  • Chef Alfonso Cadena is basically a genius. On a normal day, he works at his amazing restaurant, La Leche, in Puerto Vallarta-one of Mexico's most beautiful beach cities-and when he's done with work, he goes up to the second-floor bar and has some drinks with his friends. When he's totally wasted, he hops on a small stage on one side of the restaurant and plays music with his band for some of his diehard foodies, and finally, when he's tired, he goes out to the parking lot, has a burrito in==from one of his food trucks, and calls it a night.
    We wanted to try some of that Mexican beach lifestyle with him for this week's Chef's Night Out and all we can say is: genius. Fucking genius.

    I enjoy watching all the Hispanic videos. My husband is Hispanic and I love the culture as much as I love the food & people.

      +JoeyEsqueda **whips out his plastic internet badge** actually, the cuisines of Guadalajara vary wildly from what would typically pass as "Mexican" and seeing as they were taking about ties to their own family "Mexican" might not apply. **puts the badge away** then again I have a friend from Ecuador named "bean-dip" sooooo...

      You mean Jalisco not Guadalajara. Guadalajara is a city and Jalisco is the state.

    that bit about what cooking really is about is so important i swear ppl think being a chef is nothing but chefs night outs....you get a handful of those every year and the rest is spent grinding

    This Chef's night out series has shown me that most Chef's are really boring people outside of a kitchen.

      +Kibbler When you work 12-17 hours a day, 5-6 times a week, even more if you're the owner, you don't have much of something called 'life'. The kitchen is our life.

      I saw a pasionate chef going out and some quite sexy food, I liked it. I guess it is not hipster enough for you.

    • @Yungdil
      @Yungdil 8 років тому +8

      Lmao nah. People just complain about this series no matter who the chef is. If the chef is mellow, he's boring but when a chef goes out and drink with his friends to have fun he's a hipster douche bag. This show can't win.

      +Junior Diaz My Turkish wife say's you "need to travel more" and I agree. Mexican cuisine is unique and varies widely by region. There is no denying that Mexico has a unique culinary heritage. However, to say no other culture or ethnicity can match Mexican cuisine in unique styles/taste/ and cooking technique aside from Italian, is ignorantly ethnocentric, narrow minded and patently false.

      Wabi-sabi8551 im not saying other countries foods arent good, just if you can compare the varieties, and taste, none can really match to our unique taste and styles, in such large selections available, other countries, you may have a few selections, and i have travel, from france,spain,italy,greece,morroco,germany and many more, none can compare.

    Too many subtitles ruin a video as most of the time is spent reading them and not concentrating on the actual video. A voice-over would work much better.
