You certainly have a tremendous amount of knowledge, patience and skill to be able do this job correctly. I am sure that most people who have their vehicles serviced do not always realize how much work is involved to "simply replace" a water pump and do not understand why it costs so much. Thanks for including the part numbers, I like to see what the price of the parts are these days. All Ford OEM parts , no Dorman!!

Great video! I have not had the displeasure, lol, of coming across one of these water pumps or timing belts yet. If and when I do, I will have a better idea of how to go about it. I feel for you leaving the shop late. I used to find myself leaving sometimes after midnight. Dealing with walk ins and phone calls does take up a huge part of our day which most people don't understand. Sometimes we are just too nice for our own good! 😅 Keep up the great work! 👌🏼👍🏼

This is just my style, if I have the instructions printed out, I am going to add my own notes while I am using a lift or no lift. I only want to lift the car and lower the car ONE TIME. I will make notes of what needs to be done while I am under the car and be done down there. To me, unless it is impossible to do it all in one trip under the car, I don't want to be embarrassed but going up and down and up and down on the lift, following my own instructions to do the job as efficiently as possible, which may not work on the first job, but will work on all future jobs. This also includes a more specific note that a puller is not needed under normal conditions.
I always mark the old timing belt and transfer the marks over to the new belt by counting teeth if it does not come with marks to realign the new belt to the proper places without worrying, did I put that on correctly? What I mean is I do not trust the special tools to ALWAYS align things up 100% of the time, no pun intended. Thanks for all your very useful videos near 100% since I found your channel but have not watched prior to JAN 24.

Any advice on what to do next if it doesn't start? It's cranking, but not starting.......

The first thing I would do is check to see if there’s any codes in the computer if you have a way of checking that. I would also go over everything and make sure everything got plugged back in.

@@hrdiesel That's kind of what I was thinking too. Hopefully it is just a sensor that I forgot to plug back in or something like that. I will also scan it as well. I did have the spark plugs out during the process, but that shouldn't matter......they do need to be changed but it still should fire up. Thank you again Sir for your help and video. I really appreciate you.

@@hrdiesel Okay, so I double checked everything and it all seems to be good. Any other suggestions before I go back and redo everything? When I say redo, I mean taking the necessary steps to make sure the timing is right? I replaced the timing belt and water pump (since it was leaking and overheated) so I will obviously not take the water pump back off. But I was thinking about rotating the cams back to TDC and then taking the belt back on and off again. Not really sure how that is going to help. But what are your thoughts? She still won't start. She does have a C1299 code which is the "Cylinder Head Overtemperature Protection" mode. I was wondering if that is why she won't start. I thought about replacing the coolant temperature sensor OR the cylinder head temperature sensor (CHT) to see if that would clear the code out....I know this may cause the vehicle not to start either....I am more leaning this direction.... Thoughts? Suggestions? Thank you, Chris
