i dont have photoshop
The easy part is the dark rectangle they remove in the beginning. All they did was make a perfect selection of that rectangle, create a levels adjustment layer using the selection, and made the darkest black pixels have a lighter value. If that makes sense to you.

I don't use any tool hard. You can replay to see clear. Maybe because I dot it so fast.

great method, but 2 mins once you have watched and understood this video for an hour and prepared what you showed, and it works only if you have a sample on a plain surface, otherwise you cant create this blending template. but if you got this, great stuff. i dont, so, sad face...
