The perfect knot to tie a tarp! I tied one in spring over an exposed section of the porch by all four corners and it's still there, no sagging whatsoever.

This won’t work if using larger diameter rope. I have tried and tried to cinch this down and it slips repeatedly. Prob a good hitch for smaller diameter rope.

How about if your tying it with the object infront of you so theyre wrapped around the object infront and the two lines are infront of you (like shoe tying sorta setup?)

Is this one better than the "Truckie's Hitch"?

The trucker's hitch doesn't give you adjustable tension (not quickly/easily adjustable, anyway) like the taut-line hitch does, but the trucker's hitch will get your line under much higher tension. So both knots have their advantages!
