As is there an Indian version of nationalism,so also there should be an Indian version of secularism. The base for this is more appropriately a kind of non-violent,non-interfering inter-relationship among the social, cultural, ethnic and religious communities living as compatriots to each other.

This mulla never mentioned the Pakistan movement and Pakistan and the Islamic trajectory it took as one reason that fueled right wing Hindu politics. Easy to analyse Gandhi and Nehru than get into uncomfortable territory.

The talk is about secularism not India-Pakistan. Partition is not of any relevance here !!

Nehru's un-self conscious pluralism led to partition and formation of 2 Islamic states from India. Love BJP's straight approach, Pappu with his loser's smile will get 50 seats again. Bring on Hindu Rashtra and Uniform Civil Code.

He speaks as if the Indian History started from Nehru & Gandhi. For average Westerners a brown man speaking in accent and articulation verifies the information as truth. It's just an irony that a huge majority of information discussed in this lecture is rather misleading. What a shame!

No, he is talking about the history of secularism in India. The discussion on secularism in India is started with Nehru and Gandhi.
