I am minister of Music at my home church, and am involved in numerous activities through out the city. Once was apart of a community choir some years ago of the caliber to open up for John P. Kee, Kurt Carr, Kirk Franklin and so on.. Not bragging but that's what the Lord's allowed me to be a part of so far.
Y'all betta sing! I remember when the choir came to Philly to be at an A.M.E Y.P.D function! I swear the Lord was in that place!! YOU ALL HAVE IT GOING ON!! MUCH LOVE TO HOWARD AND ALL FOLKS THAT I KNOW THAT WHERE THERE AND THE ONES THAT AREN'T THERE ANYMORE. BLESSINGS!! Ap, Boston
This is one of those James Hall songs that 98% of the human population would be better of just listening to, and not trying to sing, or play!!! Ya'll was SANGIN' THOUGH! RESPECT!!!
I love this song! It's a wonderful song of praise! I was in the Gospel Choir at UNC Greensboro last year, and we sang this song all the time. It always makes me cry :)
It don't make NO sense for a choir to sound THIS good! Ya'll is sangin'(yes, I know I'm grammatically incorrect but it conveys better my meaning)!!! My next choir will have the mixed lineup thing going on, too.
Being that im a part of a choir i know whats its like to do a popular song n i have 2 say ....u guys ripped it :-) i love the real feel u gave 2 it YALL BETTER SANG 4 JESUS!
could anyone imagine at 5:18 there there was a FULL concert stringed orchestra playing from 5:18 until the end!!i was just picturing how melodical it would be with all the different strings and chords....man i love music
Oh my, my,my, this is something special, this version is so clear and in my opinion better than James Hall's version. Now I'm not trying to start anything its just my opinion. This version is much cleaner and clearer. Ya'll better SANGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!
Well, James Hall and WAP is a performance (recording) choir. So, the crazy dynamics and vocal acrobatics will always be a part of his music (Brooklyn represent!!!). The Howard Gospel Choir simplifies the song a lot for those who require less musically/vocally. I have never sung this song before, but it sounds pretty difficult to sing.
On behalf of the Howard Gospel Choir THANK YOU for your encouragement and your constructive criticism. We are hosting auditions in SEPTEMBER 2007!!! If you are interested contact us on myspace or facebook. (I can't include emails so you will just have to be a little persistent.) BE BLESSED!
I said it because I knew someone probably would have something to say about in a negative way or discerning remarks that in retrospect aren't needed. And I do believe in the spirit of discernment and I think often before I write a comment. For the record I don't know where u studied but I stated just what I felt..Subconscious?? Don't think so....
What do u mean We? And who is We? As using Hall's rendition as the point of reference?? I just merely stated my op-ion . And I 'm not trying to start anything.
Man, this choir ain't legendary for nothin'!! What would one expect from a choir with past members such as Richard Smallwood? Sing on, chilrin!! Sing on!!!!!
my choir did this sunday....and tore it up...my God I can not get it out of my head...this song is serious...Lord I feel like shoutin' right now!!!
