The other day I got to pass through this new expressway to Naia 2 for my intl flight. The grab driver said it finally opened for public use a month ago. Travelling from Manila on a Saturday afternoon (usual heavier uwian time to the nearby provinces), I was so worried about the southbound traffic. I ran late and can only afford an hour of travel, which is about half of what I usually calculate as my ideal travel time to any of the Naia terminals. I tried to calm myself down and discreetly suggested to the driver that I'm concerned about crazy Airport Rd but feeling positive anyways. He was certainly more positive than I was suggesting we take Macapagal Hwy and we'll get to Naia2 in 10mins max and saying with confidence I'll have more than enough time. True enough, he drove to a slot leading to this expressway and we got there in even less than 10. I can't help but express how amazed and grateful I was for the ride. I literally felt goosebumps, the pinchy sensation of tears pooling behind my eyeballs, and a lump in my throat, driving by along that road looking out at a beautiful, glorious Manila sunset making silhouettes of the MOA complex, just after typhoon Lawin left PAR. Thinking about leaving my beautiful country for a short while on a day like this, I hopped on a feels train. Regardless of its imperfections and issues, we both agreed, the driver and I, that we love our country anyway and seeing it progress makes us want to work harder and do better for it.

even though you have all these expressways, you still need to get cars off the road. don't let the new road be an excuse to increase private car use. the traffic will still return even if you build more roads. aside from new roads you also need to create more public transport options so that people will not always feel like they need to drive cars. too many cars is not good for cities.
Hopefully they will address the extension of LRT 1 to Cavite sooner to ease the congestion of the vehicles near Macapagal/Coastal Rd area. Ehh mauunahan pa ata yung development ng Entertainment City ehh.. Niyahaha

That area between the on-ramp from CAVITEX and off-ramp to Terminals 1 and 2 is pretty short. A potential bottleneck for merging vehicles from CAVITEX. @5:40
dont think this will be finished by december 2016. passed by the area a few days ago and saw that some of the columns that will supposedly connect this to the main skyway hasn't been built yet. i'll be surprised if it finishes by Q1 of 2017. probably late Q2 would be a more realistic timeline given the pace of the project. it looks good but done way too slow.
