i used to know some finnish blokes who once described thief: deadly shadows as "helsinki simulator" before breaking into an esoteric language of arcane moomin references. this is a trip
Similar to the first game, I have very fond memories of this one as well. As I started playing it back in the days when it was released I was joined by my mother, watching me playing the game, being fully immersed into the story and gameplay. She even stayed up past midnight despite having to go to work in the morning. To this day we joke about that one playsession in which I wasn't able to find the special gloves. I simply overlooked them in the right shop, so I visited the other shops as well. It took me quite some time to recognise the gloves. What a mess - but a very funny incident. My mother isn't a gamer herself - but she was always interested in my hobbies and the stories that come out of them. So Thief: Deadly Shadows is not only a very entertaining game, but a hoard of great memories to me.
I love your videos! They help me enjoy my lazy Sundays: a cup of coffee, a long form video retrospective/review in the background, whilst playing whatever game captures my attention atm. A perfect day.
I first came across your channel today thanks to this video. Your content is great and I hope things go your way. But I have a completely off topic question for you right now. Do you have any connections to Scotland or the Scots?
@@Voldazoma Thank you! To answer the question, not really. The only connections I know of are a father who studied and worked on the islands in his youth, and watching a copious amount of television from around there.
@finntrovert For context While watching your video, I couldn't quite figure out where your accent was coming from, so I asked my friend is this person a Scot? And he just like "man are you a dumb, he's Finnish. He litteraly writes on his chanel he's finnish. HE'S NAME IS FINNTROVERT." And I was just like nope you wrong, he's deffinitly Scot ... kinda. And then I thought, why don't I ask the source directly
@alicanakan552 That is a good policy for investigation! Glad to have been able to clear it up. It would be cool to have a Scottish connection aside from TV, but unfortunately that's not the case.
@@soyaflowers Thanks! I'm very glad that people have enjoyed what I do, and while I wouldn't call the growth of people to whom YT recommends these explosive, it's still way more than I ever expected!

Thief 3 was a game I used to look down on, until I played Thief 2014. Deadly Shadows was a lot more faithful to the series, and the faults were pretty minor in comparison.

Great video! I mean, I haven’t seen any of it yet, but I’m sure it will match the track record.
@@Trevelyan2 I hope so!
It may only be the 3rd best Thief -game, but it's still a great game, especially with the fixes.
Thief 3 is great! It has physics! And you can play it in first person without a problem. The missions are decent.
