Hey yall, its been a minute since I've done some zone exploration videos and I do really enjoy making these. I hope you like it and thx for your continued guidance and support. See you in discord! :D
Love these videos man you dig up interesting lore and adding why you like the zone is nice as well. I never trained in wetlands untill I saw that vid. I hope you do more zones! Ashenvale has ALOT of lore and shit going on but ones I don't know much about are winterspring/felwood/azshara
During the second war the Horde utilized giant turtles with cabins strapped to their bodies as submarines. They were the Horde counterpart to the gnomish submarines. These dead turtles you pointed out on the coastline are likely the remnants of the wrecks of these Horde “submarines” from a naval battle that took place near there in the past. If you look up the Warcraft 2 units you will see they bear a resemblance.
If I remember well the first ships the horde can build are the troll destroyers and then they learn to build the ogre juggernauts when they join the horde (the ship inside the Dead Mines is an ogre juggernaut), for some reason to build turtles you also need to have the goblin alchemist building, guess since they were the counterpart of the gnomish submarines so they did that requirement so its both the same (I think goblins were in charge of operating the turtules).
It's so apparent how much passion you still hold for the game, thank you so much for making videos like these. It's so nice to be able to -feel- the zones again, instead of from a top-down, quest/grind perspective. There's so much that went into these zones, and all of us who played Vanilla can still feel that way, but it's so easy to forget all the details, ambiance and vibes when you've done the quests over and over again. Thanks for breathing fresh life into all of these neglected places!
Thanks for the attention on one of the most unappreciated zones in WoW. For atmosphere and zone coherence I don't think Swamp of Sorrows was bettered until Zangarmarsh, which I contest is still the most atmospheric zone in all of Warcraft. Great video, your narration really did the zone justice. It's interesting how the swamp zones tend to be the most interesting and impactful.
Those aren't Broken those are Lost Ones, Draenei that have devolved even further than the Broken have. I remember before TBC that is what all Draenei looked like, before they decided to reveal that Draenei were an offshoot of the Eredar and what we knew as Draenei were heavily corrupted. Come to think of it the Draenei were Blizzards first bit of new lore, as while mentioned before TBC the bulk of their lore didn't exist until that expansion. In fact Draenei weren't even considered to ever be playable until the developers looked at the amazing concept art of Archimonde and thought "you know these guys look they would be a cool race to play" and made up all this new lore on the spot as opposed to their Horde counterpart Blood Elves who had established lore back even before Vanilla. I know this was off-topic but seeing the Draenei Exiles really made me think about the changes that can happen in a game's lore with reveals and retconning.
I hated the change to Dranei. I loved the more down to earth underdog feel of the original Dranei before Blizz went full crazy with starships and aliens.
Do these videos more often. They are my favorite type of video that you make. Brings me back to a better time. So many memories. I haven't played this game in years but these zones are so etched in my mind I can still picture the layout and know my way around. It's great to see it again through someone else's eyes.
I loved Swamp of Sorrows, not least of all because of the extreme variety of enemies. You got dragons, krokolisks, fallen, bog elementals, spiders, murlocs, and even more. I also love the lonely, fornlorn zones and I'm a bit sad that Blizzard populated every square inch of every zone with quests. I understand they had to keep up with the times to keep their sub count high, but I always felt that the big emptyness added a lot of scale and a real sense of adventure to the game. You can probably say the same thing about most zones past 30, as the game really fans out after the more streamlined first half. It's a great feeling to just leave your faction behind and really brave the wilds. It means you have to prepare, bring some potions and food, maybe some other consumables. Can't wait to spend days here either farming or exploring. Also loved Sunken Temple!
ST is my all time favorite dungeon man. The first time I got in a group it look over two hours, fighting and finding your way down to the actual entrance I was worried my group members would leave. Dude when you get in and make your way up the stairs for the first time and see just how big it is you feel like you really don't belong there, and the immersion is insane. I cannot wait to run this dunegon.
Good to mention that this zone was huge in past. It is place where the dark portal was situated so blasted lands used to be one zone with SoS (you can definitely see that in the Black morass dungeon in tbc). Then the demons came and ruined big part of swamps into blasted lands.
Got a little bit alarmed when the stealth sound popped up at 10:15, was expecting you to fake a gank as a part of a skit or something like that. Awesome video, i think im one of the few that truly loves to take deeps looks at enviroments and scenery like this, these type of content is right up my alley and i appreciate the effort you put into it mixing lore and game tips in between with some critique too. Awesome stuff, definately different from all the usual classic "game" related content and a nice step away from the guides as a breather of sorts.
Your fly overs and commentary and reading from the book are some of our favorite classic videos. My wife and I started playing in burning Crusade which was very vanilla like. I look forward to you covering more zones like that as we eagerly await Classic. I suppose my favorite zone is Westfall which you have done but I also love Tanaris. I love the desert and the blowing wind there. I hope you can do a flyover cover of it.
Watching these makes me remind leveling there. The sunken temple was a killing field in old vanilla I was always getting ganked by alliance at the entrance. Great video btw
Could you make a video on like leveling paths for alliance and horde, not too specific but maybe going through different zones and explaining the level bracket they are for and if the zone has good quest density or does it make you run around for hours for little xp... Just an idea :) love the guides and these videos in particular! Thank you!
Heyho, just wanted to say thx for joining me on twitch today when I streamed! :) I am rly looking forward for summer when we finally got the classic servers from Blizz and I wish you all the best with making this to your "full time thing" basically! :) Regards, Defiler
Defiler! thanks very much for the nice comment man it was great meeting you and seeing the stream..im very excited as well and hope our paths will cross again the coming months!
@@kargozgaming Yes ofc! I am rly excited how everything will be and if we get a beta or so for classic! So ye absolutely makes sense to stay in touch! :)
One Caverns of TIme "event" takes place here. Also that distant "unnecessary" coast feels so magical, has that "unfinished matter" feel to it. The Bloodmyst Isle in BC has similar vibe. These look great especially with fog/low visibility. I think these zones are the best even in BfA, because they don't feel like some theme park.
Do you mean the black morass? I think is more a point between Swamp of Sorrow and Blasted Lands since I get BL used to be a little bit like SS but when Mediv did the portal and summon the Orcs some of the colateral damage was that part of the swamp got destroyed and turned what it is today.
7:56 The Draenei didn't transform into Lost Ones necessarily because of homesickness. Their exposure to fel magics corrupted their physical appearances on Draenor, and those corrupted Draenei, cut off from the Light, became the Broken. Some of the Broken that fled to Azeroth before the closing of the Dark Portal, ended up being disconnected from their culture, language, and their general way of life. Many of them succumbed to turning feral from exposure of fel magics and the disconnection. They became the Lost Ones: feral tribesmen defending their huts from passerby Horde and Alliance explorers.
Secluded zone, for better or for worse. It's a long run for horde players but when you've managed to get there it is well worth it. Don't miss getting the flight path!
From what I get after the orcs came to Azeroth on the first war their first establishment was Stonard so that is why its kind of "developed", also a high level alchemist or enchant trainer was there as the only shaman trainer on EK (the same with the pally trainer on Theramore to not going back to Eastern Kingdoms).
I for some reason I really enjoy the swamp zone my favorite has to be dust wallow marsh, I really enjoyed questing as horde doing the detective quest, I felt like an adventurous undead trekking through the warm swamp
you should talk about flowers, mining and number of quest by factions at my opinion. Not only of the graphics or atmosphere (it's great but not enough for me). I know it's not a guide for leveling but it could help for our futur magical journey in the classic azeroth.
Love the video's man. Was wondering... Hoping you could possibly do a vid or two on Alliance & Horde level grinding 1-60, including foods & drinks to bring, pot's. I'd also love a chest guide coupled with npcs that could be farmed for gold. 👍
tbh i really enjoy those kind of videos. Didn´t really payed attention as a kid how good or bad the enviroment was in a zone or the love of the detail. Just didn´t care i would say. But i think i will take a bit of my time and enjoy all of these things i didn´t appreciate earlier in the days. Looking forward to classic. Thanks for this an other videos of course =)
At least on private servers, this zone is anything but quiet. With the guides coming out about making gold pre 40 this zone is packed with people grinding jaguars. I just leveled my shaman and got over 300 HKs just from ganking while grinding here from 36-39
I've found SoS to be quite crowded, especially in the center and along the northern ridge. Would not really recommend going there unless for specific quests.
This zone is a goldmine for those that are farming for their mount gold. Will most likely be packed at start of classic though so probably not the most viable grinding spot the first couple of months.
Hey yall, its been a minute since I've done some zone exploration videos and I do really enjoy making these. I hope you like it and thx for your continued guidance and support. See you in discord! :D

Bring them on :) They are interesting
Question for ya, you got a recommendation for a private server?
Sunwell : Nightbane (tbc)
To aswer your question, padaren have been known in the lore long since pandaria expansion, or even vanilla.
I thought they were pandaren first
I thought I read in a questtext at some point that they are mounts used by nagas.
I love this zone. This one and Dustwallow Marsh are just oozing with atmosphere.
It's so apparent how much passion you still hold for the game, thank you so much for making videos like these. It's so nice to be able to -feel- the zones again, instead of from a top-down, quest/grind perspective. It’s like I’m on a Classic WoW safari and you are my metaphorical tour guide.
Great narration, my friend. Thank you for this experience
his narration is amzing
Would love to see more like this. Something for underappreciated, or under used zones.
Thanks for the attention on one of the most unappreciated zones in WoW. For atmosphere and zone coherence I don't think Swamp of Sorrows was bettered until Zangarmarsh, which I contest is still the most atmospheric zone in all of Warcraft. Great video, your narration really did the zone justice.

zone explorations are by far ur best videos. enjoying it

Well done, Kargoz. I hated SoS the first time I saw it but it became one of my favorite zones. Thanks for the tour!
You should do this with other zones as well. Coming from someone who played warcraft 1 in the 90s, this is cool.
Do these videos more often. They are my favorite type of video that you make. Brings me back to a better time. So many memories. Thanks for this, Kargoz! I’m a big fan of this series! Great vibes. Sunken Temple was an epic dungeon as well. ❤️
This is amazing. So soothing after a terrible day. Please do more of these!!

Nice video. I'm glad you paused at the Asian-looking bridge. Anyone else remember Cortello's Riddle? One of the clues was under that bridge.

Such a cool series, and so many great zones left to dive into!

This type of video is great, I hope you plan on making more of these videos for other vanilla WoW zones.

God, I can't wait for Classic.
Reminds me of my first time seeing swamp terrain in real life, traveling from Savannah,GA to Charleston,SC.

Lots of variety in the Swamp of Sorrows...a zone with a ton of character in it I think.
Your attention to detail is unmatched.
in warcraft 2 the rts game the orcs had turtle submarines i think thats an easter egg for the turtle submarines :)

Those times, when i was farming some weed for the blinding powder...Very atmospheric zone.

hey Kargoz can you do a video on RESTED XP, no one has done a video on it

One of my favorites. Great video
Been waiting for a return to your roots
Also, the Onyxia quest chain sends you there
Naisu! Giving me the vibes of a british documentary about nature.
Awesome vid man gave me chillz .
Really loving these videos, better than ASMR hahaha
great vid! keep making more vanilla content please. Keep the hype alive :D
Oh truue Broken Draenei, thats so cool!
Hey Kargoz. Ty once again for a great video. Could you do a zone exploration video about Duskwood? :)

@@connorbarnes3661 Hope so!
The broken were some sort of descendants of Draenei that had devolved

Thank you brother!
Hey man, Nice Video. How about dustwallow March next? :)
tbh i really enjoy those kind of videos. Didn´t really payed attention as a kid how good or bad the enviroment was in a zone or the love of the detail. Just didn´t care i would say. Please do more of these videos for every Zone
Jesus dude when will we actually know what portion of summer classic is releasing I feel like that date should be available by now
So the Alliance has no flight path to this contested zone?
Nope. There is an alliance flight path in Northern blasted lands however, very close to the SoS border.
SoS holds my favourite classic dungeon.
amazing video please do more
loved this video
At least on private servers, this zone is anything but quiet. With the guides coming out about making gold pre 40 this zone is packed with people grinding jaguars.
I just leveled my shaman and got over 300 HKs just from ganking while grinding here from 36-39
ST was so great

private servers are too crowded. especially with chinese.
chen stormstout was in the rts warcraft games
Don't worry about the whelps. Those are my whelps.
Winterspring might forever be my favorite zone since vanilla
And call me mad but I liked Desolace and Silithus yet hated Feralas and Un Goro
I used to love the original Sunken Temple. They nerfed it to death, unfortunately.
Dude I always thought those dead turtles were from Warcraft 2. But they do look like the Panda turtles!
They are not panda turtles. They were used by the horde during the second war :)
The dead turtal were the hord subs from warcraft 2
Random skeleton sitting underwater at 7:39interesting
no alliance town?
I think it looks more like the temple from majora's mask
I feel inspired!
When draenai where designed correctly
THE VIDEOS ARE BACK!
only time i went there was to head to ST really
What's the biggest private server out now?
You forgot the cave!
Amazing video man wtf !!
This zone is a goldmine for those that are farming for their mount gold.
Will most likely be packed at start of classic though so probably not the most viable grinding spot the first couple of months.
Can you make more of these please
Tell us about the test of skulls dragon that will sneak up behind you and ONE SHOT UR FACE
Nice video KKomrade Clap
Get out of my swamp !
I've trying to get attached to ESO but I can't stop thinking and wishing to play Classic WOW. Why they're taking so long to lauch it.
Just like luisiana,a bit more friendly do.
one of my fav maps, so misterious...and the music (L)
Make more plz

Nice video, but your poor vocabulary destroys the atmosphere. “Oh maaan”, “so so cool” do not fit here.
meh, nothing special imo. Kinda similar to dustwallow marsh.
i love the red flowers everywhere tho man xD
not really.
swamp of sorrows has a spectacular beach view.
also ST adds a lot to sense of mystery itself.
Zone is garbage tho and I tried it many times and regretted it everytime going through Joanas Guide and this is where you will slow down a lot
Not the point of the vid bud.. Also enjoy zones lore wise too not just xp grind
yeah especially with grinding high level enemy it's very questionable
