  • In this stunning animation, watch NASA's Cassini spacecraft begin the last chapter of its 20-year mission to Saturn. Diving deeper into Saturn's rings than ever before, scientists hope that the data from Cassini's final orbits will help to improve our understanding of the giant ringed planet. The probe's last act will be to plunge itself into the planet's atmosphere, where it will burn up and become part of the planet itself.

Human beings are so fragile and small, we are greedy, jealous, and selfish, but at the same time we are so empathetic, and full of kindness. So that we have a sense of mission for the lonely journey of an inorganic little robot. One day, our footsteps will be where the pioneers reached, the Cassini, and you will always stand in the monument of human history.

I hope that many lifetimes from now people will look back at this as proof that when humans set their mind to something, we can achieve the impossible.

    Is it the music?
Is it the atmosphere (no pun intended) of the video?
Is it the magnificent words she is saying?
Is it the death of a machine?
Is it realizing the incredible, cool, fascinating feats humans are capable of?

They show us a machine performing a mission, they humanize it, that's why they say it's "fighting back the atmosphere to keep its antennas pointed at earth". You get emotional cause you see "SOMEONE" sacrificing till the last second for us. If you think about that, that's what makes you cry. That's an archetype story right there, in fact it bears similarity to jesus's story.

it's just a strong hypothesis that is widely believed. But there is no solid proof that Saturn doesn't have a solid core. The core region of Saturn has never been directly observed. But based on the available theories and facts , it's believed to be composed of gasses only.

    This is very emotional!!!
Very thoughtful story narration about a spacecraft that had done a great job from its inception and until it's last minute.
the story, narrator's voice-over, graphics and the background score collectively made us very emotional.
huge respect to the people who had created and planned Cassini', it's course to Saturn and the people who made this amazing video.
Reading peoples comments who experienced love and sorrow for Cassini in this short video made me even more emotional thinking that I am not alone.
