So sad for your painful end. My husband passed in comfort as his pain was well managed. Thankfully. We are spirit beings who reside in a physical body for a short time. He lives on and I look forward to being with him again one day.
This absolutely broke my heart, I am absolutely devastated that you lost your beautiful wife like this, my husband died two years ago of inoperable liver cancer and he also suffered at the end, I’m so sorry for your loss, and yes when it comes to cases like this you should be able to make the decisions yourself tithe end, everyone deserves a peaceful pain free death.
I'm so sorry for your loss. My dad passed away from the same type of cancer. He was diagnosed on February 6th, 2012 and passed away February 26th, 2021. He also was in a lot of pain. He had pain medicine, but that only worked for a short time. They finally got him something stronger, and he passed peacefully. His state doesn't have the Death with dignity Law. It's extremely hard to watch someone you love, be in that kind of pain.🙏
I've thought about this a lot since losing so many loved ones to cancer. It is not a nice or pretty death. It is so hard on the family as they are dying inside too and feel helpless. I do not want to put my family through that nor do I want to die horribly and drowning on my own fluids. I'm all for choice. I know it is not for everyone but, for some.
So sorry for your sad news. My husband’s death was over 8 yrs ago. I still can see the horrific pain he went through. I have breast cancer I opted for a bilateral radical mastectomy. When my time is near I will request death with dignity. I fully support this final option instead of the suffering I watched my husband go through. When our pets are suffering we can choose to have the Veterinarian end their life. We should all have the same option. 🙏
Makes me so angry how many oppose death with dignity and thereby force others to have excruciating and painful deaths. Nobody is stopping people having painful deaths if they want it, but don't force that on the rest of us.
Laura was four years younger than me. I'm grateful to God that so far, I don't have cancer. I know it must seem strange that while I am pro-life when it comes to infants, I am 100% behind anyone who feels that their quality of life due to terminal illness is depleted to the point that they would rather die on their own terms rather than suffer right up to the end. It is shameful that our healthcare system does not allow for compassionate euthanasia. I worked in a hospital for 6 years. I've had to watch people die--some from accidents, some from crime and some from terminal illness. For some, death is as peaceful as falling asleep and for others it's pain, suffering, misery beyond measure while gasping for air and fighting to keep alive. It's funny how we show our pets so much compassion when it comes to the end of their lives yet, when it comes to our loved ones somehow allowing them to decide the hour to end their suffering is taboo.
If someone have a few months to live I pray they will get to live those months with as much peace and dignety as possible and if that include the right to end ones life early I support it. Though I belive in that there is always hope I also belive that people should not suffer without reason in their last days. God Bless You All.
Massachusetts is my home state as well, and though we are at the forefront in so many areas, our lack of death with dignity here is a crime to the dying and their families. We should all write to Gov Healy and ask her to remember those suffering, and that her support is crucial to all citizens of Massachusetts. It should be legal in the entire country, but the fact that many can’t make many of their health and personal decisions, death with dignity will be slow for those residents with even less choice. Prayers to Laura the Angel.
Was there any hospice? As a retired oncology nurse I am very disappointed to hear her speaking of such distress in her final days. I never let a patient and family endure anything but a peaceful passing. I know there are no words to take away the pain of what you and Laura went through but I am truly sorry for your loss.
I agree with you, animals are not allowed to suffer they are euthanized, humans if they are in so much agony and there is no hope of a cure should be allowed to choose how they end their days. How sad for those left behind and witnessing their loved one in pain. That will be their lasting memory, everyone deserves a peaceful death and no one should dictate differently......Rest in peace Laura.
So sorry she wasn't kept pain free. I'm sure it was difficult enough to know the end is near, but to spend your last days in brutal pain is not acceptable.
I'm so very sorry. Where was her support team? She should have been HIGHLY medicated. She should have been completely under pain medicine. That's just so sad. 😢❤
I have always believed in a choice. This should not be a religious thing. Church and state is separate and your life is between you and your god or no god. It is awful to watch ppl die painful horrible death so that those of faith can sleep at nigh. Ridiculous.
I have lung cancer stage 4 i am thinking of death with dignity. I am 77 yrs old survival is 5 years. it had spread to my bone femur and near my spine. i have to find out details on it and how much it will cost! RIP Laura sorry for your loss Chris!
So sorry to hear this Eileen , Ive heard how any bone cancer is the most painful of all of them.. I too wish for dignitas , but i live in uk, so i have to travel to switzerland. Besides joining Dignitas for £200 , it will cost approx £10,000 / £10k ... ..including flight there . I guess it depends where you are . In usa , only so many states have allowed for dying with dignity package ... You should be able to find which states, etc and how much it is online.. I have heard it can cost roughly between $3000 - $5000 in california for example .... Wishing you a comfortable journey, whatever you decide to do. 💚💚💚💚
death with dignity is not the end of suffering if you do not have Jesus in your life. You do not get to heaven being a good person, or doing good deeds. The bible says, unless you are born again, you cannot seen the kingdom of god. We are all sinners upon birth, and if we dont repent and trust in Jesus, we will go to hell. Research for yourself. it sounds harsh, but there is no other way than through Jesus. You are to put it in Gods hands, because you are not the owner of yourself, God is. And if you trust in Him, he will give you what it takes to get through. Its in his hands, not yours. But you must ask him into your life first, and he will give you eternal life. I only tell you this cuz I care, and so does Jesus.
she is showing respect. Just cus u dont believe in an afterlife, dont knock someone who does. She is only speaking what the bible tells us. And that is Jesus. The bible says, unless you are born again, you cant go to heaven, no matter how good of a person you are. And if you dont have salvation thru Jesus Christ, you will go to hell, and that includes you, whether you choose to believe it or not. So death with dignity is not the end of your suffering, if you do not have Jesus in your life. @@donkey3187
May you rest in piece and onto the hands of the creator that we all one day will meet again. Lord pray for all of us that thrives for forgiveness. This world has gone very bad. People killing each other and wars swallowing the good and bads. Jesus bring your spirit into everyone's heart so they wake up from their darkness and into your light. “When you don’t have a choice, you should have an option”. This perfectly expresses how it should be for everyone facing the end of their life.
Such an important message. So sorry for the journey Laura had to take.
So sad for your painful end. My husband passed in comfort as his pain was well managed. Thankfully. We are spirit beings who reside in a physical body for a short time. He lives on and I look forward to being with him again one day.
I support it because it should be for each person to choose for themselves what they want no matter what others say.

Here in Canada we have MAID. It's very easy to qualify. It's nice to know that you have an exit plan when your suffering . Hugs
I'm so sorry.
What can I do to help support your cause Chris?

Unacceptable when someone who is terminal is made to bear that pain because it offends others to end the life a little early.

Death is way, way too sad. We should be able to drug ourselves up and enjoy our last days not knowing of any pain.
Keep the message going!
Very true. It’s a personal choice.

And that option should come at a cheap prize so that income has no affect on your choice.

There is no such thing as dying with dignity
Definitely think you should have an option. Rip
No Fentanyl patches anymore???

Please stay on topic instead of preaching your religion...show some respect.
