Saghir Khan, Delhi "Very nice information... It surely took me down the memory lane...Having been associated with an advertising agency and later on with the newspaper industry all throughout my working career, I enjoyed working and interacting with the Press guys.. watching your video so many memorable incidences came to mind in flashback....The exam result mention brought so many close encounters with the Press guys... Those were really unforgettable moments...👍"
Mehmood Saab Unique information, never even imagine about newspaper in minute detail. You have mentioned The Nawal Kishore Press, I remember reading about them, they played a prime role in printing many early Islamic literature, in Arabic, Persian and Urdu.
Prof Shafey kidwai , AMU " Just saw your astutely produced episode your insight into newspaper production is simply awe--inspiring.Now page make up is done by a software Quark Express .You are right to tell your listeners that newspapers rely on conversational words. One has to write the way he speaks, not the way he writes.your narration reminded me MC Chalapati Rao,one of best editors India ever produced. He hardly let any headline go to the press unless he looks at it .I was told once a subeditor used Lucknowite ,MC wrote to News Editor who is he I never met him I think he only exists on the page of National Herald . Your narration is very moving"
Pradeep Prakash - "Purani yaadeyin taaza ho gaeyein. My father used to say “ if you want to enrich your English vocabulary must read Sings of Times in Pioneer Paper”. Dr SN Ghosh was the architect of this column. Dr Ghosh never wrote his editorial while sitting. He used to give dictation to his steno while moving around his office table. In contrast MC ( Manikonda Chalapati Rau ) used to write editorial for National Herald on a full scape paper in his own handwriting and always used a fountain pen . He never took services of a stenographer for writing editorial. Both these stalwarts had their owns reasons for adopting their unique way of writing editorial."

My editor used to say headlines should be like French women, who tease you to look at them
