I love this piece not least because it's a major influence on my favourite choral piece of all time Brahms Requiem (first movement) which is essentially a remix of this. Schütz is one of those lamentably neglected composers. I haven't had the pleasure of singing this one yet.

In Deutschlannd wird er viel gesungen. Ich habe ihn schon in meiner Schulchorzeit gesungen, später noch mehr.
