How medal event is judged:
Elimination:
1 heat of 8 athletes in an 8-minute jam session. Based on overall impression, ranked 1-8. Judges will rank competitors throughout the contest. Athletes ranked 1-4 will advance to the final.
Final:
1 heat of 4 athletes in a 4-minute jam session. Based on overall impression, ranked 1-4. Judges will rank competitors throughout the contest.

I find even the best trick was very questionable scoring
He was barley side ways in comparison whips aren't about how upside down you go. He also showed no variety like almost every other guy. He didn't understand the assignment.

they need to figure out a better way to judge these events. They need to be rewatching them in slomo to see who went more upside down, backwards etc.

This has to some of the worst camera angles I’ve seen for a whip contest. Long wide high and from the side is the best view. Drone close up can be used for replays. And quite possibly the 2 worst shots is from behind the launch area and below the launch ramp. And they even missed some other f the best looking whips. Sad cameras team. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

You guys are slipping on calling this event...was parsons not the only one switch hitting and throwing equally insane whips in both directions? Standard and southpaw? Between that, Tyler's mediocre whips. And McNeil getting absolutely f*cked off on his score. I have all but lost faith in the credibility of your judgment in scoring..not to take anything from Tyler. I'm sure if you stuck all three of them in a room and asked them who they think won.. they would more than likely say Parsons..and McNeil should have at very least podiumed this event

Jarryd throws more backwards upside down sideways than anyone and doesn't make finals. Something not right with judges, dodgy and shouldn't be there. Ruins competition as if riders your favourite he'll win. They got rid of best bloke risking his life to perform for everyone probably because he's Australian. They had to have American's win as Aussie's beating them at every other sort of racing. Was stoked to watch event until I saw that. Bullshit
