i cant sing... but still do it at me local pub. i think luke would be happy to see his music being used in the pub and causing soo much joy. he would blow anyone awat with a voice like lik that, RIP luke
Luke Kelly is hands down my favourite of all time.the sound and power of his voice his emotional involvement in his songs is just incomparable to any other singer.an absolute giant of Irish folk Sony and a true legend. RIP Luke.
It's so amazing and truely magical his voice! Just Luke's voice alone was enough to enchant the World.By the away, remembering his birthday is today, November 17th.
there are historians! and there is kellyoneill thank you so much for taking the trouble to make all the Luke and Dubliners fans so happy. well done!! i met them and saw them several times in the 60s and 70s.
It's a five star from me. I love to drink in his ol' haunts, I love the stature of his beautiful songs, cease to amaze me never, Luke by me shall be adored forever. Thanks again Kelly.
you're very right. ewan maccoll was luke kellys hero. he sang many songs written by ewan maccoll(jimmy miller). its deffinetly not only an irish style.
I heard it said one time that Lukes voice could take the head off Guiness at 40 paces!! He had the most wonderfull sound .. great times ,good memories... thank you for posting
Who remembers The Boys From The Blackstuff? This song was used as the theme music for the film The Black Stuff which the TV series was eventually written around. The lads sing this song in their van on the way to a dodgy job, some of the words changed but same song. Tune!
@@stormytempest3907 I bought the DVD box set about 20 years ago, it has all episodes plus the film (but not the 'missing' episode between both, called The Muscle Market, concentrating more on a building contractor paying cash-in-hand to lads on the sites who he knew were on the dole, sounds like the character 'Molloy' from the series'). I would recommend watching the whole lot again, it's more relevant than ever and a really terrific, well made series but prepare to be very VERY depressed by the end of it.
@@speakertreatz Hi, from Liverpool and worked on the ' blackstuff ' , Liverpool sense of Humour got us through dark times!😀 Muscle market was another Bleasedale classic, don't think it was related to Blackstuff though, regards.

kellyoneill could you send it to me please? fantastic collection - love your videos!
Its funny that this song sounds this good without the music. The dubliners are excellent musicians too
Priceless.
What does he mean when he talks about Ol Nick?? Any ideas?
'Ol Nick' is short for Old Nick ie the Devil (St Nicholas)
Prison
Bradley Biasotti was a friend of his
St. Nicholas is the Devil? The Irish have some very strange Christmas traditions.
Ould Nick means St. Nicholas, who is, Santa Claus.
just do a google search for "keepvid"
enter the URL of the vid and then download it,
just remember to save the file as .flv (dot flv)
Incredible
His intenation is incredable, Its like he rapping.
Legend!
2023 👋
legend
@jcsrealty thanks 4 the compliment
legend ! RIP!
Does anyone have an idea on what is meant by "a traitor from the Tipperary ranks"?
Pádraic1998 - IRA reference
Tipperary is in Northern Ireland. The copper, policeman, is calling him a traitor
Tipperary is not in NI.
Troy Rossi-Tipperary is in the south of Ireland.
Well the copper would be RIC, so he's calling McGuire a "traitor" because he's in the IRA.
