I grew up in Oregon in the 1970's we had fires and a Smoky season. I live in North Eastern Washington State and we have fires now. Forest Management is complex and we now know better. There's been a build up of fuels over the last 70 years. I actually agree with you on this one.
Great topic on this video. We live in the we're about 2 mi in of the beginning of the New Jersey pine barrens. And yes every year we have a fire and Wheaton State Forest which is part of the pine barrens. But the one thing about New Jersey forestry services West Park and recreations. Start from March to June 1st control burnings to thin out all the brush. So this way it actually keeps the fires down and it helps the forest to regenerate and regrow. And we still have many many fire trails all throughout the pine barrens and the other thing that they do do do do do do do is put fire brake trenches and when they're doing their control burns. Wolf Creek video have a good night
Amen! From a frustrated retired forester that watched the timber companies in the south practically stop prescribed burning. Now we have brushed up thickets with underbrush 20 feet high just waiting for a source of ignition. Last year, Louisiana had its largest wildfire ever recorded at 31,000 acres in one fire, along with several other major forest fires. This may not be large by western standards, but in the south, that’s huge.
I follow a guy that lives on Vancouver Island. OutlawCountry,, do you know of him? his name is Daron, he's an outdoorsman and hunter. He is about 52 or so. Youngster. LOL
Don't you just love Politicians? Can't say as I do. It too me until just recently to actually trust and government agencies. My son the 56 year old Jarhead talked me into it. LOL
Makes total sense to me!! Preach it!!!
Thanks Sis!
Great video. Reminded me of a saying my dad had. "If you want something fixed, get the government involved ".
Cheers!!
lol ya they'll fix it! 🤣 Cheers!

We've always had them, I just don't remember the smokey season but yes the fuel load is too high. Cheers

It's sad because we need to do better, and by that, I mean log!
@@TheOldJarheadAt least in this area of the country, most of the timberlands are owned by timber companies or private individuals. We still log here.
We have some logging here but not much. Our forests are too thick and unhealthy
In the PNW the fire is very important for forests ("fire ecology") but the human manipulation of the environment have changed the natural equilibrium.
YT is playing tricks on me as I know I replied but my reply is not always visible! lol so, hmmm...I'll wait and see if they fix it!

Grrr ok thanks! I'll go back again when I'm in the office

Hey Mike, nope, but I will have to find him. I go up periodically to see family.

Trusting politicians is like trusting a cat to keep an eye on your goldfish-never a good idea!
