HOLY COW that was a pain in the rear end... but it did work to clean it.... took an hour plus to do. I wish the video would have showed how they actually CLEANED the blades as the screw that holds them onto the motor would not loosen. Someone mentioned using your air compressor and that did a pretty good job. I can see why people toss these in the trash once they get really dirty...
I have disassembled one already and, unfortunately, I did it the brute strength way and ended up tossing it into the dumpster (where I got it from in the first place.) The next one was also from the dumpster and I took my time, this time, and opened it up, cleaned it, and reassembled it. It's working as I type this. I began at the bottom and disassembled as I went up. Watching this video showed me how to do it WITHOUT disassembling the floor base. Thank you, RandomTopics! And, now, I have a third!!! fan that I will try this "top-down" approach first. I love these fans. But, I can understand why people just throw them away when dirty. I'm retired so I don't mind free fans and cleaning them! :D
The big question is... Why didn't they simply have that back metal piece screw off with 4-6 screws so it can be cleaned?? I like the hint of using an air compressor.... worked very well.
Since purchasing it, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxQuBMI30VhO6fDed6NOsYftsoNa8x0UZ5 this fan is a trustworthy companion during the hot nights in Texas for me. The sleep mode is really quiet and gives you smooth wind to cool down. At full speed the fan is quite noisy but also very strong.Only weird thing is that if there is a draught from another fan, the sleep mode would speed up occasionally (getting a bit louder, probably to level 2 out of 4). This never happened so far when I used only this fan though.
Great video! I can’t believe how much I had to take apart to clean this fan! But once I got to the back was determined to finish what I started. Despite not being sure I’d get it back together. I finally got it back together but I admit the cartridge is off balance and makes a lot of noise. I’m going to take off the top parts and fix the cartridge, at least I now know how to take it apart and get it back together.
I agree! I just clean three tower fan and this band is very poor! I almost smash it and run it over 100x! The two brand took me less than 1 hour to clean. I took all them apart.
Why didn't they make the back metal part simply unscrew and come off so you can use an air compressor to blow away the built up dust? Why have to take the unit basically fully apart to clean it??
NO WONDER someone gave this fan to me free! When I turn it on, it smells like all the pollen it had been filtering out before it was given to me. No way to clean it. After seeing the fourth set of screws, I was out. This is too much! But thank you sir for the video!
Caution: I do not recommend opening it, reassembling it was a nightmare for me, I ruined the back cover while trying. Try blowing pressured air if you just want to clean it!
Have you cleaned it since by simply using an air compressor?? I saw your comment once I couldn't get the blades off the motor and the air compressor worked GREAT... but yes, putting it back together was a pain.
It's a nightmare to put back together. Spent hours. Parts do not fit well together and it's completely unintuitive. Hate to say it but a vacuum and can of compressed air is likely your best bet
Imagine doing all that work to take it apart....and then you still get to clean cobs of sticky dust off your ancient fan blades and then reassemble the blasted thing😂
You can do it... it would be easier with two people, I did it by myself. You need to force the top pieces on and don't be afraid to use some power. Horrible design.
Yup. I can take it apart but impossible to put the sheet metal in the back together no matter how hard I try. Going into the dumpster! Never doing this again! Poor design and manufacturer wants you to buy another one instead of cleaning it. 😢
Had mine for 2 years now at first 2 speeds it really struggles, fine at faster speeds. U think that it just needs a breakdown and clean? Like you are showing? Thanks!
I started at 5:30 pm till almost 9:30 pm ...the majority trying to fit the back covering ....by clamping and sliding the 5 per side slot.....this end up in the trash tomorrow dump....not worth it
I was thinking the same... luckily I was able to get it on by stepping on the base and using a hand on each side... two people would make it much easier.
hello two items 1-dissassembeling the fan is great BUt putting it back r is impossible ,can you do a Utube to show how to assemble it together and please do not say just follow the video back words, several people tried to put it back after disassembling the fan it it was absolute impossible and disastrous. can you do a u tube on how to assemble the fan after disassembling the fan it will be fantastic.thanks again.
there's no screw on the top of this "Seville Classic" fan of mine but the rest looks the same lol gosh so much work just to clean this fan wish they made it easer. sigh... wish u can do it for me LOL think i know how to take it apart but to put it back together that s another thing. lol
I have the same fan, the power button doesn't work so I use the control remote and sometimes it doesn't start to blow air, I mean the engine doesn't start. It's just a random failure. All this happens with normal use at home. Also, I have a modern model it's the same fan and brand and the failures appear in less time like 1 year or less. The same failures!
This doesn't show how to take off that screw that attaches the inside piece to the motor so how can you wash it if it is still attached to the motor. i broke a lot of those cheap plastic tabs on the way off, and now i am struggling to figure out how to get it back together. I regret starting this process. many days on the floor in parts!
Guys, don’t do this honestly. It’s literally impossible to put it back together. I didn’t read the comments and opened it. So NOT worth the hours of trying to get it all back together.
I can honestly say this one was a pain in the arse. Way worse than a lasko. It would be nice if the wiring harness had connectors rathet than crimp connections. The one i tore down last night looked like cousin IT was blown up inside of it. That thing was hairier than Madanas pits in the 80s.
Open it actually not bad... But putting back together. Is even worse. Just opened mine to clean, and literally about to just give up and throw it all away. Metal casing just won't line up. And it's extremely frustrating
I got it back together... you need to unscrew that rubber bushing at the top so you can reach the fan blade shaft... I wish this guy would have included the few helpful steps in the video above... Also, use an air compressor to clean the blades as I couldn't get them off the motor shaft.

This is the second time cleaning my fan from this video. It's so helpful, thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this video. Your camera angles are good and clear, and this video is very helpful. Thank you.

This is so complicated for just cleaning. The design should have been easy for annual cleaning maintenance.
I agree! I just clean three tower fan and this band is very poor! I almost smash it and run it over 100x! The two brand took me less than 1 hour to clean. I took all them apart.
Thanks commenters for all the warnings! I hate brands that make it hard or impossible to maintain something that you spent good money on.
What a poorly assembled device. Did the manufacturer think it's a throwaway and not to be cleaned?
Why didn't they make the back metal part simply unscrew and come off so you can use an air compressor to blow away the built up dust? Why have to take the unit basically fully apart to clean it??

Try blowing pressured air if you just want to clean it!
thats exactly what I did. A can of pressurized air works wonders. Once I saw the amount of screws he was taking out I was like no thank you.
I had the same issue, tab broken while opening bottom back cover
Same......30 mins to take it apart
1 plus hour and ongoing to try to put the silver back cover on
Have you cleaned it since by simply using an air compressor?? I saw your comment once I couldn't get the blades off the motor and the air compressor worked GREAT... but yes, putting it back together was a pain.
@jc9561 I do not have access to an air compressor, unfortunately, but I'm lightly using it these days, and I'm not too worried about dust.
what an excellent job you did on this video,, thank you!
I’m going to run the fan over with my car when I’m done using it. What a nightmare. Thanks for only video that makes sense
Its amazing how long this fan last. It was given to me a year ago. Hand me down. Its still working.
is there a video of how to reassamble this one ? im in trouble
Yo same here ugh. Wth
Same here, I guess I ruined the back cover
Same for me, its a fuc&$?ing nigthmare
Same here 12:30 am so sleepy and tired 😂 😬
😢😢😢😢😢 same
Excelente vídeo, gracias por compartir 😊
My tower fan basically was designed to never be cleaned
how could they have made something so difficult to clean!
It's a nightmare to put back together. Spent hours. Parts do not fit well together and it's completely unintuitive. Hate to say it but a vacuum and can of compressed air is likely your best bet
Fantastic.
Imagine doing all that work to take it apart....and then you still get to clean cobs of sticky dust off your ancient fan blades and then reassemble the blasted thing😂
Took it apart, but now I can’t put it back together. Ugh 😭
Same 😭

Lube the top and bottom fan shaft bushings/bearings with light motor oil such as 3in1. Don't use car oil as it gums up.
I started at 5:30 pm till almost 9:30 pm ...the majority trying to fit the back covering ....by clamping and sliding the 5 per side slot.....this end up in the trash tomorrow dump....not worth it

@jc9561 true. Solo mode for me

You need to take the two screws off that hold the rubber bushing at the top and then the upper shaft can be reached.
there's no screw on the top of this "Seville Classic" fan of mine but the rest looks the same lol
gosh so much work just to clean this fan wish they made it easer. sigh... wish u can do it for me LOL think i know how to take it apart but to put it back together that s another thing. lol
This really makes me think a bladeless fan like a Dyson is the way to go
Mi ventilador no enciende la tarjeta
No le entendí lo que dijo pero Gracias por lo que ví pude limpiar mí ventilador i gualito al del vídeo gracias

Muchas muchas gracias.
Lubrication step would be nice also in the video, and any specific issues reassembling.

Same for me, I think that screw is locked on. So I used an air compressor, worked pretty good... of course, do it outside, dust went everywhere.
Believe me, dont ever try this. It’s much harder to build back.
The cover of the fan is a poor design.
I can’t put back the metal part, this was a terrible idea...
@AcidBath Spa and Resort Absolutely, that was a mistake.
@AcidBath Spa and Resort lol. Took me an hour to put it back
@@glumGlummhow did you do it? Send tips lol
Todo bien, lo q no se ahora es armarlo 😭 las piezas ya no encajan
Watch the video backwards!!
Guys, don’t do this honestly. It’s literally impossible to put it back together. I didn’t read the comments and opened it. So NOT worth the hours of trying to get it all back together.
why do they make it so hard? geeeeezzz

They purposely made this fan next to impossible to open and clean so that you will buy a new one once it's all clogged up, very sad.
Open it actually not bad... But putting back together. Is even worse. Just opened mine to clean, and literally about to just give up and throw it all away. Metal casing just won't line up. And it's extremely frustrating
Far out! I will never buy something like this ever again.
Impossible to reassemble…I advise not to purchase this product as you cannot clean it!!
But very informative video 👍🏻
I got it back together... you need to unscrew that rubber bushing at the top so you can reach the fan blade shaft... I wish this guy would have included the few helpful steps in the video above...
Also, use an air compressor to clean the blades as I couldn't get them off the motor shaft.
my fan is so complicated. but thanks
Far too many screws to get inside to clean the interior. Buy another brand of fan!
That’s a lot of work just to clean
This brand is cheap. So many screws to take off. I had 3 different brand fan and this one is the worst. Buy Lasko they are good brand!
Please NEVER open this fan…. It is a fuc$&%# ing Nightmare trying to reassemble it back. Dont do it…!
Too complicated. I'm out.
Name of the music?
