No that's not as good as pure manual because even if you drive in manual mode but in adverse situation like on hills it doesn't work as great as manual.. but it gives some sort of control but not as beneficial as pure manual.

AMT is automated manual transmission it's a technology and AGS is automatic gear shift it is a term used by Maruti Suzuki for their automatic gear shift technology but both are same thing..amt is the technology and ags is a name given used by Maruti in their cars.
