That crowdsurfing at the end made me cry. In terms of graphics, think of the picture of him being beaten, followed by him being upheld by all those arms. What an amazing pair of "panels" and a true testament to the work Lewis has done in his lifetime.

I can just see it now .....
☆John Lewis walks through the Pearly Gates & the Angels see John Lewis enter into Heaven. They rush to meet him forming a crowd around him to welcome him. God looks up to see what's happening & spots the Congressman & calls to him.☆
*God:* "John! Come sit on my Right Hand side where you belong!"
*John Lewis:* "Lord I will come to you, as soon as I can get through this crowd!"
*Archangel Gabriel:* "Don't worry John we got this."
☆The Archangels Gabriel & Michael pick him up. & pass him over to the crowd of Angels who crowd surf him to over to. Gods Right Hand side where he belongs.☆
      Here endeth the lesson.

The real question is what can we do to reduce gun violence? The answer is mental health checks and background checks... His answer of gun bans can't work here in the US. Why you may ask? There are over 300 million guns in the US more than any other country. The next two countries Switzerland and Finland have the second and third most guns, and they have some of the least crime in the world. They don't do gun bans, but health/mental/background checks.

Sadly, Sushant, Canada has some big horrible issues, too, but they're just MUCH smaller, about 1/10 of the USA population and less than the state of California, yet the actual acreage is close to equal. They have a lot of the world fooled; they have big racism (absurd that thousands of Confederate flags fly in rural Ontario, for instance) and environmental horrors ongoing, but it's spread out far more making it not nearly as confrontational. Global awareness is more important now because our global population has doubled in 50 years. Canada has never had anyone of the stature of John Lewis. (btw, I have spent years in Nepal and India, too) All One ~ ONE LOVE

It's one thing to learn of the civil rights struggle, it's another to read it from the first person. He LIVED the history. I heard him speak years ago and he utterly blew me away. I raced out to get his book and it truly is incredible.

Never wouldve guess he'd mention Troy, AL. I'd be surprised if most people even knew there was a Troy, AL.

I totally see John Lewis crowd surfing his way into Heaven.
*Archangel Gabriel:* "Don't worry Congressman Lewis we got this."
☆The Archangels Gabriel & Michael pick up Joh Lewis. & pass him over to the crowd of Angels who crowd surf him to over to. Gods Right Hand side where he belongs.☆
    Here endeth the lesson.

I can't imagine sitting down and talking with that man and telling him to his face that he's wrong about anything. He's never loud, but... his voice is just so intense, and his gaze is just as determined.
