i just want to say i’ve always really appreciated how vocal you guys were/are about covid and vaccinations. your compassion for others is a beautiful bright spot in the bleakness of the internet. thank you!!
To the write-in about the homemade quilt: if your guy has a computer set up, maybe he could hang the blanket on the wall like a display! Or keep it draped over the computer chair
Unfortunately, most jobs in America want you to stay home when you are sick but won't give you the time to stay home without the threat of being fired.
i love hearing people talk openly about covid and getting the vaccine. i’m getting the newest one soon and i can’t wait tbh. i started masking again about a year ago because it just felt like we all stopped a little prematurely. eventually once i personally feel safe to i’ll stop, but i’ll definitely still be masking when i’m sick or when i’m around someone who is, and DEFINITELY when going into a hospital. i honestly couldn’t even believe they lifted hospital mask mandates at all. feels like we all should’ve been masking in hospitals just always.
Yeah, I think it's insane in hospitals of all places, that people don't seem to care anymore. I'll mask up in any medical facility or crowded store. I mean, what's the downside?
@@S_J_banana Sure but people think masking up is just done period. We should still be masking when we feel under the weather and what not. People are just like "pandemic done - masks no longer ever needed".
It's so surreal sometimes hearing about how others' COVID experiences are, since we're still fully masked and locked down in our little disabled household 😭but I'm really glad that Becky's experience was so easy! Despite vaccine the one time I got COVID it was severe breathing issues for a month, couldn't leave my apartment for three, and it's been a year and a half of major heart and lung symptoms, ughhh. And yet, never had loss of taste or smell! Bodies are weird. 😂 Relieved that I finally am able to see a cardiologist in a couple weeks, got an inhaler that actually works last month, and my partner bought me an adjustable bed so I can lie down without lung pain, so things seem to be turning around, knock on wood. ❤
Escalator etiquette: Single file to the right if you are going to stand so that people in a rush can move past you on the left. I miss my train a lot because of people standing on the escalator.
42:00 I know not everyone is gonna be comfortable doing this, but when men, especially on planes, manspread I get big back at them. Not aggressively shoving, but I leave my elbow or my leg until they get the message
my husband and I use separate blankets. We don't like sheets outside of the fitted sheets. Just fold the blankets up on our sides and it works. No one goes in our room anyway. Do they have a gaming room or office or something? He could hang it on the wall as decoration for a gaming room with the mother-in-law, its not good for your kids to see that you are allowing yourself to be treated poorly by family. If she cannot respect you as the mother of her grandchildren and the wife to her son, then I wouldn't allow any contact until she figures it out.
There was a guy that clearly was coupled up with the lady beside my seat and he took it without asking me and clearly boarded before our group was called. And my seat was wayyyyyy behind his seat so I had to say sorry to A TON of people because I had to backtrack to get this his seat when people were boarding. Had he waited until we were in the air and asked I have felt better about it. I was just so stunned and they were already cuddling and holding hands that I felt bad but looking back I should have said "no, get out of my seat" especially since they didn't even try to find out who was seating next to her to ask for a switch before boarding ...
I am also from the Midwest and I also have a quilt of theatre shows I’ve been in, camps I went to, choir events, musicals I’ve seen, sports I’ve been in. And I would probably fold it up and box it up. As much as I love it and am proud of it, I wouldn’t want to force my partner to sleep in it
25:30 this this this haha I have OCD and I’m the messiest sister and struggling with cleaning regularly. None of us are meticulous in the same way 26:15 this would also bother me 😂
During the height of covid infections where i live, vaccines definitely helped prevent more severe conditions like fever or losing taste and smell. I had a really bad sore throat only and didnt know it was covid and not the flu
My husband and my parents all had Covid and I never caught it I tested like crazy and totally expected to get it. I never did. I got my most recent vax right after all this. They can’t get their next shot until next month after having it
3:33 Another first wave here. And I mean like, before it was being talked about HERE. Back when it was an "over there" disease. My sister's company shared a building with an optometrist. The optometrist had a patient who had just came back from the region. Then my sister's company had a potluck with the doctor. Then I went over a few days after Xmas. It was January 2020, and I had felt bad for a few days and then one day..... BOOM. I slept for 20 hours (not in a row, but 20 out of 24 hours). It was horrendous. I can't really remember those 3 days.
My MIL is the same way as the woman who emailed in. It’s so bad to the point where we have a message thread without her just to tell each other about the small stuff that the MIL blows out of proportion and makes dramatic over nothing
I'm in NZ, we have subsidised COVID tests through our GP's if needed, and test each time feel a tad under the weather/cold symptoms. Lot of people here still mask up, and employer's are great with work-from-home if you're testing positive. I think a lack of these things globally plays a factor into why we're still dealing with SARS-CoV to the global extent we are; totally agree with Maggie, mask up if in doubt, people! 💟
The most annoying plane seat situation I've dealt with since COVID was me in a mask and they with no mask kept taking more and more of my space every single time I moved over a bit more because they were TOUCHING me
50:30 my sister and I were at a festival together a few years ago. Late in the night probably the last set on we’re chilling and sharing a bottle of water and this lady next to us was non stop asking us for our water bottle, we kept saying no, germs etc and there was bubblers and places you could buy / refill bottles of water. She and her partner were ready to start a fight over a water bottle. My sister and I were like hard no, go and your own water. Probs not super weird but a intense situation lols
That Delta comfort issue is a scam. People book 1 expensive and and then 1 cheap and then try to con someone to give up their expensive seat. Upgrading up to comfort class can be hundreds per segment.
I'm in the UK and got my 2 vaccines, and then last year I caught Covid for the first time since Covid started. I don't know how, considering my husband had it twice before me and so did my 1 yr old daughter (at the time), and I was the one going out to do the shopping, taking the kids to places (when not in lockdown etc, all safely done with masks when needed ). It took me a few weeks to feel like my lungs were working at full capacity again but other than that and some extra tiredness I was ok. We'd just had a rather nasty strain of Covid as well then so I'm glad I was vaccinated at the time as I dread to think how it could have affected me since my immune system took a hit 2 Christmasses ago and triggered all my hypermobility, plus the sleep issue I'm still dealing with (possible ME/CFS)
@@ttisol yes. I went back and Fast forwarded the last few episodes and she wasn’t interacting in those either. 🫤 I thought maybe she was sick but she answered in this episode on loving a show. And that was literally it.
Same! Missed Rainie in this one and hope she’ll be in episodes again, if she wants to of course ❤ it’s prob hard to juggle producing a show and interacting
If you decide to try kid music I highly recommend Trout Fishing in America. Their songs appeal to adults and they use a variety of styles such as blues and rock.
At this point with that MIL she's going to be bitter betty and feel like her daughter in law is just asking out of pitty. Poor girl is at a lose lose situation now. That said I'm on her side. It's kind of always a thing that the wife is going to be closer to her own parents when grandbabies happen. MIL is just going to have to deal with it.
I'm glad people enjoyed Percy Jackson, I was really disappointed with the pacing and tone. I found myself bored during what should have been exciting action sequences. And no interesting chemistry/relationship between the characters, no banter? It didn't feel at all like the books, which is fine, but it didn't feel like anything much. But maybe if you haven't read the book in a while, I could see it being a bit more enjoyable.

I want Zach on the pod so that Becky can air out her grievances 🤣🤣
The most underrated duo
Learning Zach grew up with a lot of Bob Marley is the most unsurprising thing I’ve heard lol

I so agree. Their outro makes me so happy every time - these are definitely my people. Lol.

Saw a quote online “be kind to your mum, it’s her first time living too” broke me
Unfortunately, most jobs in America want you to stay home when you are sick but won't give you the time to stay home without the threat of being fired.
Use the solid duvet as the main blanket, and fold the quilt on the end.
Zach growing up with a lot of bob marley music makes SO much sense 😂

But most people should be vaccinate by now so the risks are lower, at least where I’m from that’s what we were told.

This is an unspoken rule in DC 😂
The tshirt quilt should be folded at the foot of the bed for if and when you get cold
Two separate blankets on the bed was a game changer for my husband and I! An easy problem solver 😊
Use the quilt as the sofa cuddle blanket
I need so much more of Percy Jackson than what we got. Seeing the 8th episode as the season finale PISSED ME OFF BEYOND BELIEF 😭😭
there will be a season two but i really hope it’ll be longer

I have never clicked like on a podcast. I did on this one because of Becky's love for SW. ❤

omg Deadloch! I love that show, and am glad it's seeing success outside of Australia. The main actress recently won an award for it!

Maggie, the person who sits in the middle gets BOTH arm rests. You want the armrest, book a middle seat. Flight attendants will take your side.
