He survived cancer and the intense treatment of chemo. just to choke later.. Being a lifeguard, I agree with this 100%. Who knows who you might save, could the life of a loved one.
I remember seeing this for the first time and the song made me cry
This ad had me all choked up
Good one
Coming from a CPR/AED student, this really is hard-hitting.
if you don't learn, you can fail
if you don't practice, you can fail
if you don't care, you failed
Amazing commercial
Great way to show a hard-hitting point, but a major flaw is that, if they had called 999, the operators are trained to direct people in first aid until help arrives. No way could they have not communicated how to do the Heimlich maneuver or, push comes to shove, cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
People in situations like this often panic
Yeah but it's easier to do first aid if you already learned it rather than someone who isn't even present at your location trying to verbally tell you what to do.
good commercial bit long though, where's it being used/what kind of media?
This psa inspired me to take a first aid class.
Did you take one?
so unlucky
How do you not know how to stop someone from chocking seriously
Oh look, I'm first. And who cares. Being first is just BORING.
mirorih2 ikr
Sia - I'm in here.
Could somebody tell me everything they say while he chokes...? I'm just weirdly curious thx
Something hands
Need to be here now
He's choking
Something about telling them
Love from India thnax
oh my god I love india
Who's the endorser ?
What song is that
Shahid Qadar ‘I’m in here’ by Sia
Proof that Life can be a cruel bitch, thanks to a piece of burger, the cancer survivor’s wife became a widow anyway. And their daughter became fatherless anyway.
Does anyone know the name of the song?
Kaitlyn Nichole im in here sia...... 3 years too late though :) xx
It’s mee
Maybe stop crowding around him and let someone do heimlich maneuver while another calls an ambularnce
LittleArmyNut - that's a good idea, but the point of the advert is that none of them know how to do it.
From what I know of basic first aid the Heimlic maneuver is the third option. 1) ask the person if they can cough. If they say yes then ask them to cough repeatedly to dislodge the obstruction.
2) If coughing is not possible, or does not work, then hit the person firmly between their shoulder blades with the palm of your hand. Remember to hit really hard.
3) If all else fails then attempt the Heimlic maneuver, only if you are sure how to do so.
Of course it is also important to know CPR in case these efforts fail.
Sia
I swear to God it used to be a male singing this.
1:28 Choking
Only when i'm stupid and don't pay attention to eating
first aid isnt only needed when somebody is choking you know
Is that kid special needs or something!!! She could've at least tried to help
The little girl looks to be about eight or so. I'm pretty damn sure that it would leave a child confused and shocked to see people panicking around Daddy on the ground after she thought he was getting better. By the way, the phrase is "has special needs," not "is special needs."
Killstreak 12 that kid happens to be me, when I was younger and filming the advert it was really hard for me to watch it, even though it wasn’t real it still upset me, and any 7yr old kid would feel and do the same thing x
...how the hell is a young girl supposed to help if a bunch of grown adults can’t help...!?
If this ever happens, the adults have nobody to blame but themselves. “tried to help”? Try with what?
