I am 69 years old and about to do my air brakes pre trip for the first time ever. Have watched a lot of videos online but yours is the best so far that has appealed to my advancing years! Thank you for putting up this video!
Hi Amy Yeah the DMV's across the country are still making their slow change over to the new format. One of these they will get it right. In the mean time thank you for the info I'll see to it I address the differences.
I appreciate the video, however in California, you will need to identify each part IE the pitman arm, Drag link and steering knuckle all need to be identified and talked about. You can not group items or they will tell you to identify or they will fail you.
At 13:00 safety check, you didn’t mention your seatbelt is in good working condition. At 16:45 missed the tractor tail lights. At 23:15 missed saying front tire is not recapped or regrooved.
@@hmtrimworks7148 Thank you for the comments. Again this was a video for teaching in the classroom. I say at the end I left out a couple things for that purpose so the students would think and not just repeat. Sounds like it served its purpose for you. However you don’t have to pretrip the seatbelt anymore you just have to put it on. You don’t pretrip the tractor taillights either. Be safe out there.
@@marcialmontecinos1057 if you listen to the end, I left out a few for teaching purposes. I didn’t leave enough out to fail so as student’s go, pay attention and you will make it. Good luck.

@@AlokeSurin Well my man go kick it in the rear and thank you. This is what I did it for.
After 30years of driving a truck, I have become complacent to the systemic tests involved, thanks for the refresher course.
You are welcome I’m glad even a veteran such as yourself would watch it, thank you.
We use your video at my Trucking School a detailed 5th wheel video will be nice !
That is so cool Kyle, thank you. I'm in the works on a hook and drop video. I'll do that at the same time, thank you.
Thank you for this lesson
@@Mr2000toky You are very welcome.

You are incorrect or still clumping the old pre-trip as is a common mistake. You also can't be failed for missing a pre-trip part.
Thank you though for replying.
