Im a certified Wildlife Biologist and retired Biology teacher and your research videos and other videos i've been watching are super informative and awesomely done. You have a great presentation style so keep making these great videos.
Thanks a bunch for this. The weather has been CRAZY this year and I’ve been going nuts as a brand new angler, trying to pick out baits. I fish from the bank and use a thermometer. This will make it a lot easier to at least be in the ballpark! Really, thank you.
Great video! I'm a lifelong angler,I'm pretty experienced but I still like to watch intermediate fishing tutorials to touch up on forgotten knowledge,it really helps
Thanks for this. We’ve had CRAZY weather this winter and spring and, as a brand new angler I’ve been going nuts picking lures. Fishing from the bank but using a thermometer.
Excellent advice,it'll be put to good use like all your other advice,I literally go straight out there and try all techniques and baits that you recommend and most have given great results! Thanks
I'm in central texas. We are just getting into the turnover. It hasn't happened yet, but I've noticed the water Temps cooling. The bite here around me has picked up, along with the aggressive bite of bass. They are also starting to darken up, which is a sign the turnover is approaching. Great info!
@@geraldbergevin1544 overnight air temp can definitely have an impact on bass. Sometimes in the spring if you have warm nights the bass will really push up shallow, especially during the prespawn. On the other side, sometimes cool night in th spring can make fish shut down for a few hours because it will bring the water temp down
Thanks for the info Sir! Is the water temp at surface? Also, each day has a high and low temp, as much as 47low and 80high on my lake. Does the spawn at 60 need to be a low of 60, a high or an average? Thanks for any thoughts on this and happy fishing!!
Just curious what effects bass more ? Temp or Sun angle(seasonal change). Would a bass from Minnesota be actively feeding in the middle winter if you dropped him in AZ? Water temps are similar in opposite seasons.
Thats an interesting concept, I would imagine if you dropped a bass from Minnesota in Arizona it would be a little confused for a while, but I believe it would slowly adjust to the temperatures of Arizona and start to take on Arizona seasonal patterns. Probably similar to if you decided to move to China. It would take a little time getting used to the time difference, but you would eventually adjust
Awesome vid man, i have a question tho. What if the body of water you fish is at max 5.5” in depth??? Do i look for shaded areas??? Under docks and trees n stuff???? 🤔
Yes cover is going to be critical in a lake like that. I have several that I fish that are similar to that. Shade is key, especially in summer when the whole lake is going to be very hot. Find shade and find bass. Typically what I have seen on lakes like this is that fish will group up shallow. You may hit 15 shade pockets or docks and not catch anything, but then you hit the right one and you will catch several in the same place.
My question is the whole body of water with same temperature or the temperature varies depending on the depth of the lake as well? When you say winter water temperature is 45 that means is 45 at the bank at 5 feet of water and as well in the middle of the lake at 40 feet of water? Thank you
@@BassFishingHQ if you don’t mind me asking, what’s the earliest you’d suggest in the Spring. This is gonna be a day trip for us so I’d like to minimize the chances f getting skunked. Thanks, man!
Great video again man I appreciate all the information one question though does the water temperature hold for Smallmouth the same as Largemouth and the lake that I fish has a max depth of like 300 ft what depth would the smallest go to in that kind of water
My Bass Club is having a 100 percent payback on Alum Creek if you are interested in Fishing together? Let me know. I know last minute but it's on your favorite Lake!
Dude i love ur videos, i think you are the best to explain those things, but I swear it's hard to kepp it up on the datas(i'm from italy) every time u say a temperature i neet to traslate it to celsius on google and stop the video hahaha anyway, love ur content, keep it up❤
5 minutes in and I see this doesn’t really pertain to Florida 🤣 it’s Dec 27th and yesterday the air temp was in the low 30s and tomorrow is supposed to be back in the mid 80s 🤦♂️
At 4:45 my guy I just can’t stop laughing ;what you know we don’t ? Bass HQ : Florida waters may hit 100 degrees Mean While: Ohio in 80 plus years from this video you just wait ?? Hot water
Found it totally useless as far as chart goes. Would have been more useful to have lures and locations to find fish attached with each temp range in maybe a pdf left in description to download.

Thank you for your valuable time and valuable information 😊
Its really a good information for further research based on SST for finding good spots for fisherman to catch fish

Great video. Learned a lot. I bought a thermometer and now I’ll definitely use it.
Thanks Gerald, I hope it will help throughout the year!
Forgot to ask. Is overnight air temperature a good indicator of what phase a lake is in?

Thanks Adam!
Water Temp isn't everything, but it definitely can be a huge factor when it comes to finding bass! I hope this helps!

Sounds like GLSM in Ohio.
That 60-70 is August - Oct in the Pacific Northwest. Wish we had the warm a bit more of the year 😀
the water temp is 96 degrees right now in wister oklahoma

Hey Tyler! In this video you get on the red/orange chatterbait. Can you tell me what you had on for the trailer?
Hey Dan...check out this video which I show the exact trailer I was using ua-cam.com/video/PDh3NEOQTDc/v-deo.html
@@BassFishingHQ Structure Bug? Or Rage Bug? Also, assume you’ve fished Alum. Planning a trip there with a buddy this spring. Thoughts?
Rage bug. Alum is my favorite lake in central Ohio. Lots of big smallmouth and largemouth and they bite in the spring

Ill tell you this from what ive been dealing with florida bass shut down when the water gets in the 60s
