feels in this one. The eclipse at the beginning and end of this song are strongly reminiscent of the apocalypse symbol they used during their "Dark Side" in 2018. Even the BABYMETAL flags were replaced with the apocalypse versions. BTW, the supporting dancer in this video was Riho Sayashi. During her time in the Idol group Morning Musume, she was considered the "Absolute Ace". Su and Riho overlapped as students in Actors School Hiroshima (ASH), starting when Su was 8 years old. Riho is a year younger, but started at ASH a couple of years earlier. They would often be competing for the lead role in the singing and dancing presentations. Riho signed with the talent agency "Japan Music Entertainment" in September 2020 and has been pursuing a solo career.
Such a beautiful song. One of their best stage shows but totally different. Part of a 3 song series related to the tragic events of 2018 for Babymetal.
Thank you for your reaction. 🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊 "Shine" is a second song from "Trilogy of Light". First is "Starlight" and last is "Arkadia". The Trilogy of Lights means a lot and goes deep among the ONE. Together they describe the stages of mourning we go through after losing somebody close. 'Starlight' is about the initial shock and grief 'Shine' is about acceptance and coming to terms with the loss. 'Arkadia' is about looking to the future. Shine is my favorite song from The Trilogy. For next reaction my suggestion is to listen this two song: Starlight and Arkadia.
Great reaction and thanks for watching this one. The big shows in Japan are on a different level. This is the second song of the last three songs off their last album called the "trilogy of light" (by the fans). The first one is Starlight, then Shine and finally Arkadia. In late 2017, Yui-metal performed her last show (at the time it was assumed that she would be back) and in Jan.2018 their guitarist Mikio Fujioka died from injuries suffered when he fell from a star gazing platform in Dec. 2017. Fans have decided that these three songs are loosely assumed to be a tribute to these to members but the band has never stated this. The three songs are thought to be the different stages of grief; denial (Starlight), acceptance (Shine) and finally, moving on (Arkadia).
Return of BabyMetal this Saturday &Sunday at the Makuhari Messe in Toyko Japan. 2 days sold out in minutes 50 thousand fans for both concerts. Also, Concert will be livestreamed throughout Japan at theaters.
This is the second song of the "Triology of Lights". The first being Starlight, the last being Arkadia. They are believed to be tributes to their guitarist that died the prior year in a stargazing accident (fell from an observation platform) with each song representing the stages of grief. This song being "acceptance". Starlight is shock and grief. Arkadia is "life goes on." Starlight, for example, contains the lyrics: Wherever we are, we'll be with you We'll never forget shining starlight Wherever you are, you live in my heart We'll never forget shooting star Wherever we are, we'll be with you We'll never forget shining starlight Wherever you are, you live in my heart We'll never forget shining star Shine contains the lyrics: Shining in my heart Shining in your heart Shining forever Arkadia contains the lyrics: For your dream, for your faith, for your life The song of the era that began to move echoes in dreams Now No more tears, no more pain, no more cry
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。Grington300 300 explained the implication of this song very well in his comment below. We may see a hope even amid a tough transition of life. It may look like "a mere bit of light" at the beginning but it could gradually intensify the luminance only after people go through sorrowful experience. Su and Moa did it. Please continue to explore BABYMETAL.
Love your reactions! This is actually the second part of what TheOne calls the trilogy of Light. It begins with the song Starlight then this one followed by Arcadia. They signify three stages of grief and are thought to be a tribute to Kogami (Little God) . . Kamiband guitarist Mikio Fujioka who died tragically from an accident before the release of their third album. He was an amature astronomer and apparently fell off an observation platform whilst stargazing. . . Very very sad. . . I will leave it to others to fill in the other info. Thanks for your continued musical explorations and brining us with you on the Journey. . Kitsunes up! 🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼🔥
Cool seeing older reactions to some of their earlier songs here. However, for some contrast their latest singles Devine Attack-Shingeki, Monochrome & Metal Kingdom. Really shows just how far they have come & Su-Metal now is completely on a different level here. Their 2023 tour kicks off in less than 4 days. Starting at the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall in Tokyo. So we will be getting some brand new live shows here. Since their Bukadan 10th anniversary shows back in 2021. So I suspect it will be pretty epic as this is what Babymetal is known for. New album drops on March 24th. Great reaction here BTW!! 🤘🦊💕
This beautiful song almost always brings a tear to my eye. It is part 2 of the unofficial Trilogy of Lights that touches on the loss of Mikio. RIP Little God
Great reaction. This is the first song in the Trilogy of Light. The next is Starlight, then Arcadia. I'm happy you are enjoying your journey down the foxhole. Other members of The One will chime in here soon with many awesome details about the song. The One...ASSEMBLE!
I don’t know why I’m first. Anyway this is one of my top two, or three songs. Su-Metal’s vocals are just on another level. Of course I agree with the set design, lighting etc…. Their performances are frankly unmatched in the world. Yes, others will have their own opinion, or focus more on the music than the incredible theatrics. I believe you are going through the Trilogy of Light. I may have missed the first reaction, but they are in order Starlight, Shine, and Arcadia. It covers the grieving stages of loss, acceptance, and future. Enjoyed it.
This song is part of a trilogy of songs that they wrote for their late guitarist, Mikio (Ko-Gami), that passed away from an accident while doing his hobby of star gazing. The other two songs are Starlight and Arkadia.
Great reaction as always. Although this is open to interpretation (like most songs) this is definitely a song in rememberance of the life of their brilliant guitarist Mikio Fujioka who died due to an accident. He was definitely something special and developed his own unique style. It's also said to be a nod to their former member Yui Metal who left the band. Can't wait for your next one. May I suggest their homaje to Latino music 'Night Night Burn' 🔥. Take good care of yourselves 😃
Oh you watched shine before Starlight. I'll blame the commenters for that. This is the 2nd era Babymetal , Yui has gone, so quite a forward leap for you. Maybe watch Starlight next and then Arcadia , followed by the beginners guide by Cryptic misery. It will answer any questions you'd have about the groups progress up to mid lockdown. 🦊🦊💥🦊🦊
Great reaction as per usual guys, Shine is a part of 'the trilogy of light's' so if wish to have a bit of contnuity as to the era and track progression etc, then although 'shine is' considered to be the 2nd part of the trilogy' you may wish to try reacting to Starlight (part one) and Arkadia(part three) i think you will be surprised again(and again) 😂 keep up the good work guys 👌 peace ✌️
The enjoyment was so obvious in your expressions 😁 i love this song, but if you thought they could not perform this song any better . Watch the Legend M version. Just Su and Moa and be surprised again an incredibly emotional performance.. Check out BabyMetal Reactors Resource. You will find it there 😁 🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Nice reaction. The Shine performances are some of their bests. You forgot the first rule of Babymetal expect the unexpected. Babymetal continues to surprise even some of their biggest fans except in one way. Babymetal will always give the best performance they can. This weeked will be their first performance since the 10 years of Babymetal shows at the start of the covid lock downs. What will the stage look like? Will there be new avenger dancers? Who will be in the Kamiband? What songs will they play? Will they have new outfits? Will Moa smile? Ok wait we know Moa will smile. What will the new choreography be? Will there be new choreography, or will they dance freely on stage? So many questions to be answered this weekend. Is it Friday yet?
Fun facts: this is the only BabyMetal song that has an acustic guitar :D With Babymetal, you learn to expect the unexpected! You still have seen nothing xD They will surprise you even more!
👍 👍 One of my top 5 BabyMetal songs. This song/performance is said to have been in honor of Mikio Fujioka who tragically died at 37 falling from an observation tower the year before while stargazing leaving behind a wife and child. The lyrics are beautiful. It is said that Moa actually played the acoustic guitar for this which is backtracked.
Excellent reaction. Definitely recommend you stick with that channel if you want to keep doing compilations. Ferr's compilations are the best ones on youtube, period.
The Legend M version will be forever the perfect performance of this song. This one is great too of course, but the one for Moa's bday (legend M) was beyond beautiful. 🤘🦊🤘
Shine is one of Su's finest vocal performances but the live performance with just Su and Moa at Legend M is just sublime. You can feel the emotion and how intensely personal that performance was for both of them.
I'm so happy that you chose this song. But, you should check here [ ua-cam.com/video/M6BGL1DsBr0/v-deo.html ] This song for MIKIO [ guitar player member of Kami-band ] who died 2018. From Japan.
I love your reactions!! Have you seen BTS highlight reels or anything like getting into the BTS Universe? I feel like I'd enjoy your commentary and thoughts! You are always so genuine with your reactions!💜
Excellent reaction, y'all! This song is one of the most beautiful songs of Babymetal. I was really hoping this would be the Legend M version though. You two really need to watch that one sometime (whether that is in your free time or another reaction is up to you, just watch it). It is on the Babymetal Reactor Resource channel. It is just Su and Moa (no Avenger) together with the emotion knob turned to eleventy! Keep up the good work! Kitsune Up, Y'all! 🤘🦊🤘
the guitar in the beginning was from their former lead guitarist who died - he taught Moa to play the intro - there's a version where she pays it live .
Hey there This song is one of what is called the Trilogy of light. Not sure of the correct order but the other two songs are Starlight and Arcadia just FYI. idk how much BABYMETAL you have heard but I always suggest that reactors such as yourselves try to take your journey down and thru the fox hole in the order that the band did chronologically. So go back and check out the early stuff first Like anything from Legend 1997 which was from 2013 or Do every song from the 2014 live at Budokan. Trust me you will love BABYMETAL even more. here try this MV ua-cam.com/video/qVdBBOpSoN4/v-deo.html
We have watched one Bandmaid song so far, but we have more on our calendar. Keep your eye out for more and check out videos for our first Bandmaid song experience 🤘🦖
Nice reaction to this beautiful song. You should defo check out the version from the Legend M show, which is even more emotional when you get the chance :) 🤘🔥🦊 PS: As always with Babymetal, expect the unexpected!
We accidentally clicked "hold all comments for review" which is why your comments may not have shown up! We fixed and hopefully got all comments out of comment limbo lol sorry everyone!
There is a version that opens with Moa alone on the stage playing the guitar.
Trilogy of Light...Kitsune Up!!!
There's a live where Moa plays the acustic guitar for that song. Hi from México 🇲🇽

You struck a diamond with this one. Babymetal at it's best. A bloody masterpiece.
They really are classy, beautiful and sometimes energetic😁.
"Shine"
The second instalment of the "TRILOGY OF LIGHTS" after "Starlight". This song fans assume was dedicated to guitarist" Mikio Fujioka" who passed away in Jan 2018 & "Yui Mizuno (Yuimetal)" who left Babymetal in Nov 2018 due to undisclosed health issue. "Starlight" is about remembering, "Shine" is about acceptance and "Arkadia" is looking forward to the future. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤟🤘.
'Shine' is about acceptance. Su-Metal and Moametal accepted the fact that Mikio Fujioka is watching over Babymetal and Yuimetal is no longer with Babymetal. Even though Moametal doesn't really playing the guitar which she could, the mood of which this song captivate and portray is mesmerising. Su-Metal and Moametal performed this song for each other and for current and former members of Babymetal. They are leaving the memories that Babymetal created together but not forgotten. Great reaction always. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬.
Shine Lyrics Overview:-
光の彼方まで
Light to the other side
光よ彼方まで
Endless
果てしなく続く
Even if you wander in the darkness
闇の中彷徨っても
A little light
僅かな光を
Taguriyosete
手繰り寄せて
My heart shouted
心が叫んだ
It doesn't matter if it breaks
かまわない壊れても
Dazzling light
眩い光が
Because it illuminates us
僕らを照らすから
Shining sky Let's take off
Shining sky飛び立とう
Shining road forever
Shining roadどこまでも
To a journey in space far away
遥か遠く宇宙の旅へ
Far away to space
遥か遠く宇宙へ
Shining light Let's go
Shining lightさあ行こう
Shining road forever
Shining roadどこまでも
To an eternal journey beyond space-time
時空を超えて永遠の旅へ
Delivered beyond space-time
時空を超えて届け
Shining in my heart
Shining in my heart
Shining in your heart
Shining in your heart
Shining forever
Shining forever

As it's been told "Shine" is the second part of the "Trilogy of Lights" and it's about the intermediate stages of mourning. It's preceded by "Starlight" and "Arkadia" closes the trilogy. They decided to write these songs after the sad and tragic events that happened in late 2017 and 2018 with Yui leaving and Mikio's untimely decease. So it's a very emotional song. And Su-metal is unique conveying the emotions on stage. I consider this one of her best performances as a vocalist. And this is my favorite part (probably of all their songs):
"Hateshinaku tsuzuku
Yami no naka samayottemo
Wazuka na hikari o
Taguri yosete
Kokoro ga sakenda
Kamawanai kowaretemo
Mabayui hikari ga
Bokura o terasu kara"
Continue boundlessly
Even wandering in the darkness
A mere bit of light
Was handed over
And my heart cried out
No problem; even if you break down
The dazzling light
Will shine on us after all
dont know if anybody has explained this song to you yet but i will say something about it. at beginning of 2018 they lost their lead guitarist to a fall from an observation tower. his passing and also this is when Yui had health issues and she couldnt be with them on stage. Thanks for info mate
Babymetal 🤘💕
This is another beautiful song showing a more mature side from 3rd Metal Galaxy album, but is also a song that belongs to a special set called officially Trilogy Of Lights, to represent the ongoing cycle of birth, death and rebirth, but fans took this set unofficially as a tribute to Mikio Fujioka past away and YuiMetal withdrawal, both sad events in 2018. Shine is the best song in the metal galaxy.
The only thing to expect with Babymetal is the unexpected
The song, along with Starlight and Arkadia, is part of what we call the Trilogy of Light, three songs that remember Mikio Fujioka, their lead guitarist who died tragically. The songs cover their emotional journey with his passing
⚡ 💕 / 🌟 ✨
Lots of feels in this one.
Su's voice is so mesmerizing "Shine" is a work of art one of the best songs Babymetal has ever released.
Such a beautiful song. One of their best stage shows but totally different. Part of a 3 song series related to the tragic events of 2018 for Babymetal.
Thank you for your reaction. 🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊
"Shine" is a second song from "Trilogy of Light". First is "Starlight" and last is "Arkadia".
The Trilogy of Lights means a lot and goes deep among the ONE. Together they describe the stages of mourning we go through after losing somebody close.
'Starlight' is about the initial shock and grief
'Shine' is about acceptance and coming to terms with the loss.
2017. Shine contains the lyrics:
Shining in my heart
Shining in your heart
Shining forever
Arkadia contains the lyrics:
For your dream, for your faith, for your life
The song of the era that began to move echoes in dreams
Now No more tears, no more pain, no more cry
SHINE IS MASTERPIECE

One of my favourites;) New song just came out from Babymetal. Metal Kingdom, check it out🤓
Today they rule the world of metal, tomorrow they will rule the world.

May I suggest their homaje to Latino music 'Night Night Burn' 🔥. Take good care of yourselves 😃
I still get goosebumps every time I listen to this song
Babymetal 🤘💕
Oh you watched shine before Starlight. I'll blame the commenters for that. This is the 2nd era Babymetal , Yui has gone, so quite a forward leap for you. Maybe watch Starlight next and then Arcadia , followed by the beginners guide by Cryptic misery. It will answer any questions you'd have about the groups progress up to mid lockdown.

absolutely amazing and wonderful song thanks for this reaction please more Babymetal live 🥺🥺🇯🇵🇯🇵♥️♥️
Please react more babymetal live performance 🦊🎸
Their fog machine is most likely dry ice and not smoke. You should react to "The One."
The enjoyment was so obvious in your expressions 😁 i love this song, but if you thought they could not perform this song any better . Watch the Legend M version. Just Su and Moa and be surprised again an incredibly emotional performance..
Check out BabyMetal Reactors Resource. You will find it there 😁
🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
BABYMETAL🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥
I feel that SU-METAL is quietly communing with the dead at the depths of this raging passion.
This song is dedicated to the late band member Mikio Fujioka. And at another concert, Moametal plays acoustic guitar
Great reaction. As mentioned below, check out the Legend M performance. It is so emotionally awesome.
Hi from San Francisco California
Babymetal 🤘💕
Fun facts: this is the only BabyMetal song that has an acustic guitar :D
With Babymetal, you learn to expect the unexpected! You still have seen nothing xD
They will surprise you even more!
First?
No one commented yet? Probably they're busy with BM new single "Metal Kingdom" just dropped.
But, you should check here [ ua-cam.com/video/M6BGL1DsBr0/v-deo.html ]
This song for MIKIO [ guitar player member of Kami-band ] who died 2018.
From Japan.
I subscribed just to see your eventual reaction to baby metal death 1997 =)
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍🤘
the guitar in the beginning was from their former lead guitarist who died - he taught Moa to play the intro - there's a version where she pays it live .
🤘😊🤘🦊🎉
Please reaction BABYMETAL Tales Of Destines mp3

🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Perfection.
🦊🦊🦊
This performance was good but I like the one where Moa is playing the guitar at the beginning
😉😉😉🤘🤘🤘
I'm glad you listened to babymetal and Nemophila even though they are not well known in Japan
🤘🦊🤘
Please react more Babymetal, Lovebites, Unlucky Morpheus, Crossfaith, Sokoninaru, Asterism, Versailes, Galneryus, Gacharic Spin, Ichika Nito, Tatsuya Amano, Shuhei Kamada, Imperial Circus Dead Decadence, Daisuke Kurosawa
⚠️If possible react to their live performance ⚠️
Maybe you two should watch a proper band like Bandmaid, thats proper talent. I think you would be surprised.
We have watched one Bandmaid song so far, but we have more on our calendar. Keep your eye out for more and check out videos for our first Bandmaid song experience 🤘🦖
Band-Maid is awesome, so it's a shame you are the type of spiteful fan representing them in the comments section.
The one performance of this song that will get most is from the "Legend M " show. If I need a good cry...That's what I put on.
RIP Mikio Fujioka, Master 😢 ur shining un the dark 🥺
Nice reaction to this beautiful song. You should defo check out the version from the Legend M show, which is even more emotional when you get the chance :) 🤘🔥🦊
PS: As always with Babymetal, expect the unexpected!
